Delightful family run hotel who were very friendly and attentive. Excellent rooms. The bedroom came with one full double (not two singles pushed together). Separate very large day room with two sofas, washbasin, fridge. Two veranda/balcony areas. Beach just across road. Sunbeds on the beach by others but free as long as you bought a drink from their bar, which was in front of the hotel but run by others. Small pool but very fit for purpose. We had the breakfast which was a la carte, not buffet, but perfect for our needs.

We had no dislikes. It had no evening restaurant but the hotel was surrounded by independantly run restaurants of every variety.

Staff were exceptional.From Dina and Filio who were most helpful and accomodated all our requests and answered all our questions always with a smile .The housekeeping team of maria and angelina did a great job everyday keeping our room tidy.The bar based at the hotel was very popular and there was never any issue with noise levels upsetting residents.Great location opposite the beach,close to a selection of bars and restaurants.Old Town is about 20mins walk away and best visited when the Sun goes down for the real magic

- very friendly and helpful staff - rooms are big and freshly renovated - beds are very comfortable - location is really nice. Around 20-30 from the old town (or a 6€ taxi drive), however it's directly at the beach with some good beach bars around. Also you can easily find a parking spot for your rental car - nice bathroom and shower - it was quiet (despite some other reviews saying that it wasn't)

- the WiFi was bad and didn't work most times or was really slow so I had to use my mobile network

The hotel was amazing. I had a spacious newly renovated room. Everything was very clean and fresh. The bathroom was perfect, the shower had really hot water and a good water flow. The wifi dropped a couple of times but in general it was good. The hotel is about 20-30 mins walk from the city center but there're plenty of shops, restaurants and other places in the area. It's quiet at night. The stuff stayed up after midnight to meet me. In general they were very friendly and helpful with any question that I had. For example, they helped me cover the window in the bathroom as it was letting to much light into the main room in the morning — a pretty creative thing.

The breakfast was nice but it was the same every day. I stayed for two weeks so I got a bit tired of it.

Our stay at Batis was excellent 👌 The room is modern, very clean, spacious and with an amazing view of the sea. The staff was very friendly and helpful - an example of good hospitality - special thanks to Albina for making our stay nicer! The location is also good - a 15-20 min walk away from the Marina - but still in a good place for the beach and with great restaurants nearby - while keeping it pretty chill (not that noisy like in the old town) If you're looking for a great stay in Rethymno - this is the place!

Fantastic breakfast, generous choice of breads, cake, croissants plus meat, cheese, sausages ,olives and peppers. Geat omelettes, scrambled or boiled eggs..Plus yogurt with honey, muesli,fresh fruit. Tea, coffee and orange juice. All served on a lovely rooftop with seaviews Well situated for beach across the road with service for food and drinks. Cactus Bar in front of hotel is a great place to enjoy a welcome cool drink Bedroom 306 spotless, roomy, Aircon efficient ,much appreciated in the scorching heat . Side sea view , very quiet, no noise from promenade or cactus bar Without exception the staff were always so friendly and efficient, we felt like part of a Batis family. As we left yesterday we were waved off with a fond goodbye .

Lighting required above mirrors, a lack of drawers and wardrobe space with more hangers and longer space for dresses

I cannot recommend more this hotel. It had everything we needed. The room looked exactly as in the pictures, the view from the balcony was amazing and the overall suite was very clean and spacious. The staff was very kind and supportive with everything we needed. The wifi signal was good, the breakfast diverse. Regarding parking, even though the hotel doesn’t offer private parking there are plenty of spots close by where you can park the car. The hotel is very well placed, very close to lots of restaurants, supermarkets. There’s also right in front of the hotel a bar open up until late in the evening (1-2am), and the best part… you cross the street and you are right on the beach. The beach is sandy, with clear water and nice sunbeds. At sunset you can watch a pirate cruise leaving the port, it’s simply amazing for enjoying a chill summer evening!

Beautiful and very clean property with amazing staff!! The room was always clean, there was a cleaning service everyday! The room facilities were just so good, climatisation/bathroom etc. The hotel is located on the less crowded part of the Rethymno beach. Just near the hotel there is a cocktail bar called cactus and you can swim over there if you want to chill only at the beach. The most importantly, the staff were amazing! Maya and Albina helped us a lot to book a table in a restaurant or to find the right bus for our trips etc. They recommend really local activities. I felt like very much in an environment that the staff cares about you. It was overall amazing. Thank you for this wonderful Crete experience. Me and my husband enjoyed a lot this lovely hotel.😊

Everything was excellent.

The staff were friendly, the room was very big with a separate bedroom and lounge area, with a balcony overlooking the beach.

The hotel was close to the beach. It was a bit of a walk to the old town maybe 15 mins. But if you wanted to be near the beach like us it was perfect. Lots of cafes, restaurants and mini supermarkets nearby.

The hotel was newly renovated, comfortable and with a great location for the beach! Old Town a good 25 minute walk. Bed was extremely comfortable and the efficient AC very welcome.Staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful with good communication. Breakfast views from the roof were fantastic. Pool area was small but nice to sit in the shade of a late afternoon.

Not really a dislike but I thought the table service breakfast arrangements quite hard on the staff - particularly if everyone arrives at once.
