We loved the historical context of a period country Manor House. The ambiance and quiet reflectiveness were greatly appreciated. The owners’ attention to detail in all aspects was exceptional including the breakfast which was most enjoyable. As architects we were pleased to experience the North German domestic architecture. Compared to anonymous chain hotels this was a welcome break.

Location had some negatives which were amply overcome by the owners’ external detail. And it was only a short walk into the old town.

Lovely historic property, located just off the island, about 25 min walk into the old town. we had a huge suite. Breakfast was really good, very up market.

The only issue we had was the blackout blind fell down, and there was a misunderstanding with the owner about putting it right, so we didn't have darkness to sleep, minor point but it is expensive to stay so we expected it to be fixed.

Character-filled building with big, well appointed rooms and friendly owners and staff that make you feel welcome.

The location is in a drab area with a fairly significant walk required to any restaurants or cafes. It's not unmanageable, but I was a bit unprepared for the hike to the main sights etc.

An amazing hotel/b&b with a lot of old charm. The building and interior are kept up really great, and the owners took exceptional care of ensuring that the decoration gives the exceptional extra flair. The owners were really forthcoming and always ensuring that the stay was great and ready to give additional information about Lübeck and the surrounding area. Full disclosure: we ended up getting lucky and getting a room upgrade

Very cozy rooms and hotel atmosphere. On the way you can see the owner's hand, who makes decorations, appropriate to the season. This is an individual place, it is not a chain hotel, each one is the same, there are fewer and fewer such places

Wow, really charming hotel, lots of character and amazing attention to detail. Breakfast also excellent.

Proximity to town meant approximate 20-25 min walk. When the weather is good this is not really a problem.

This hotel was an experience in itself. It is the most beautiful place I have ever stayed at on my and my family's travels. The owners and staff was incredible welcoming and serviceminded.

The hotel is a short walk from the Lübeck Alstadt, and Google maps led us astray our first walk to the city, so I would recommend to listen to our hosts tips to route to the city center.

Amazing place : a charming castle with warm and delicate decoration. Very room has its own personality. We were under the roof on an exceptional room inspired by the sky. Great comfort, superb breakfast, very warm service. The owners make sure that you feel at home in their wonderful castle.

The surroundings are not great but easy to get to the city by car in 5’.

Wonderful chateau, yo can feel good taste everywhere, from decoration to breakfast; still remember the delicious black olives they had! Very friendly couple runs the place. Got good advice for visiting the center. Private parking.
