The way the resort was setup was fantastic - mimics 2 streets of a village with an open paddy field with huge wells and pump-sets, lake nearby, vegetable garden, cattle farm, huge open lawn, swimming pool, artificial falls, swings and play area, traditional activities to engage children and adults, street-food stalls, etc. Every evening traditional artforms like paraiattam, karagattam, mayilattam, etc. were being played by professional artists. Staff were courteous and kind.

Food was highly priced and was loaded with masala, creating problems with the gut. TV had technical issues and coordinating to get it repaired was a task!

Got back old and peaceful days of childhood. Staff's we're excellent, especially Madhavan and Naveen. All were smiling and welcoming. Resort had a good mix of old and modern facilities. Rooms were trendy inside, and the exterior was still village type. Activities, pump set bath, and swimming pool all were well thought and maintained.

Nothing... Internet coverage could be improved, but personally, I don't see it as a negative as life without the internet is what I looked for. Might be helpful for others who prefer the internet if the coverage is improved.

Excellently maintained property with beautiful architecture and interiors. It offers a good amount of engaging activities and plenty of open space to unwind in nature. The staff is incredibly helpful, and the food is amazing—especially the guava and cucumber chutneys by Chef Kumar. I had a wonderful stay with hardly any complaints. It's definitely worth a visit if you're looking for a peaceful getaway!

I felt that the farm hut stay was a bit on the expensive side for the limited amenities that it offered. The room was also basic, nothing special except for the view that it offered. Could have been priced a little reasonable.

The entire resort was an unique experience..From.the rooms,ambience and unusual activities both for kids and adults. The food needs a special mention.Such personal care and impeccable service.My 92 year old father loved the food and was pampered with his choices..They made his birthday unforgettable. The evening street food was a fab experience. Ilaiyaperumal,Naveen and Veeran need a special mention and kudos for their ever smiling service. Highly recommended for a varied holiday.

Delicious, varieties to choose,gut friendly breakfast. Staffs are very courteous and friendly. Willing to help whenever. Chef.Kumar’s personalised attention appreciated. Naveen was very thoughtful in service. Most enjoyable event is traditional “Parai” drums and dance. Amazing performance by folks.Lot of energy which pleasantly contagious. Food cart ,pump set, field walk, cattle barn …I can add on my memorable indulgence.

I wont say I didn’t like but we would have been 100% enjoyed .Water pressure can be increased in toilet.

A beautiful property with calm and peaceful surroundings. Our stay in the middle of paddy field is pure joy and amazement . The farm and activities areas are cherry on the top kind of add ons. Staffs are really sweet and exceptional with their hospitality. They enquire about each and small needs of yours and fix the needs on time.

I wish they add few more lights near to the farm hut stay. And more lights on the path way to the stay.

A very good selection of Indian food, excellent chef. Most attentive and kind staff. Very warm and welcoming resort, with happy families catered for as well as business groups and couples. At weekends there were performances by professional dancers and drummers. There was a well run craft area. Lots of other activities if you wanted them. Oh, don’t forget the beautifully clean and quiet farm area beyond the accommodation area which was so quiet I forgot to check it out until our last day. As a retired English couple we would highly recommend the experience.

Visited India. After a lot of research found Marutham for a family get together. An excellent traditional place to stay. Kids experienced the things which I experienced during my childhood. Rozerio Marutham operational manager made our stay a pleasant experience. Naveen in the restaurant looked after our food requirements with personal touch by the chief chef Kumar.everyone in the family enjoyed the stay Thankyou for the entire Marutham team for the hospitality

Extremely courteous staff. Meeting all our requests promptly with a smiling face. Sufficient activities to keep us occupied throughout our stay.

Trying to contact the resort over phone/email to get queries sorted out prior to our visit was virtually impossible as there was no response from the two mobile numbers provided in the booking confirmation (7358033045/46). Similarly there was no acknowledgement or response to the emails sent by us.

Marutham Village Resort in Mamallapuram is an absolute gem! This traditional Tamil village-themed resort offers an unforgettable experience that seamlessly blends rural charm with modern comforts. From the enchanting bullock cart rides to the captivating cultural programs like Karakaattam, every moment here is a journey into the heart of Tamil culture. The cow farm, pumpset shower, and warm hospitality of the staff all contribute to the authenticity and warmth of the stay. My 1.5-day visit was far too short to fully savor everything this resort has to offer, and I'm already planning my return for a longer stay. It's a definite 5-star destination, and I can't wait to immerse myself in this cultural haven once again!
