A nice place near to the beach, very clean and the staff is helpful. The hotel don't have a restaurant but they can bring food to you from nearby places. Mamallapuram is not a big place so you can walk around yourself, and since the main road doesn't go through the town it feels fairly safe

They do have mosquitos...

Lack of storage place for clothes, a few shelves would have been nice. (We were a family of 4,) The beach was lovely, really good water, sand, etc l, but I wish the government would look after it better (this has NOTHING to do with the guesthouse, because it's not a private beach). If you walk few hundred meters forward, it's cleaner.

The staff were wonderful. Both rooms (ground floor and 1st floor were great) but the 1st floor room had more light and the toilet/shower situation was better placed; Room F2. Great shower with plenty of hot water. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was simple but nice. We preferred the Indian breakfast over the Western breakfast. It was great that they had a hose and shower out front to rinse off sand from the beach. Close to the beach and a number of restaurants. We walked to the temples all four days and enjoyed exploring the back streets.

The only minor negative was the hotel is at the end of what felt like a back alley to the next street over and it was a bit of an obstacle course avoiding the trash etc.

The location of this hotel is awesome twice over. First, because of the proximity to the Shore Temple, which you can see from the hotel's terrace. Second, for its proximity to the beach, which literally is a two minute walk away. Good places for grub like Joe's Cafe (on the road) and My Goodness Cafe (on the beach) are also within walking distance. The room was clean and spacious, the complimentary breakfast provided was ample and very tasty, hot water was always available. When you come back from the beach, you can wash your feet outside so you don't get sand into your room. There is plenty of parking space. We stayed just one night here, but the hospitality of Mr Kumar and his staff was top notch. I forgot to pay for the tea we had ordered the previous day, but Mr Kumar just completely waived it off with a laugh when I called him about it. This is the kind of hospitality and attitude that brings customer delight. Thank you Mr Kumar. Our stay was short but delightful. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable stay in Mamallapuram and relaxation without luxury.

The hotel was well located near the beach and within walking distance of the main temple complex and numerous restaurants. Big comfortable bed. Roof top breakfast area was basic but quaint with hanging plants and views of the sea. Staff really friendly and helpful and Kumar the owner sorted out our transport to Chennai (which isn't as easy as you might think). There are also scooters for hire. Choice of Indian or western breakfast.

Whilst the hotel is very good value, the rooms are basic. When we arrived there was only one room left, at the back on the ground floor which had some damp. However Kumar moved us upstairs the next day. The mosquito screens also need some attention.

We are a couple from Germany/US and had a very nice stay in Mahabalipuram at Sri Murugan Beach Paradise. The rooms were clean and had everything you need. The beds were comfy. On the top floor there is an open terrace to hangout. It is partly covered with a roof to have some shade. We had our breakfasts there, read our books and just listened to the sea and the wind. It’s also great for watching the sunset. What stood out the most though is the service. All of the staff were the very welcoming and helpful. There is a laundry service (your clothes will get washed by hand!) and a bike rental service. You can also have nice food at any time or help yourself with a very tasty cup of masala chai. The owner Kumar helped us out a lot with tips what to see in the city, little goodies, wishes and just in general has a very pleasant and lovely away of interacting with the guests. We can recommend this place for sure!

It was basic but had everything we needed. Kumar was a great host and couldn’t do enough for us. You get what you pay for and we had a bed and bathroom and breakfast in the morning - The Indian breakfast from Kumar’s wife was delicious The rest of the staff are very friendly too

Breakfast in plastic trays every morning, the toast for the English breakfast is a little rubbery and butter sparse! The surroundings, lots of litter which is burnt in the mornings - not their fault but something to bear in mind

Very organised and efficient. My suitcase found itself in my room before I even blinked an eye! Location is perfect - next to the beach and main drag of the village but far enough from the main road to be quiet in the evening. They have someone on duty at all times and are very obliging.

The lighting is a little off putting in the room. (This is a common issue I’ve found in a lot of places). And the view is of the rather nice pool at the hotel next door, hehe. But this hotel is such good value for money, one really can’t complain. Ignore any descriptions on booking.com saying you get free massage and airport transfer - this is outdated information.

Staff was very helpful and seamless check-in and check-out. It's very close to the beach. Rooms were very clean.

The Rooms were clean and decently lit up. The AC and fan for circulation worked nicely considering the warm weather outside. Mr. Kumar was very helpful and was prompt in helping whenever and whatever you need. With my booking of complementary breakfast the quantity was good enough. Close to the beach and close to shore temple gives you access to all places with ease. If you are good with walking you will be able to cover all places by walking too. The property is at the end of a road so parking even though outside is like within the property area. The Facilities in this property are basic needs and hence rated according to that don't expect awesome facilities like a swimming pool, gym, etc like 5* facilities here. Overall a highly recommended budget stay.
