The hotel is located in an area close to the city center and main tourist attractions, with easy access to bus, tram, and the M3 metro station. We were pleasantly surprised that, although we arrived a few hours before the official check-in time (2:00 PM), the room was made available to us immediately, without having to wait. The hotel has a terrace designated for smokers, which we, being smokers ourselves, made good use of. The breakfast was in line with the standards for this type of hotel. The selection wasn't very varied, but overall it was satisfactory. (This is strictly a personal opinion) The front desk staff were extremely polite—perhaps even too polite for my taste. Every time we passed through reception, we were greeted and asked how our day had been or whether we were enjoying our stay. While I appreciate friendliness and courtesy, I would have preferred a more discreet approach. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay, and I will look for this hotel when I return to Budapest. I will also recommend it to others.

Very few TV channels, with only one or two in English. Perhaps the bathroom could use more places to hang towels.

I had a wonderful stay at Mera Hotel in Budapest. The receptionists were extremely friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile. The room was cosy, quiet, and very comfortable – perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring the city. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the attention to detail really made a difference. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Budapest!

The breakfast was good and fresh, with lots of delicious, freshly baked pastries. However, it would have been even better with a greater variety of fruit.

Great location - 5-15 minutes' walk to all main attractions and restaurants. Nice rooms (in fact they are even better than in the photos). Very friendly and helpful staff. You get the feeling that you are in a 5* hotel - all issues are dealt with immediately and with a positive attitude. A welcome glass of wine is also nice :). The only thing I didn't like: coffee at breakfast. Everything else: 10 out of 10. We spent 4 days here and we would like to come back to this hotel again if we stay in Budapest. The rooms are more suitable for couples as there is a shower with a glass door. The glass is not very transparent, but in any case it may cause some discomfort for some people, just be aware of it. The rooms are large and quiet. Plenty of space for a stuff. Comfortable beds and pillows. Good breakfasts.

The staff were all excellent and this was what stood out most - very friendly and helpful, especially Kristophe on reception who was always happy to answer our questions and give advice and suggestions. We were given a welcome glass of wine, suggestions for restaurants, pamphlets for tours which the hotel were happy to book, and other advice and tips for our stay in Budapest. Every day, the staff asked if there was anything they could help us with and anything we asked for in the hotel eg extra pillows, was dealt with immediately. Our first floor room was large and comfortable with a walk in shower and plenty of shelves and hanging space for clothes. Although on a busy road, the triple glazing meant that although we had asked for a city view room, noise was not a problem - we were not disturbed by noise at all. As it was too early in the season for the change to have been made from heating to air conditioning ( although we could switch the heating off) it was good to be able to open the windows for a couple of hours in the evening when the weather had been 25 degrees during the day. The location was good as it was just along the road from St Stephen's and easy to walk nearly everywhere with plenty of restaurants nearby. We asked in the hotel about public transport which we then used a few times ( trams, buses and metro) eg to go to Heroes Square and it was easy to use and reliable with the same tickets used for each type of transport. There is a metro station just across the road. Breakfast was good with various pastries and cakes, cheese, cold meat, salad, yoghurt, several types of bread and rolls, some fresh fruit, cereals, eggs, sausages, hash browns etc as well as a selection of coffees (machine) and teas. Although the coffee was from a machine, it was good quality.

We would have liked some more fresh fruit at breakfast eg melon, pineapple, grapes but the breakfast was very good. The road outside is very busy. As mentioned though, there is no problem with noise when in the hotel. It just would have been nice to step out to a quieter street. These are very minor points though.

Great location for culture; restaurants; and transportation. Very clean. The room was made-up perfectly each day. Staff were so super friendly. Very quiet, which we greatly appreciated.

I feel the website and pictures are a little misleading, as it looks like you could get a room overlooking (as in, high up) the quad. In fact, *all* of the rooms are only on one floor; level with the tented quad. The picture showing a corridor and room doors shows the entire set of the rooms in the hotel, everything above - with the metal railings and balconies - are private apartments.

Perfect stay in the heart of Budapest – made my birthday trip extra special! We stayed here as part of our trip through Europe and absolutely loved it. The hotel is in a fantastic location – very close to the city centre with excellent transport links, making it super easy to explore Budapest. Our flight arrived late and we didn’t get to the hotel until around 1:30am, but we were warmly welcomed by a lovely gentleman at reception who offered us a glass of wine and gave us a tour of the hotel – such a thoughtful touch, especially after a long travel day. The room was spotless, exactly as described and shown in the photos, and very comfortable. Everything felt fresh and well looked after. We had a great night’s sleep and felt so at home during our stay. The staff were all genuinely kind and helpful – you can tell they really care about their guests. We’ll 100% stay here again next time we’re in Budapest. Highly recommend!

Perfect location, very clean, always had clean towels & sheets in the room. Very friendly staff, good breakfast options and we always had a place to sit, even at peak hours (9-10am). I appreciated the fact that the walls and door are soundproof, so we were not bothered at all by other guesrs. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at Mera Hotel.

Just a couple of small things: the fan from the AC was loud, so it bothered us a bit. Also we could hear the traffic from the main street quite well. The bathroom concept was a bit odd as well.

The location is quite amazing, in a nice central spot almost 15 to 20 minutes away in all directions to all noteworthy landmarks. The hotel staff are nice, attentive. We got welcomed and offered two glasses of wine. They reception is 24h, and they helped us book a taxi after midnight. The rooms are cosy and clean, no noise with good Internet.

The breakfast is OK. Almost the same every day, sometimes a bit cold. There is no water in the room. No slippers. One day at the reception, they told us that there was a remark reported that the desk had scratches and a souvenir knife was left nearby. We were surprised as we did not buy a knife, and we went up and checked every single wooden surface, and there was not a single scratch. I think they got the room number reported wrong, This was unpleasant, but despite that, the stay was truly amazing and highly recommended.

I was very impressed, first and foremost, with the friendliness and helpfulness of all the different staff members I interacted with over the course of my stay. They all spoke excellent English and were very patient and accommodating in regards to whatever questions I had for them. The hotel is conveniently located just a few minutes away from several of the city's key sights and districts, and I really appreciated the amount of effort that was invested into making the rooms and common areas comfortable and inviting. Everything had a clean and modern aesthetic, there was a high quality breakfast buffet, and, even though I don't drink alcohol, the complimentary glasses of Hungarian wine offered to guests upon checking in was a nice touch! I'd definitely stay here again if the opportunity ever presented itself!

As the hotel is not a stand-alone building, the layout of the different floors - as well as the various means of accessing them - can come across as confusing and labyrinthine at first, and so it may take guests a couple of days to remember where exactly everything is and how to get there. Also, as happy as I was with my room, there was a constant, faint rattling sound coming from my air conditioner (which, because I was visiting in August, was necessary to have on almost all the time) that occasionally made it difficult to sleep or think straight, so I'm really hoping their maintenance crew was able to take care of that before someone else moved in.

The location was perfect - a few minutes away from the Basilica - no need to catch public transportation to reach the center. The bed and the shower were very comfortable. The hotel’s staff was very kind and friendly. Towels were changed every day (upon request), and the room was warm and welcoming.

The building looks a bit old on the outside (but rooms are very modern) - the hotel’s rooms are located just on the first floor of the building, private apartments are on the other floors (whose residents use the same entrance as hotel’s one). Breakfast is very expensive - this is why we chose to have breakfast at a nearby bakery. No hotel slippers were provided in the room. Shower towels were too small. We had a double bed and two separated duvets (we would have preferred a single big one for a double bed)
