The hotel is tastefully decorated, cleaned daily, and sits just above the main pedestrian zone of Nafplio. It is in a totally quiet zone, so you'll sleep really well. The breakfast was pretty good (with amazing homemade strawberry and apricot jams), and you can eat it on a beautiful terrace (under orange/lemon trees) overlooking the city and the sea. There is a rooftop terrace with stunning views of fortresses, city, mountains, and the sea.

A few minor things that could be improved: 1. Add a shower holder so guests can shower hands-free. 2. The fridge was too loud for us, and could impact sleep. 3. As mentioned above, breakfast was solid, but it would be nice to have more variety - for example, feta cheese, watermelons, prosciutto

Location was superb, view from balcony as well. Terrace for breakfast was calming and I just wanted to keep sitting and enjoying. Room was super spacious. There was AC and new bottled water each day. At breakfast omelette or fried eggs were offered to be made on order. Breakfast options were simple, but filled me up good.

30min before breakfast ends, food items that were eaten were not refilled. Like cucumbers, fruits, some pastries. Maybe it was refilled at first breakfast hour, but 30-40min before breakfast end, if plate was empty, it remained empty. There are stairs up to hotel so if you have too much luggage or not with best walking ability, it might be hard to reach.

The people were wonderful and welcoming, In my case, the room was even ready a little early. The room itself was ample in size for a solo traveler and would have been OK for a couple (there's almost no place to put one's clothing though, i.e. no drawers at all). The internet connection was excellent, and they kindly had a complimentary bottle of water waiting in the refrigerator. The breakfast was simple but tasty and quite satisfying. The location worked perfectly for me as it is in the heart of downtown Nafplio. So, lots of good things about this property, hence my high rating.

The only issue I had was with the bathroom. Some characteristics are common to Europe (e.g., tiny bit of immovable glass bordering the less than half shower that results in water on the bathroom floor), but one item would give me a little pause about staying there again. That one item was the inability to take a comfortable shower. The mount for the shower head was at upper leg to crotch level only. There was no way to have the shower head secured above oneself and directed downward. This left me eager to depart and get someplace where I could have a proper shower.

Aethra was just what we needed after two previous nights in an underwhelming AirBnB. Nafplio is a beautiful city, and Aethra is located in the wonderful old town area. The citrus trees growing in the courtyard are a spectacular addition to the view of Nafplio that you have. It is a 3-minute walk to all of the good restaurants and shops, but it is far enough away that it is quiet and interrupted by the foot traffic. Breakfast was phenomenal, and the staff were incredibly helpful. We got a separate room for our kids, and they even worked to make sure that we our rooms were next to each other, which gave us some peace of mind.

I’m going to take a negative and turn it into a positive. I’m sure that many people don’t like the fact that you can’t drive your car right up to the door of the hotel to be dropped off. Yes, it is a 5-10 minute walk to wherever you have to park. But not only does this help to ensure the peace and solitude this hotel offers, but it is a unique experience that my family and I would not have traded. We would have packed less, though, which was a good lesson for us.

Highly recommended all around. An intimate hotel run with love, where you feel at home with extremely attentive and warm-hearted staff. The location is perfect, somewhat elevated, but still centrally overlooking the old town and the harbor beautifully and thus also very quiet, like an oasis from the hectic everyday life. The rooms are very tasteful and modern with all comforts stylishly furnished. Very nice also the high quality breakfast with local and natural products, no orange juice from the tetrapack, eggs are freshly prepared on request. Beautiful, well kept place sitting high up in Nafplion. Comfortable rooms, quite spacious, lovely views from the terrace where you can eat their quality breakfast. Staff is very alert, friendly and welcoming. One of the cleanest hotels I've ever been, with tasteful decoration.

Nothing really. The eggs are probably not from free range chickens, since they don't have much taste, but that's a very minor point. Highly recommended.

Such a beautiful experience staying here. Our junior suite with a sea view was extremely spacious, very well decorated and equipped with a modern bathroom, safety deposit box, balcony with a view of the town and the sea and two TVs. The location is perfect including a beautiful view from the room/balcony and from the brilliant courtyard where you enjoy your breakfast. The breakfast selection and quality was perfect and extremely tasty. We also loved how friendly and accommodating all of the staff were. We would 100% recommend Aethra Boutique Rooms and would stay here again if/when we return to Nafplio!

It would have been nice to have a full length mirror in the room.

The staff friendly and helpful. The night manager helped carry our luggage up the outside 45+ steps from the nearby alley to the hotel, then up to our room on the additional 15 steps. The general manager carried our luggage down the outside steps. The full breakfast exceeded my expectations, simple but delicious omelets. The outside patio courtyard was large and comfortable, the view was superb.

The outside climb up the about 45+ steps in this old town were demanding. I suggest older guests bring a walking stick with them to help their balance on the walk down.

Excellent location. The place was in the center of the nice old city center of Nafplio. From the top you can see the area from old town. The breakfast was good, it has also coffee, tea. The staff was nice and ready to help you if needed. The room was very clean and everything you need. The room has a balcony (it was a little bit small the one from our room). The stairs are not a problem if you are a little bit trained. There are a lot of parking lots in the port so there is no problem for finding a place even in August.

There is a smell in the bathroom.

Perfect location inside the old-town of Naupliou, a few steps more but near the parking area, so it's not a big deal! The view was so romantic above the History center especially at night with all the lights from Palamidi and Mpourtzi!! The room was perfect for a couple with a huge bed and a small balcony facing the town. Friendly staff, daily cleaning futures and a tasty breakfast (not a lot of options but fresh and customized). The best part of our stay was the balcony view at nights and early morning!! Also the place taking our breakfast was the tropical yard outside the property with lemon trees and churge belling hourly!!

Maybe two things, like options in breakfast and the prize range of the rooms that you can book (only a few have a private balcony with additional cost).
