The location is superb. Easy to reach all the historic attractions of Heidelberg. The staff were fantastic. Very helpful. The hotel was very clean with a pub and restaurant attached.

We enjoyed the cold breakfast but felt the hot breakfast could have been better. It would have been good if the rooms had had a fridge. Our friends stayed in Vienna which was a great room and reflected the city it was named after. Amsterdam was well furnished but the room and ensuite felt tired and needed a refresh.

The staff is amazing, very friendly and helped me with everything I needed. Including the owner that generously preordered me the breakfast this morning . Location is great, in the center of the city, but quiet rooms. Having room in different themes is so creative; every time in go back I’m curious to see in which room I will stay now. It was London this time, Zermatt last time.

Nothing that I can mention

This hotel is quirky. Each room is elaborately decorated in the style of a city, like Dublin. This is fun, though I'd have liked a comfy chair instead of the hard wooden rwo-seater. The location is fantastic -- right in the middle of the old town. Very friendly staff. And there's a collection of early musical instruments!

Breakfast was modest for the price. Two types of cereal, lukewarm eggs and bacon, no chopped fruit,, just whole apples. More attention to comfort in the rooms would have been nice.

Loved the themed rooms, ours was very spacious, well equipped, and fun. Great to have lots of opening windows in the heat. Great location, right in the busy main restaurant and shopping old town but quiet too.

Had a ceiling fan but not in the main sleeping area. A portable fan would have been great. Be aware it is very difficult to drop off luggage at the door, despite what the hotel advised. But parking is close by and very reasonable and convenient.

Location was great! Room was clean and comfortable. Beds were comfortable. Great to have racks to hold suitcases. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Bumped my head into the low beam a couple of times. Water from the shower ran out of the shower due to no gasket on the bottom of the shower door. Wife did not take a shower during our two day stay because of this. Chairs were hard and uncomfortable.

The staff were exceptional. They were very friendly and they even made sure to get in contact with me when i left my passport in my room! The New York room was fun and very comfortable. The room was very spacious and kept spotless by the cleaners. The loacation is perfect in the old town, right by the bars! I had a fantastic stay - I would recommend it and would stay again, too.

Pretty much everything

Car parking in the public car park a bit difficult especially when arriving on a Saturday and with roadworks currently blocking the normal access but since the Hotel is in a pedestrian only zone and has no car park of its own this cannot really be blamed on the hotel.

Fabulous hotel, perfect location and very friendly, helpful staff.

Only one little criticism, it would have been nice to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room.

Nice concept with cool rooms designed according to different cities. We were in room Dublin and all was lovely and authentically decorated. Our friends stayed in room Vienna and the room was also very cute. Their room was not directly at the main pedestrian road and it was more quiet and less hot. However, with the fan in our room and closed windows all was cool and silent at night. The location is great, parking was easy in nearby public parking garage P11 (12 Euro per day, but do not park there with a huge mini-can or large SUV as car lots were designed when people had small cars). The staff was lovely and helpful and the hotel restaurant was very nice, too. One of the oldest buildings in the city I think and we can really recommend a stay in the HIP hotel!

The staff were unfailingly friendly and very helpful. The decor was completely unexpected! The breakfasts were wonderful.

It was slightly more expensive than I would have liked, but it was excellent.
