Wonderful hotel. You are staying in a dreamland. The stay was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The hotel is located on the East Coast highway, in a peaceful area yet just a short drive from the city’s main attractions. Check-in was a breeze, with the staff greeting us warmly and efficiently. The room itself was immaculate, spacious, and thoughtfully designed, with a comfy bed, modern amenities, and a spotless bathroom stocked with high-quality toiletries. The restaurant served a fantastic breakfast buffet. The long pool was pristine and really eye catching. I Highly recommend this gem for anyone seeking comfort, quality, and genuine hospitality.

The pool was amazing, the property was very well maintained, and the hospitality was exceptional. The team made every effort to make the guests comfortable and feel special. They even upgraded our rooms to the king room without even asking. The recreational room has a wide variety of games. The magic show was brilliant. Food is good quality and they have a vast spread for buffet. The beach is very clean and has a magical sunset.

The paid activities are overpriced. Would be great if they could include the activities in the room tariff or lower down the price slightly.

The price for a night is high but for good reasons. The staff is very courteous and attentive. The whole hotel is clean and nicely decorated. We had an unfortunate incident in our room and we didn't want to make a fuzz about it but the hotel staff were extremely apologetic and did all they could to make us feel comfortable by changing our room (which we did not expect). We truly loved the breakfast as well! So many different options and a nice selection of fruits were included. Dining in the hotel is quite pricey but expected of the place you are staying in. I was especially impressed that during the hi-tea session, my dietary requirements were filled without questions. You can see that they want all of the guests to have a good snack and not to be left out. Also, the hi-tea session had really-really amazing food options in general. I would say it was lavish, exactly as the hotel itself. If you want to enjoy the sea and the waves, the hotel has a little strip of beach that is being constantly cleaned by the staff. Just sit down, relax and look into the abyss of nature.

This hotel could take a notch down on the air fresheners in closed areas. If you need to mask something, you probably need to deal with the root issue. For us the bigger issue was that all rooms had hard surfaced floors with doors having a little space under it, so whatever happened in the hall, you heard it in your room, therefore the sleep was disrupted until all guests went to sleep.

A Perfect Family Holiday Resort This resort provided an exceptional experience for our family holiday, making it a memorable and enjoyable stay from arrival to departure. Everything was thoughtfully managed and offered great value for money. Highlights: Front Desk Staff: Warm, welcoming, and efficient, ensuring a smooth check-in and check-out process. Restaurant Staff: Excellent service, with a special mention to Imtiaz from the Chai Station, whose masala chai was a hit, especially with my elderly parents. They absolutely loved it!

What Can Be Improved: While everything was impressive, one area for improvement would be the guest management during high tea. The crowd could feel a bit overwhelming at times. Additionally, the Rajasthani folk performance, although delightful, might be better scheduled later in the evening or after high tea to allow guests to enjoy both without feeling rushed. Overall, it was a truly wonderful stay, and we look forward to visiting again!

Loved everything about this place. Their welcome was good. We hardly had an hour to rest. They packed the stay with so much activities. High tea was from 4:30PM - 5:30PM. I have never seen a spread like this in any 5 star or 4 star hotel. They had so much variety and almost everything was delicious. They had a Rajasthani performance and a puppet show during high tea. It was enjoyable. We then headed to the beach and they had a professional photographer to take pictures. This is a paid option but our pics came out so well. We had a lovely time in the longest pool they have after that we went for a professional photoshoot by the pool that’s part of the package. The breakfast buffet was as amazing as the high tea.. After that we headed to the kids club for activities and we absolutely loved it. It was very well organised. Overall, It was an enjoyable experience for all of us and I would highly recommend this place and also I would love to visit this place again for their hospitable staff.

Nothing that I can think of

The staff were incredible, from cleaners to front of house, all so kind, caring & helpful. The welcome at reception was wonderful, Manjunath & Srayashi are a real asset to Kaldan Samudhra Palace. As a single lady traveller it is important to feel welcomed and at home. Food was all amazing from complimentary breakfast to high tea. Room was opulent, comfortable bed & pillows, many lovely snacks & drink option gifts. Super clean & tidy.

Noise in stairwells & corridors carried through to room. People talking very loudly almost shouting, children very noisy - loud talking & screaming can be heard in the room. Crows… sqwarking, leaving excrement on balcony, also my book got destroyed by something (maybe a crow) I left it out on the balcony overnight. Warning should be given not to leave anything on the balcony unattended. Some parts of the palace already looking tatty, boardwalk around pool uneven some bits of decking missing, beautiful elephant statues have bird excrement on them. Not keen on fake grass mats, cheapens the decadence. Spa prices a little high, especially when tax is added to price menu. Would be nice to be able to buy a drink or an ice cream on the beach.

I recently had the opportunity to stay at Kaldan Samudhra, and my experience was a mixed bag. Here are some things I liked and disliked: Likes: 1. Stunning Pool View: The pool view from our room was absolutely breathtaking. It was a perfect spot to relax and unwind. 2. Exceptional Food: The food at Kaldan Samudhra was truly extraordinary. The spread was huge, and there were plenty of options to suit every taste. 3. Concise Property: Although the property isn't huge, it's very well-designed and concise. Every amenity is easily accessible, making it a convenient stay.

Dislikes: 1. Room Delay: Unfortunately, our room was delayed by 2 hours, which was a bit frustrating. When we brought it to the staff's attention, all they offered was a half-hearted apology. 2. Lack of Compensation: Given the delay, I expected some form of compensation or gesture of goodwill. However, none was offered, which left a sour taste. Overall, Kaldan Samudhra has a lot to offer, but it falls short in terms of service. With a bit more attention to detail and a more empathetic approach to customer service, this property could truly excel.

Location- Beachfront. Superb . Resort is located just 3 kms from Mahabalipuram. So one can go out for food easily if vehicle is available. Check-in - Check-in was smooth & fast. Staff - Lovely staff . Always smiling. Good Service. Room - We stayed in Deluxe Room.Room was spacious for 3 people. Good lighting. Soft bed . Neat, clean & big bathroom with bathtub. Water pressure is great in bathroom.Balcony is good with pool view. Breakfast- Superb Breakfast with mouth watering South Indian dishes alongwith some continental items like Waffle , Pancake , Frenchtoast etc .Being local people , we enjoyed food . Hi-Tea- They served Hi-tea ie tea/coffee alongwith various snacks. Swimming pool - Very long pool . They are providing lifeguards, small boats , balls . So kids enjoy to the maximum. Check-out - Check-out was smooth & fast. Complimentary Photo is a good idea. It was good with great picture quality Highly recommended for Families & Couples.

Vehicle is a Must for travelers staying here. No auto or taxi stand nearby. Live music during breakfast & hi-tea was noisy. Not pleasing. Only two restaurants available which are exorbitantly expensive. So need to go out for food. Shower room in bathroom is bit cramped for very fat or tall people.

Exceptional. This place deserves a detailed review. Starting with the welcome wagon. Harpal at the gate greets you with a warm offer to take a pic. Rajasthani style welcome with soft drinks. Quick check in. Exceptional rooms. Amazing service . Buddhadev on the service side is to warm and friendly and goes above and beyond. Attention to detail in the rooms is noteworthy. U have everything u could need in the room and the complimentary mini bar deserves an additional star. The complimentary hi tea is great. But the breakfast was out of the world. Pool was amazing and a great respite from the heat. Lot of picture opportunities especially when the lights come on. We needed a topical for my 10 yr old son late at night and they got it from the store and handed it to us in the room at no extra cost. My only regret is not having stayed here longer. Also noteworthy not a single person would hang around waiting for a tip although all of them deserve all the tips we gave them. Well done kaldhan. Made our stay memorable and will surely come again when life brings us to chennai.

The cleanliness of the property and their hospitality was excellent. Good, spacious, clean room. Awesome swimming pool. Very courteous staff, always ready to help. Neat & clean bathroom, bathtub, shower.

Food could have been better for the price point. I have had excellent food for this price in other luxury hotels in chennai, comparably Kaldan Samudhra's food was not up to the mark. Even the deserts were not that good. Only very few items like soup, certain starters & chicken curry were good.
