The location of the property and the cooperation of the staff.

I stayed in room no 3015. The lift column is next to it. All the 24 hours, whenever the lift is used by anyone, there is an uncanny noise associated with it, which can be quite disturbing especially in the night when everything is very quiet. I suggest that the hotel should stop allotting guests to room no 3015 or else change their lift equipment. I got away with it and didn't ask for a room change as I was away most of the time due to my work schedule.

We wanted a one night stay near the airport and this was ideal. It’s just three stops on the Metro plus a ten minute walk. It is some distance from the city centre and there aren’t many restaurants nearby. The hotel is quite a grand place with a pleasant garden and lovely pool. Staff were very attentive and helpful. Breakfast was very good with a lot of choice. We had an Executive King Room, which was huge and well equipped. Unfortunately, it was beginning to show its age and needed a bit of refurbishing here and there. Having said that, we had a very enjoyable stay.

Comfortable and relaxing after a hectic work day... the ambience was 9/10, food at the ethnic south Indian restaurant was 10/10, staff at the hotel everywhere was 9/10 Will surely visit and recommend again!

Bathroom needs maintenance. Understanding the age of the hotel, fittings need replacement. There was a leakage problem in my bathroom which I bring to the notice of front desk at the time of checking out. Corridors seemed a little dingy to me (architect's perspective did come in from me)

I was not feeling well when I arrived so I had two meals in my room, the staff were very flexible when I asked for something that was not on the menu - they allowed me to have it. Also, I told them I was not feeling well and a young woman said she would check on me which she did, that day and the next. I felt the service was very caring.

There was nothing I didn't like.

Hi Everyone it was very warm welcoming and my pleasure to stay at Le Royal Meridien at Chennai. From the Reception till the room service is excellent. My only concern is high room rent. But I really enjoyed with your hospitality. Safe and Secure. I will surely recommend to my friends and family. All the very best guys.

I only had Dal Khichadi for all 3 days which was good. Dinner is very expensive should be at least 30% cheaper probably it would have more footfalls.

Bathroom light couldn't be turned off as there was a problem in console. Staff tried but couldn't fixed either. I locked the bathroom for all 3 days at night. That's a waste of energy. My room was 1086

Location and public spaces

Rooms badly needing renovated. Door frame rotted away, paintwork generally needing done, dreadful black stains all around the bath. Not one of the 3 shampoo, body wash, or conditioner filled up all empty! Teamaker not working, nor tv or sockets on one side of room, turned out to be a circuit problem.

The lobby was very majestic, the employees at the reception were very welcoming and assisting. The rooms were very classy with solid furniture and the bathroom was well-lit with huge mirrors, a huge plus. The inclusive south-Indian and continental breakfast was very delicious. The room service was quick, clean and effective.

Not everything was fully functional all the time. One of the two elevators that was closest to our room was not working for the last couple of days of the stay. The carpets in both of our rooms were dusty. The spa was not available on all days. There was no hair-dryer available. On one particular day of our stay, there was a power-outage for a short period of time, followed by dry-running pipes for an hour or so.

The lobby and the rooms were beautiful and very clean. Comfortable beds and a great bathroom. The amenities were fresh and well stocked. Staff are polite and generally very well equipped to understand guest queries.

The restaurant, Cilantro. While the staff at the restaurant are very polite, the food is tasteless and of very poor quality. The spread is skewed more towards non vegetarian food, and the vegetarian options are extremely limited. Would have liked a better restaurant with more options.

Check in staff were good. The Spa connected to the hotel was good value. I enjoyed the buffet restaurant for dinner, but most dishes were too spicy for me.
