Great location right on the beach, away from the busier areas of the island which we enjoyed. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. They have their own boat to take you out for private snorkeling tours which was again great value for money and right on your doorstep.

Our room was a little too close to where the live music was being played. The live musician was awesome, but I’m often early to bed so was unable to sleep until it finished around 10:30pm both nights. Not necessarily a bad thing just something to be aware of!

The whole team of staff worked seamlessly together. Always friendly, respectful, calm, helpful, always went the extra mile. Made our stay so enjoyable. The evening music sessions on four of our eight nights was magical and dancing was fun, even in the pouring rain! Food was interesting, delicious, varied. Place, beach and sea was very clean. No plastic in the sea. Some sea lice/jelly fish so used the lovely pool.

The back exit path, around the staff quarters, could be cleared up of the hotel rubbish and be recyled. Clear signposting in town to Pelangi Cottages from the main road. The bathrooms could use a sign on the wall to not put paper in the toilet -“The sewage system in Gili Air is sensitve. Please put all paper in the rubbish bins provided. The paper will be collected and burned every day.” If guests bring children they should be allowed to use the pool.

Great room, nice bathroom, great location at the beach, awesome live music on some evnings. overall a great hotel. worth the money. great pool and beach area.

very very poor breakfast. small portion sizes and not nutrional at all. you can choose between 3 options which are basically all eggs with bread. very poorf coffee and super sweet and artifical tasting orange juice. we saw on hte lunch menu, they offer great healthy bowls and fresh mpresesd amazing fruit juices and smoothies (you have to pay extra for them), so they can do great food... so why not offer your guests a better, more nutrional breakfast? only on the 4th day they offered to clean our room.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Pelangi Cottages. It had a great breakfast, we especially enjoyed the avocado toast! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is great for a laid back relaxing beach holiday. This time in the evening often a bit of rain, so we did not see the usual spectacular sunsets except for just one night. They have a good menu with Turkish influences and of course fresh fish. Many other good places nearby only adds to the attraction. With turtle point nearby you can see turtles grazing and the corals at outer reef are nice. Bit of a swim to get there. Some evenings they had very good live music to top off the experience :)

We had a truly wonderful experience at this hotel — from the warm welcome at the beginning to the very end of our stay. Putu and the entire staff were incredibly kind, fun, and helped us with absolutely everything. On our last day, we had an issue with the horse cart that was supposed to take us to the harbor — we were super late and would have missed our boat if it wasn’t for their help. They went above and beyond for us! The property itself is lovely, and in just a few steps from the room, you reach a quiet and beautiful beach. The restaurant is also very good, especially the grilled fish they serve in the afternoon — absolutely delicious.

The only downside, in our opinion, was the bathroom. That’s the only reason we didn’t give 5 stars. While the architecture is charming, with stone and wood details, there’s a persistent strong smell in the bathroom. We reported it, and the staff kindly tried using an ozone machine, but unfortunately, it didn’t help much. We believe the bathroom needs a proper renovation. Another minor issue is that the hot water runs out very quickly. Despite these inconveniences, we still highly recommend this hotel and would love to come back one day!

The staff was excellent, cottages were as pictured and quite clean for being right next to the beach, breakfast was fantastic! The food options and drinks offered at the restaurant throughout the day were delicious. The area is kid friendly with a very clean beach, kind staff, welcoming owners, and beautiful surroundings. We love seeing the improvements that the owners and staff are continuously working towards- can't wait to see what it looks like in a few years! It was well worth the arranged Lombok airport pick up that brought us directly to the boat that goes to Pelangi. Tip, don't wear long jeans for that transport because you'll need to go a bit into the water. We had messaged a few days prior to our arrival to arrange the transport. The optional adventures, such as the fishing trip we took, are so nice to have on site. We caught a few small fish but loved the experience and attempt. There are ATMs on the island, but come with cash because it is a walk, we found a few to not like our cards, or there could be issues (out of money, no power, etc). Just to make arrival more comfortable, get cash at the airport or before getting to the island. Some places take card, but there is a small fee. Restaurants surrounding Pelangi are delicious. There are souvenir stands around and locals walking around selling items as well. The island can be walked across in 20-30 minutes, but there are bikes, electric scooters, and small horse/carts to help with various transport needs. You won't be disappointed with this accommodation- we highly recommend it!

We should have stayed more than a week! Beds were not our preference of comfort, but that's totally just our personal preference.

The location on the north side of the island is perfect! You can see both sunrise and sunset from this picturesque beach. The sunsets on the beach were spectacular, and it’s a short walk to snorkeling spots and restaurants. The staff are friendly and the onsite bar was convenient.

We had a beachfront room. It was somewhat as pictured…just add a few decades of wear and tear with no upkeep! It was pretty noisy on a nightly basis between the live cover band and the neighboring bar- can be fun if you are out or annoying if you’re staying in. They were adjusting pricing while we were there, so prices for drinks literally changed over night, and we were charged the ‘new’ prices for the minibar instead of what was listed in the room.

Friendly and helpful staff. Right on the beach - and a clean, lovely beach too. The swings are a nice touch, and a plus as fish swim around the cement blocks in the water. Lovely cottages, gorgeous, unique, clean and comfortable. Excellent restaurant location, with good live music on a regular basis. The menu offers Turkish food, which is nice, and there are several other restaurant options nearby. Bicycle rental not far, and a great way to explore the island. The hotel has a private boat service for day excursions - we went fishing and snorkeling and it was really nice!

We had a fantastic stay at Pelangi Hotel – without a doubt the best location on the island! The hotel is set right on a beautiful, peaceful beach, and there's live music in the evenings that adds to the atmosphere without being overwhelming. They are upfront about occasional noise from a nearby bar once a week – we only noticed it faintly in the room and it didn't bother us at all. We stayed for 5 days – first 2 nights in a deluxe sea view room, and then 3 nights in a supreme room. Both were great and excellent value for money. The deluxe room was slightly smaller but charming, with an outdoor bathroom, minibar, coffee station, toiletries, a furnished terrace – and of course, a mosquito net. The supreme room was more spacious with a larger bed, indoor bathroom, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The staff were outstanding – super friendly, helpful, and genuinely service-minded. A special thanks to Iman, who went above and beyond to help us with everything from GoPro rental to snorkelling and diving recommendations – even calling around to get us the best prices and booking for us. The pool was clean and lovely, and beach/pool towels were available free of charge. Breakfast included a choice of three tasty options, along with fresh fruit, juice, and coffee/tea, so we always started the day satisfied. Two days we were heading out early to go diving, and they kindly offered to prepare breakfast for us before the regular breakfast hours – which was such a nice touch. We felt so well taken care of from start to finish – and we’ll definitely be back! – Markus & Cecilie

First and foremost the staff. The team makes you feel at home and so very welcome. It really makes a big difference. The sunset view is awesome, it’s very chill and right on the beach. Some evenings a band is playing and it’s really fun to sing along and dance. It’s not a loud place, though. Perfect if you just want to relax.

It’s not that I didn’t like the property but it’s a little bit tired and could use a little update. So don’t expect a luxury experience, which I think is also not justified as it is a 3 star place. It’s got everything you need and is clean, but since it’s directly on the beach there will be little ants in the bathroom - no big deal but just something you need to be aware of especially if you are a bit fussy. The food in the restaurant is ok, but not amazing. You go there for the vibes. :)
