Inside the reception area is clean and welcoming and the staff were fantastic, all the staff we interacted with had perfect English and were extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms were with good AC, fridge in room, free safe and tea making facilities which all added to our comfort. Beds were very comfortable and the room was spacious and spotlessly clean, as was the bathroom. The restaurant was very spacious, breakfast had plenty of choices, everything in both English and Hungarian so we could understand what we were eating and the food was fresh and well cooked. The swimming pool/spa was also spotlessly clean The hotel is near two convenient bus stops served by at least 3 buses. The view is amazing, the hotel being situated near the Danube River. Just across the road is a convenience store.

Fabulous hotel with lovely staff.Check in easy and quick.Decor in the hotel is fab and the hotel is spotless.Room was on the 6th floor and newly refurbished.The room is fantastic with great views of the Danube.Bed big and very comfortable.Shower great and the room has huge TV,tea/coffee facilities,small fridge and safe.The lighting in the room is excellent and there is a few plugs at the bed.Food in the bistro is lovely and worth a visit.Breakfast can be a very busy time if you go around 9am.The choice is excellent.To much to name but choice of cereals, yoghurt,bread,pastries,juices,cold meat,cheese and a selection of hot food sausage,egg,bacon,beans,and a choice to have a freshly made omelette.The pool is excellent and has 2 pools at different temperatures.The jacuzzi is also lovely and warm between 36-38 degrees.The hotel is close to the city and just 2km from the parliament building and the shoes of the Danube.Bus stop and metro line within 5 mins.

Rooms can be very warm at night even with AC running.

Leisure facilities and breakfast

Room was very dusty when we checked-in. Had to call housekeepers to refresh and hoover. It was full of dirt and fluff around. This area needs more attention. But we loved our stay, a clean and tidy place apart from this experience. Seems a newly renovated place, so great facilities.

The location and cleanliness

The food was not the best. I have never seen a hotel that has the SAME breakfast throughout. Stayed for 8 nights and it kinda got boring. My kids hated it at last. Then dinner was on and off. Some days it was good, some days it was not. They need a new chef.

I visited Budapest for the spring half marathon. The hotel is within walking distance from Margaret’s island. I could easily walk there to pick up my race number the day before. On race day I wasn’t stressed about public transport. I walked stress free to the starting line. After my race I enjoyed the hotel’s spa facilities. The hotel is also near the metro station so I could easily visit the rest of the city. Breakfast was super rich. I had several meals at the hotel’s yellow restaurant. I couldn’t resist their risotto. So delicious! Extra friendly and kind staff. They are also fluent enough in English. Great location, great facilities, great staff and definitely a value for money choice. I would definitely stay in this hotel again and again.

1. Spa: The spa was good, including a steam room, a swimming pool, 2 hot tabs. 2. Room: The room was quite comfortable and quiet. The river view was very nice 3. Breakfast: In general was OK 4. Parking: For those who rent a car, the is a lot of free parking just in front of the hotel (bus & supermarket parking, not the one who is adjacent to the hotel) 5. Location & Transportation: Good. The nearest Metro station (Dózsa György út M) is 400m from the hotel. However there is a bus station just nearby, very high bus frequency (lines 75, 75A, 79), one station ride to Metro station (instead of walking 400m).

1. Lobby: Unpleasant odor in the Lobby 2. Spa: In the Jacuzzi (36-38 deg), every 10 minutes of operation the bubble engine stopped for 10 minutes. Very annoying 3. Breakfast: A little bit boring. A lot of pork dishes, but quite poor selection of cheeses and vegetables (for example no pepper at all, just tomatoes & cucumbers). Also poor selection of deserts. I would rate the breakfast "good" or at most "very good", but definitely not "Excellent" as stated! 4. Bathroom: In the room, the bathroom was very very small. Not suitable for two people. In addition, water licked from the shower down to to the floor so we found ourselves cleaning and drying the floor using towels after each shower.

I have been many times to this hotel, and will return because it matches my needs perfectly. The room is comfortable, the spa area is delightful, and both inside the hotel and outside on the terrace there are inviting, comfortable seating areas. Check-in and out was fast and easy. Hotel Helia has all of what I appreciate, a delightful swimming pool with many facilities, hot water pools, sauna, water fitness, massage, good service and much more. Very good buffet breakfast in the main restaurant, and also a good bistro restaurant with tasty dishes for snacks and simple meals, lovely walk terrain behind the hotel along the Danube with many chairs, benches and even reclining chairs at the quay to rest on if needed. Very good central location with excellent bus service just outside the hotel and a supermarket opposite the hotel. Coffee, tea and fridge in the room and more. Metro M3 is nearby and airport transportation is easy with airport bus 100 E to Kalvin Ter and bus 15 (from Kecskemeti utca to Drava utca) makes it very simple for airport travel from/to airport without climbing metro stairs or looking for elevator and only 3 minute walks! I find Google maps ideal for planning and finding where the bus stops are located. For those who are EU citizens and 65+ public transportation is free. The hotel is inviting to children and dogs, but only if they are well-behaved and the hotel requires this, which is good!

Only minor issue was the card key, which sometimes opened easily, other times only after several tries! No problem, staff available for help, but perhaps the lock needs checking.

The best hotel in budupest!!!. This is our third time at this hotel and we will definitely return to it on every trip to Budapest. The hotel design is outstanding and very pleasant to stay in. The pool and spa are excellent and very luxurious. The hotel is incredibly clean and well maintained. The breakfast is delicious and varied. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from a metro station and about 100 meters from a bus stop. The staff is allways friendly, smiling and provides wholehearted service. It seems that the hotel has thought of everything to provide a pleasant stay and Fulfill all of the hotel guest requests. Flavored water is served at the entrance to the hotel and there is a cold water and soda dispenser at the pool. We received a new bottle of water in our room every day. In short, a very high standard hotel and highly recommended.

There are few TV channels, and most of them are not in English.

It was my second time staying in Budapest and I really enjoyed staying in Danubius Hotel Helia! I would definitely recommend. - Close to Dorza tram (~10 min walk) which connects you to multiple sights and even to the airport bus. - Staff are really friendly! - Spa was insane, so lush! The Jacuzzi, pool and sauna were a pleasure to use. - Champagne in the morning breakfast - not sure if this was because our stay was during Easter. - Really clean rooms, overlooking a stunning river view. - Super close to Prosecco Unlimited Cruise (~11 min walk) and Hungarian Parliament!

Everything was lush and this wouldn’t put me off staying. Breakfast was lovely however there were limited vegan options so it would be lovely to see more but equally understand if there isn’t as it is a new concept.

The food was lovely (good breakfast buffet and the bar menu was fantastic - I recommend the Club Sandwich)! Staff are very friendly and always willing to help you in anyway that will make your stay more comfortable! The hotel is really well located, right beside the Danube River with a view of Margaret Island. The streets around the hotel are quiet, clean and tree-lined, so the 10 minute walk into the busy area of the city is really pleasant. There is also a grocery store right across the street! The room was fabulous - balcony had an amazing view, the bed was comfortable, the shower was huge with good water pressure and the decor is really nicely done. Housekeeping services are great, everyday our bed was made and we were provided with fresh towels. The spa facilities are lovely - there are 4 pools to choose from, a sun deck on the roof, a 2-story gym, various treatment rooms where you can get massages (you must book at the spa reception for the wellness treatments). Bathrobes and slippers are provided in your room for use at the spa. An amazing way to unwind after a long day of exploring the streets of Budapest! I had an amazing experience as a guest at the Danubius Hotel Helia, and I stayed for a week. Thank you, and I can’t wait to return! My trip to Budapest was one of the best trips I have been on, and the Danubius Hotel Helia played a huge part in this!
