it is a very nice hotel, a nice pool, very nice staff working in the pool area housekeeping were the best good location

very expensive breakfast, a-la-carte breakfast is even more expensive (value for money). We ordered breakfast for 2 adults and pancakes for a child. There is a plate of fruit coming with a full breakfast (adults). We asked for fruit for our child as well, they wanted to charge us extra - AWFUL, zero customer service...... you sit down and with a buffet breakfast, the first thing you see is a bill, they hassle you about it.......like really, even before you get your coffee Kids club was closed, we were there after Easter so could still be open. Concierge lady had no idea about kids club...... No signs on the door.

Nice place to stay if you love a resort vibe. It's a great location in the heart of Panajachel. Overall we enjoyed our stay and the staff were friendly, helpful and kind. We stayed at some smaller places in other towns on the lake and found them more charming but this was a great place to reset after the long journey from the United States to Lake Atitlan. We would recommend this hotel for travelers who prioritize comfort and amenities over cultural immersion. It is a very nice hotel.

The huge empty courtyard diminishes the view a bit. Our friends were also staying in Panajachel. The doorman would not allow them to come up, even for just five minutes, to see our room. We understand, rules are rules, but it would have been nice to allow them to see where we were staying (might have made future customers out of them too). Most big hotels like this have a no guest policy so this wasn't unexpected, still kind of a bummer though.

Excellent location, right in front of the pier where the boats go out. Beautiful view from the (recently renovated) rooms and very friendly staff at the reception.

The restaurant needs improvement: very average food for high prices, no possibility to seat on the terrace/ deck with the view for some reason, only inside. Staff there wasn’t very helpful/ friendly. There is a kids club which is one of the reasons we booked this hotel but only open on weekends, a pity! The playground is small, under the sun most of the time and needs maintenance.

Beautiful hotel in the Italian Lago-Style right on the Lake. Friendly staff, good location and overall good amenities; good food options and Sunday breakfasts that include a (n albeit touristy) Marinba show. The big plus for us is the kids' club on the weekend, including an open-air movie night with popcorn on Saturday for the kids. Given all the amenities, we also didn't spend more than for average weekends on the beach, which makes this place good value too. Enjoyed every minute, will be back!

The playground (without the kids club) needs benches/sitting possibilities with tables for drinks, shade and is overall careless in design. A makeover would make this hotel even more family friendly as the kids club's opening times are limited to the weekends.

Great location. The room that had air conditioning was comfortable. Parking was easy.

The pool was cold, and the hot tubs were only available by reservation (and they were lukewarm the first day and too hot the second day). Poolside service was very slow. Chose the hotel because it said it had air conditioning, but that only applied to one of the 3 rooms. Since we were there in the dry season, the rooms were very hot.

EVERYTHING! The hotel location is perfectly situated in the town of Panachel, steps from Lake Atitlan. The grounds and the entire grounds are kept in immaculate condition and there is staff everywhere to assist. They offer buffet meals at a reasonable price and menus as well. Our room was very spacious, exceptionally clean and each room has a lake view with a balcony. Hot water was excellent, as well as the WIFI. Beds perfectly comfortable. Filtered drinking water offered on every floor. All in all this is a top notch hotel and we would return!

The only recommendation I'd give is to have the front desk staff let patrons know more details of not just the hotel but also the dining options and any special activities. We were here over Easter weekend and were not told about the very special Sunday night dinner they had planned nor the Easter festivities for our child Easter Sunday AM. No one told us about the facilities or the dining options. We found all out on our own, in some cases, too late.

The property is very clean. It’s right on the lake with amazing lake views for all the rooms in the property. Nice buffet. Great kids club.

The AC in the room sometimes doesn’t work and the cleaning lady just stops AC in the middle of the day. The pool is not heated and it’s pretty cold even in a hot day. You need to book Jacuzzi and it’s a waitlist to visit Jacuzzi. They have different prices for locals.

Amazing hotel, resort style, neat and moderately stylish. Waterfront, beautiful pool and directly in front of one of the best sunsets. Shower after a long day, and walk to the right corner for a fresh Michelada at the pier, or walk left to the array of markets and restaurants. I could see a volcano from my balcony window.

Hotel should offer breakfast for the value, at least coffee, fruits and pastries.

We really enjoyed our stay at Porta Hotel del Lago. The hotel was a perfect place to stay with kids, we spent our afternoons at the pool. It was well located very close to the lanchas and Calle Santander yet still a quiet and peaceful reprieve from the hustle and bustle. The staff were all wonderful and kind. I highly recommend for anyone staying in Pana with a family.

Amazing views of the lake, nice location for walking to other establishments in Pana plus the docks to catch boats to other towns. Nice pool and playground as well as play and activities room for kids make this place fabulous for families.

the balcony rails are extremely low and terrifying in my view. I have both a 3 year old and a six foot husband. I was sure both were going to go over the side. If you have small kids or have been drinking, I would stay off the balcony. But the views are amazing. taking my coffee there early in the morning was breathtaking. Porto - please upgrade those rails! :) otherwise we had a really great stay.
