A true gem in Atitlan. Indescribable beauty of hotel gardens! The place was uniquely decorated, the gardens were full of birds, the view from the restaurant and pool to the lake and vulcano - unforgettable. The hotel offers private boat from their dock service to multiple lake villages which was very convenient. The property is located in the outskirts of Pana, but walking distance to the center (20mjn), or a short tuk tuk ride (10q). We were hesitant to book hotel, because it did not have air conditioner, but the weather near the lake is so cool in the evenings that we slept comfortably. This hotel was favorite for our kids, because pool was very nice, they could walk the gardens and also interact with a large colorful parrot- Matilda! Would recommend 100% if you are staying in the Atitlan area.

The most stunning property. We spent 3 days here and the views from the pool could not be beat. the food was lovely but pricey for Guatemala standards. Breakfast on sundays was insane, so if you can be there for that do it. The gardens were manicured to perfection. I will be back.

Staff needed to communicate costs of items before taking orders. We saw instances where we saw other guests gasp over a $25USD breakfast and they wish they would of been informed prior. The towns nearby are very touristic and dirty, we toured 3 of them in one day and that was enough for us. We mostly stayed on the property.

This hotel delivered way more than I ever expected. The property grounds and gardens were absolutely immaculate and serene. The level of love and attention the staff puts into caring for the facility and guests is amazing. The pools were clean and the temperature perfect. The restaurant staff were so friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious with high quality ingredients and beautifully presented. Tuktuks were available whenever we wanted to go to town.

I’m not sure if she was the owner/manager, but the older lady who seemed to be in charge was not friendly, and in one instance we had to wait to talk to the front desk staff while she admonished him in front of us. I felt sorry for all the staff we saw her treating meanly, and I felt heavy for the sadness she must hold being full of so much anger. It was not a good look for such a beautiful hotel that otherwise held so much positive energy.

no room service no tea/coffee facilities in room gardening machinery is noisy and starts early garden irrigation goes on through the day instead of during cooler night time low shower water pressure it’s a bit of a lottery to get a sun bed, more would be better

The hotel is just outside of Panajachel on a quiet cove, so you are removed from the noise and hustle of Pana but close enough to take a Q20 tuk-tuk or a 20-minute walk into town. The grounds of the hotel are gorgeous - beautifully manicured gardens with interesting local floral and some colorful birds. The large hot tub is an oasis at the end of the day, with a stunning view of the volcanoes! And our room with a view was very clean, with comfortable beds and nice linens. The patio from the room also was a perfect place to watch the sunrise as it brings into focus the stunning lake and volcanoes! The restaurant also had some great food - our favorite being the Guatemalan “Tipico” meals. Lastly, the hotel is located five minutes walking from the Reserva, which offers a great trail up the mountain where you can see monkeys and coatis, as well as visit the Butterfly pavilion. All very worthwhile! The zip-line is also available there.

One morning, the only breakfast offer was a buffet, which I’m not super fond of but many people are so it wasn’t a big problem.

We booked this hotel last minute and late at night. Booking confirmed our hotel, but I knew there was a chance that they might not have confirmed themselves. When we got there, because of the last minute booking their receptionist had already left. Regardless, the guy was super sweet and when we called upper management, they told him to accommodate us and that they would handle it in the morning. They were able to keep us in our room for the two nights that we were there. Very helpful.

Hotel Atitlan is a lovely property, full of antiques and incredible cultural art. The views of the lake and volcano were spectacular. The restaurant was very good, and the staff at the restaurant and housekeeping were excellent. Getting a tuc-tuc was very easy, and the grounds were wonderful to explore.

Our stay was limited by the refusal of the front desk to give us the king bed we had booked through booking.com. We were given a room with two full beds, and after expressing disappointment the first night, we were not asked or approached to change our situation. The restaurant food was very good, but it was pricey to attend breakfast on the weekends and have a highly priced buffet as the main option. We did ask for a menu, but were told that ordering off the menu would take a longer time, and overall you could see that they preferred you to eat at the buffet. The location is off the beaten path, which is a real plus, but you'll have to be comfortable taking a tuc-tuc into town if you're looking to eat out or party in Pana.

great location. A tuk tuk to ferry or town center was a short 10 minute ride. Right next to the lake with beautiful views. Gardens are very good. Had considered AirBnB (Balam Ya) but glad that I stayed at Hotel Atitlan because of access to town center. Reviewers had complained about hot water - I had no issues. Taxi to airport arrived exactly on time.

Very very poor WiFi. No coffee/tea in room. Some furniture, not all, in room is not classy. It looks cheap trying to replicate 'antique.' All rooms have balconies facing the lake but views from some rooms (e.g. 207) is obscured by tall trees in the gardens. Tuk tuks are not readily available at hotel. Each time had a wait 20 minutes after requesting one. Pool closes at 6pm, a bit too early for a vacation spot.

We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Atitlan. The rooms are spacious and beds were comfortable. And the view from our double bed normal room was breathtaking as it looked out onto the garden, lake and volcano. The gardens are so very well kept and relaxing to walk through. You can tell how much love and care goes into the grounds. The restaurant and pools also have stunning views of the lake and volcano. I stayed here with my husband and 3 and 5 year olds. While we only saw one other small kid at the hotel, it was super kid friendly. The hotel was great with helping us with a tuk tuk ride into town and with setting up a boat ride to another village on the lake. I would without a doubt stay here again.

The bathroom had some mold on the ceiling and everything is a bit dated. Overall those things didn't bother us and again I'd highly recommend staying at this hotel!

The garden is very beautiful. Our room is big, with lake view and a very pleasant balcony, where we enjoyed our breakfast.

The location is a little bit far from the town Pana. The restaurant in the hotel is pricy compared to those in town.
