We had a lovely corner Jr Suite large with sitting area, small balcony very charming and clean. Room was great Front Desk provided excellent service.. Please note in September they give staff time off from a busy summer so the Restaurant was only open for breakfast, we were not informed prior to arrival but there were other restaurants close by. Also the Bar in the lobby quite charming was not staffed by a Bar Tender due to staff being off, Front Desk offered to make some drinks, so that area was a little quiet. However, excellent service, very clean and charming. A lovely older hotel maintained very well kept with such beautiful history well documented in pictures . Located close to the main train station within walking distance but rooms on left side of hotel facing the Zoo so you had a great view of the animals ( not loud) in the morning. Single rooms do have less attractive views on lower floors which include alley areas so ask for higher floors on left side of the hotel . My sons had two such rooms. Charming Breakfast and pastry shop around the corner.. Good Wifi.. Parking, they do warn you about this, it is limited but every attempt was made to accommodate guests to park, we had to park on the street one night only. They do have tour groups so a large bus was in the middle of the parking lot at times but you could park around it. This was September slightly off season so I do not know how much of an issue this is in the summer. You are located out of the city center, but there are trams that go to the city center about 10-15 minutes. Gym well equipped.

As mentioned, request rooms higher up with better views on left side. Parking may be an issue at times.

I was returning by train from Berlin to Basel, when a freak rainstorm wiped out the DB signalling system and we all had to leave the train at Karlsruhe, further travel impossible. Some people slept the night in the train - some, like me, blew a hundred Euros on comfort. I booked, using my mobile phone , while standing in line at this hotel along with dozens of others. Totally uncomplicated, very comfortable room, friendly staff. Great location, next to the station. I would go there for a future visit to Karlsruhe!

The location is just across the Karlsruhe train station and near the zoo. The location is therefore quite ok, even though the center is ca. 2km away. Parking was available in front of the hotel. The hotel facilities are already rather worn out. We had a rather large and comfortable room with a large double bed. The breakfast was pleasant and had all fresh things necessary

There was no safe in the room. Also the restaurant of the hotel was closed until the middle of October for as the announcement said for a “creative pause”.

Our room was situated opposite the zoo with a large living/bedroom area with opening patio doors. A very short walk from the train station (3 minutes) and also the hop on bus stop. The zoo is just across the road (if that is your thing). Easy walking to eateries and in a safe area. A flat easy 30 minute walk to the castle.

Great location and great ambiance. It has the charm of the old railway station hotels. My room was very quiet and spacious. The area has some good restaurants and it I’ve very convenient for transports.

It is nearing the time of a refurbishment or an update. Although the furnishing and amenities were good, they start feeling a bit dated, in particular the heat control was a bit tricky.

The location is excellent — very close to the train-station, quiet, and extremely convenient. The room was clean, spacious, and nicely furnished. The hotel facilities were spotless and well maintained. The breakfast was great, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Great location with easy parking at the front of the hotel for a charge of €18. My room was lovely with a very comfortable bed and crisp white linen. The air conditioning was quiet and needed with the current warm temperatures. The breakfast was excellent and good value when you see the selection of food items available.

My entire stay in Karslruhe was brilliant! Schlosshotel is clean, quiet, and has the friendliest staff. The breakfast was outstanding. You cannot beat the location near the train station and a short walk to the Palace. Old world charm meets modern. Well done, Schlosshotel.

Breakfast was available until 11am at weekends. But by 10am the food was not replenished. An expensive €19 breakfast! The hotel is beside the zoo, can be a little noisy due to Flamingos close by! On the day of departure staff knocked on the bedroom door twice before check out at 11am

The lunch box: 15€ was not really worth it. The sandwiches were tasty but being able to add items from the buffet would have been good but unfortunately not possible (despite the buffet already being ready).
