Location: it’s all about the location and the amazing views from the balcony and from the island to Santorini and the Caldera; Therasia is amazing and a great place to relax and enjoy the Cyclades, without the hassle of Santorini… the hotel was nice and well kept; the room was nice but on the short side, the bathroom was okay.

There is no reception, i.e. it is a ‘virtual’ one, you contact the manager by whatsapp; The bed was not so comfortable; breakfast was provided in the fridge (sliced toast bread, ham & cheese, butter, jam, juice) and you prepare it; there’s even ground coffee and a coffee filter machine, as well as s machine to make toasts; not very practical to do though and the thing is that it’s too hot in the terrace to have breakfast and no table inside… And be lucky if the neighbours in the upper rooms don’t use their jacuzzi at midnight, which makes a lot of noise…

The view from the terrace was magical, you open the room’s door and you have the caldera in front of view (the hotel is sited up on a high hill). If you are looking for a quiet stay this is the right spot (there are around 300 people that live on the island).

The hotel is sited on Thirassia, the island in front of Santorini. The closest town is Oia (just 10 minutes distance) that you can reach only by ferry which costs 1€ per person. The critical point is that there are only 4 ferry trips per day (7:45; 12:30; 17:30; 20:45). Moreover, the hotel is 5km far from the port, which means you have to ask the hotel to arrange a taxi (10€ for ride) or take the bus (which takes you at the right time for each ferry trip but is not available for the last one at 21:00).

Location is fantastic. The pace of life on the island is so slow it won't suit everyone. The contrast to Santorini is unbelievable. Just looking out to sea (sun rise or moon rise) in the hot tub with the swifts diving around the mountainside was such a relaxing experience. The assistance from the staff was also excellent, helping us with travel across Santorini and up to the hotel from the port.

I can't fault it in anyway. I just hope that Santorini style mass tourism doesn't make its way across the 3km hop. I guess for some people, it would be ideal if there was a late night taxiboat / ferry to from Ola to give you more options but that wasn't an issue for us.

The room was beautiful, the view amazing and it was a quite place.

Huge opportunity for some kind of mobile rental transport e.g e-bikes or scooters. So much to explore, but the terrain makes it challenging.

Maria is a very nice person, always there to help you with everything you need. The view is amazing and it is very quiet.

It takes a ferry to get there, which is available only 3 times a day.

the view is spectacular & being in a quiet, traditional village next to the huge numbers of people on the main island was the best of both worlds.
