Beautiful historic building. Rooms are extremely comfortable and meals were very good. The pool is large and the pool area is inviting, with plenty of space and loungers. The public areas of the hotel are beautiful. There were some special touches, like a very nice surprise birthday cake!

Some little issues prevent this being a 10. I lost wifi every time I changed location within the hotel. There was a charge ( small, unadvertised) for using the pool. The breakfast selection is not as extensive as it used to be, and quality of cooking and service was somewhat inconsistent.

Review: This was our first time in India as Europeans, and we couldn’t have been happier with our choice to stay at The Imperial Hotel! From the moment we landed to the time we departed, the staff went above and beyond to help us navigate this beautiful yet chaotic city. The taxis provided by the hotel were top-notch, the room was fantastic, and every single restaurant exceeded our expectations. The staff deserves nothing but praise for their professionalism and hospitality. If we ever return to India, we will definitely stay at The Imperial again. Thank you to everyone for making our stay so memorable!

Alles was perfect

We always stay at the imperial when in Delhi. I would not stay anywhere else, for me it has historic significance that attracts me here.

This time, to be clear its the first time, there were a lot minor issues on service 1) Dinner, ordered lamb chop which was tasty but extremely fatty which I spoke to the chef about. Basically cuts were of poor quality. 2) Lunch time - ordered the Dim Sum which came with 4 dips, and asked the waiter what the dips were and was told chilli and soya, and hurriedly walked away without describing the rest. Asked another waiter who then clearly described each one. Ordered dessert and requested tea to follow; tea comes first which I sent back to be served after dessert. Dessert arrived without the correct cutlery. Sloppy service but then again noticed a lot of new staff since the last time we were here.

I only stayed here for a grand total of 8 hours before my flight but still got to enjoy most of what the hotel could offer. Check in was smooth and efficient (own check in person to help you to your room) Room was comfortable, large and exceeded my expectations. I managed to visit the pool which is beautiful and a good size. The gym had everything you need for a good workout (unlike many other gyms in Delhi hotels) The spa was amazing and very reasonably priced. I managed to have a nice relax for 60 mins with the Imperial Iconic Massage which is well worth a try! I even managed to have a nice whisky in the 1911 bar which again was priced well and was very relaxing. All staff were attentive and always happy to engage in conversation which was lovely. They even prepared me a lovely breakfast bag since I was leaving in the middle of the night.

I just wish I could of stayed longer

It’s rare that you get to stay in a ‘living museum’. British Imperial-Colonial-Art Deco style. More than 5000 artworks. A marble table at breakfast where Gandhi and Nehru had discussions. Ask for a hotel tour if you want to know more. So much more than just a hotel full of generic rooms, this hotel showcases beautiful art deco architecture and design elements throughout, from the amazing floor tiling to the lighting in the rooms and hallways. Take the time to look at what you’re walking on, and think about the time and skill it must have taken to achieve such perfection! The real highlight of this hotel are the staff. Everyone says hello around the hotel. When you enter the hotel, there is a parade of staff in historic uniforms opening doors and welcoming you - we felt like movie stars!

Exquisite in every way. The staff, the food, the facilities, the ambiance, the heritage, the location.

One thing… The Imperial was at the end of a two week trip to India. Along the way, we stayed at Trident, Taj and heritage hotels in Mumbai, Udaipur, Jaipur and Agra. Every single one of those hotels had a better bed than the Imperial. The double bed was very hard and quite small and the bedding was starched so as to feel quite harsh rather than soft like the hotels mentioned. This is not a particularly negative comment as bedding is subjective. It would not stop me staying again. Just an observation really.

The hotel is located in the quiet area, across street from Jantar Mantar. It is perfect to explore New Delhi. It’s an amazing place!! The piece of art where you can admire paintings, sculptures & architecture, they paid the attention to every single details. The interior and exterior are spectacular. The room was spotless, big and furnished with a great taste. The bed was comfortable - had a very good sleep. I love the welcome coffee in the room, a real treat! The breakfast takes place in its restaurant on the ground floor. The big varieties of breads, pastries, cheese, veg, fruits and other delicious food. The people on the reception and in the hotel in general are very kind and friendly & helpful. They went above and beyond. When I come back to Delhi, I’ll stay here for sure. Thank you for your hospitality & see you soon.! Strongly recommended!!!

Everything was perfect.

It sounds like a cliche, but the smiles and warmth on the part of the staff are what really make this hotel special. The magnificent artwork, memorable dining, and nicely appointed rooms are all just icing on the cake.

There is no doubt that The Imperial is expensive, but for a one-time splurge, especially on a first-time visit to Delhi, it is the right thing to do. Given Delhi's great metro system, on a second visit I would choose something not quite as expensive near a metro stop.

The warm welcome , the willing staff, the airy ,large rooms, the beautiful blooms in all areas both public and private. the constant and abundant supply of bottled water, the furnishings, the attention to detail, the gardens the well kept pool area ( although we did not actually use the pool itself), the abundant and varied choice at breakfast, the variety of restaurants and of particular note the SPICE ROUTE all contributed to an outstanding experience. But these are just a few of the attributes of The Imperial. The staff in all areas were outstanding.

Nothing.
