Deserve a great concept. The agraharam has been maintained in its pristine condition. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. The bathroom facilities were also excellent. The buffet dinner was north Indian style, but they did serve dosas. The breakfast was typical Tamil Nadu and Kerala style. It was all vegetarian and the spice level was just right for us. The owner lives in the property and greets every visitor. We had a chance to talk to him. It’s impressive the work he has done to make this brand new concept possible. The Agraharam brought back back memories of my childhood when I visited my grandparents at their home in Lalgudi near Trichy. By Indian standards, the hotel room rates are one of the highest . But for the experience, I would say that you got them value for your money. We certainly would visit their other two properties for the experience. We were. surprised that the Hindu’s spiritual leader, Sankaracharya had a vacation room here which has been preserved in its pristine condition .

We loved the philosophy of the hotel and its founder in saving a heritage building but also actively supporting the local community. Steve was an active presence throughout our stay and his friendly and welcoming manner was personified in his staff too. They were all very friendly approachable and attentive. Our room was large and comfortable breakfast was good. The pool was lovely and I had a wonderful massage.

The grounds of the hotel are lovely but there is nowhere comfortable to sit and enjoy them the Stone and wooden benches would benefit from cushions. Evening buffet was disappointing limited choice. Hotel is a stopping point for large tour groups, so restaurant got very busy.

Interesting property. Dinner and breakfast were great. Staff were helpful. Overall very plesant and nice.

Bathrooms can be lot better. Bedsheets and the matress must be much better, they are pretty old. AC can be stronger, it was a basic AC I guess.

The atmosphere of he hotel is amazing - historical building, tradition, history, color, it is like a museum, you can take endless stroll and always come across something beautiful, astonishing. Rooms are like a palace chambers , very high ceilings, old furniture, and all set in the garden, with peacocks, ponds. It feels like a lucid dreaming

We loved the historical ambience, the personalized attention, and the location was incredible. The owner was available and he taught us so much about the area and the rich culture. The fact that this property is giving back to the local people and economy is very important to us. If we had known what a gem this place is, we would have planned twice as much time here. Our teenage son really didn't want to leave. Next time for sure!

The room was very hot and the AC was not cooling effectively. The room needs a bigger AC for cooling.

Old vibe, the place is just so resplendent with old memorabilia and really exudes a lovely laid back vibe. if you’re looking for posh amenities you will be pleasantly surprised with what can be achieved with simply available eco friendly methods adopted. the property is great for pets too. My pet Golden Retriever just loved being just around the property. definitely recommend this place if you’re travelling with pets and kids … and even otherwise. A great place to stay.

Best Indian Heritage feel and experience ever. Beautiful structures , rooms, terra Cota sculptures , paintings and Chola era antiques. Surprised to see the main structure of the hotel is built on top of hidden Chola era Tunnel. The owner of the hotel is very kind to explain the details of every items in their museum

I loved absolutely everything about this place! From how meticulously the owner had to decided to piece together different parts of history to the service, I would definitely revisit this place, many more times!
