The view from my room made me feel like I was a character in E M Forster’s novel, A Room With a View🙃; the domes, the tiled roofs, the distant mountains, quant courtyard below. Everything was well cared for and decorated nicely, the building is interesting, the staff helpful, especially Vasilis in reception-thank you for your good cheer Vasilis. As it is tucked up some extra stairs it was quiet at night, away from tavernas and street noise so I could leave windows open. It was easy to walk to the harbour, beach, castle and fort as well as the rest of the old city.

I liked everything. My bed was firm, which suits me but those preferring soft beds may not like that.

The location of the hotel was perfect for walking to locations in Nafplion and for parking the car in the free car park near the beach. Driving in and out of Nafplion was also eased by being able to park in that location. The staff were exceptionally helpful and polite. The view from the balcony over the harbour was a delight as was having breakfast outside by the dome of a former hamam.

It was perfect for me but people who have difficulty climbing stairs might find the stairs up to the hotel difficult and the hotel has no lift.

Amazing hotel, friendly staff, exceptional location (right in the downtown). The staff was very caring and responsive. The breakfast was delicious, the room was very clean. There was a wonderful view onto the old town of Nafplio. It's about 4-5 minutes on foot to Nafplio bus station, so it was super comfortable to reach the hotel with the baggage and then back to Athens. The bookshelf with books makes the hotel even more attractive.

Everything was amazing

A very nice hotel with lots of character which is what we always look for. We stayed at the 3rd floor and we had 2 windows from where the view was magnificent. The owner was very nice and he recommended us a great local tavern which was a top choice. We felt like old times in Greece when we had breakfast in the cosy dining room/bar and loved it. After had spent 2 nights in Spetses and Hydra we were happy because this was the best hotel out of all of the ones we stayed at. Highly recommended, 10 out of 10!

Everything was tip top!

We loved the location of the hotel. Perfectly placed in the Old Town with everything at your fingertips. Breakfast was a set menu delivered to your table - consisting of a basket of bread, croissants and cake, a boiled egg, cheese and Turkey, yoghurt with a topping, juice, tea and coffee. It was served on the outdoor terrace. We loved all the old world touches on each floor. We had a balcony room on the third floor. We overlooked the old castle, fortress and Catholic Church. It was beautiful - dated but it comes with the age of the hotel. Modern decor and fittings wouldn’t fit. Special shout out to Nick. We had some fabulous chats and his wealth of knowledge was amazing. Nick was so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you 😊

Nothing - we came to love stairs and steps in Nafplion

The Byron is one of the traditional hotels in Nafplio. It was here when I lived in Nafplio in the late 1990s and it continues to offer a low-key, comfortable option. The location is excellent. Views over the old town's rooftops. It's quiet. I'd stay here again.

Shower didn't have good way to keep water from getting all over bathroom floor no matter how hard you try. Small "tough it out" type of thing in the greater scheme of things.

In the center of the town, close to all main attractions. Air conditioner was strong — it is a main thing when it is 40 C outside. I had also a window view to the old town. The room was small, but for solo traveller it is ok. The resection people were very friendly and helpful.

You just have to take into consideration that you have to climb by stairs from the street and free parking places are like 5 walk from the property.

The hotel has great character. Even though there are a lot of steps to the hotel and in the hotel, they weren’t a problem. The hotel is close to a lot of eating and shopping places in old town.

The fan in the bathroom didn’t vent well. There is no parking near the hotel, so you’ll need to park at the port and walk up to the hotel with your luggage.

Very nice, quiet location in the old town of Nafplio. Generous breakfast and pleasant contact with the hotel staff. Very good starting point for exploring the eastern part of the Peloponnese peninsula. My stay was at the end of April for 6 nights.
