This is a "Berghotel" and lives up to its name, though very hard to believe since it is only a 15-minute drive from the city. You are completely in the countryside, a few hundred meters above the city with a spectacular view of it. The most stunning part of this hotel, besides the multitasking hostess, Ursula, is the breakfast on the terrace. From that aspect alone I would rate this place with a 10.

Rooms were basic, squeaky bed, but nothing that wasn't expected. It really is sort of a mountain experience. A little rundown but that only adds to its charm.

Marvellous position, very close to the city, easy to find. Clean and relatively modern room, with a fantastic view, a good bed and a good shower. Breakfast up to standards. Guests should know that this hotel does not have staff on site at night. The lady in charge had a certain kind of grumpiness, but in a strange way this refusal to all modern marketing strategies only confirms this place's authenticity.

A few details: a piece of soap or squeeze bottle was lacking in our bathroom and our hair-dryer did not function.

Impressive-looking building with a turret! Looks like a small castle. Beautiful, peaceful location on the top of a hill with amazing views over Trier. Lots of forested grounds and trails to explore. A playground for my son to play in. Large, clean room. Short drive into Trier. Free parking right outside property. Simple breakfast.

Reception was closed when we arrived and our key was taped to the door. Reception was also closed when we left but they came back when I called them so I could pay. Difficult to book breakfast as they didn’t respond to messages on Booking.com. Restaurant no longer open. All felt a bit spooky as few guests and no staff to be seen except at breakfast. Wonderful view of Trier from breakfast balcony but no access except at breakfast. Lots of wasps! Wifi not great. TV only in German.

Room 107 has a balcony and quite a nice view. Our room (108) also had an outstanding panoramic view. There is a lovely trail, in the forest, that makes for a nice peaceful walk Additionally, there is free mineral water supplied by the hotel and although there is no restaurant, there is the possibility to purchase beverages on site.

There was not much that we did not like actually. We requested an early check-in, but this was not possible. The internet connection was weak. The access to the tower would have made a nice viewpoint, but access is denied. Finally, although we were aware, of the lack of a restaurant, it would have been convenient to dine on-site. Still knowing beforehand we had dinner in the city before arriving to check in.

The location is excellent, on the hills overlooking Trier, a couple of minutes away from Autobahn 64. Perfect for an overnight stay. There is no noise from the Autobahn. It is completely screened by a low hill. Service is excellent and english is spoken. At our visit the restaurant was closed, but there is several good alternatives in the villages along the L44 /L43 /L42. The room was well-eqiupped, furnished to good standard, excellent beds and bathroom. The breakfast was very good, as can be expected in Germany! The patio has a fantastic view over Trier.

Our family had an exceptional experience at this hotel. The stunning view from the property provided an unforgettable backdrop to our stay. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm and genuine welcome that made us feel truly valued as guests. The breakfast was a highlight of our visit—delicious, diverse, and thoughtfully prepared. We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking quality hospitality paired with picturesque surroundings.

- Unbelievable price-quality ratio. - We received a free upgrade to a room with a beautiful view of the city. - The location is brilliant, peace and quiet and nature all around. - Good breakfast. - Very nice, polite and helpful owner. - It is also worth adding that there is free water in a glass bottle. Free if we do not take a bottle with us, otherwise we can buy it and take it with us.

I didn't find

The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, heating was very good, there is free mineral water for the guests, the breakfast was very delicious with a view over the city. Very quiet place surrounded by nature and just 3 km from Trier by car. The owner of the place is a very nice lady who is doing an amazing job running the place over 40 years! The free parking is very good bonus. Definitely would like to come back!

For us, the mattresses were too soft (personal preference) and the owner did not seem to like foreigners too much. We were only informed that the restaurant and cafe were closed after we had already made a non-refundable booking, and the hotel is not in walking distance of any other restaurants.

We only spent one night at the hotel, but would like to stay longer and will definitely be back. The hotel is situated on a hill with a fantastic view of the city. The ladies at reception were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good. The room was very modern and clean, with a modern bathroom and super comfortable bed. A great forest path leads directly from the hotel to the city center.
