Villa 1, the place ee stayed for 8 n8gjts, looked beautiful. We also appreciated the small outdoor pool and the seating area. After we indicated that we'd like to see some minor improvements, they were promptly addressed. The villa isn't located on the beach, but a bit further inland. Cleaning is done twice a day, and the pool is also well-maintained. We were truly spoiled during our eight-day stay. The villa isn't cheap, but with the service, friendliness, and beauty, it's 100% worth it. Especcial Tipsea Turtle operates on a two-pronged concept. There's the hostel, where young people have the opportunity to participate in all sorts of activities. These are often organized by excellent volunteers. As a grandfather, I would be thrilled if my grandchildren stayed at this hostel. They also have several very expensive villas that are definitely worth the price, attracting a completely different clientele. The volunteers, in particular, were excellent communicators and created an extremely pleasant atmosphere without being overbearing. And just try making teenagers up to 60+ feel valued!

Hostel is very nicelly arranged, great facilities and such friendly staff. They organize a lot of activities trying to get together people staying there. Then even offer one night of free "community" dinner, you just have to buy a drink. Breakfast is very good with fruits, pancakes (nuttella and peanut butter) and eggs. Mattress, pillow and bed sheets really good and toilets and showers always very clean.

It's an expensive hostel but Gili Air seems to be quite an exclusive -still massive- place. So, compared to other accommodation options, price is still affordable. It's a quite massive in terms of ammount of people, families, kids, always going in and out and can be a little overwhelming sometimes. People may not be really carefull when entering the rooms at late night after parties disturbing the sleep.

We were travelling with kids (7 and 9 years old) and the bungalow was perfect for our needs. Nice beds and fan+aircon in both storeys. The pool and social are was nice and the staff was very helpfull and friendly. Also to location is perfect for snorkling as there are many turtles and nice reefs at the beach just outside the hostel.

Tipsea Turtle is a great place to stay if you want to meet other travellers. They go out of their way to help people to mingle, including daily activities and a general sociable vibe. They also allow you to order food delivery to the hostel, so you can stay in the hostel bar chatting with new friends instead of worrying about going out and finding somewhere to eat on your own. They also provide free drinking water, which was great. The room was really nice, and for a hostel it was relatively quiet at night as they close up the bar around 10:30pm and encourage people to head out to other bars on the island. Gili Air is a beautiful island with great snorkelling, and you can walk a loop of the entire island in an hour or so. Lots of places to eat and drink, and beaches to chill on.

It was the most expensive place I stayed in Indonesia, and more expensive than similar options on Gili Air but as a solo traveller I was willing to pay the extra to be in a sociable place. Whilst I enjoyed the waffles for breakfast, it would have been good to have an alternative rather than having the same thing every day - either a second option, or to have the waffles every other day with something different on the the other days. Even if it's just something simple like granola and fruit.

Tipsea Turtle Gili Air is simply the best. Every single need I had was fulfilled. The staff was amazing, friendly, always smiling and trying to help. Facilities matched with the pictures, nice hot showers with good water pressure. Rooms and beds were clean and comfortable. AC was working perfectly. Nice pancakes for breakfast with fresh fruits and coffee or tea. Loved the pool! Location is on the other side of the island if you walk from the harbor but still perfect. Beach starts literally from the front of the hostel. Came here twice and stayed like 3 weeks because enjoyed myself soo much.

This was one of the best experiences I’ve had in a long time! The hostel goes out of its way to include new guests in activities like yoga, volleyball, trivia, and bar hopping, making it a great place to socialize. I got to try free diving in the pool, and the kindness of the instructor completely won me over—definitely something to consider when visiting. The bathrooms were spotless, the dorm was ice-cold with AC, and the blankets were clean and cozy. Plus, it’s just steps from the beach and a five-minute walk to an incredible snorkeling spot. I can’t say enough good things about this place—I hope to return for a longer stay soon!

Had a really nice stay at Tipsea Turtle: If you're looking for a nicely designed place with super friendly and welcoming staff directly at the beach, filled with activities, a nice breakfast, a pool and a Whatsapp group which makes it easy to socialise this place is for you! I went to Gili Air for 3 nights and it was also easy to extend spontaneously. Right in front of the Hostel directly at the beach you can find a nice Cafe called 'The Rising Sun Cafe' which I can really recommend! I went there every single day because same as inside the Hostel the staff was really caring and friendly, the food and drinks were delicious and the view to the sea was awesome. During the day, you could join the other guests at the Hostel bar to do some activities together as snorkeling, diving, yoga, playing social games or even do a beach clean up! In the evening it was also possible to meet at the bar and order some food together from other restaurants. You can also find a Tipsea Turtle Hostel at Gili T so if you are thinking about staying there you can already book your room in the Hostel on Gili Air an get 20% discount. The rooms and the accomodations as well as the shared showers and toilets were pretty clean. All in all I had a pleasant stay, I even ended up buying a piece of their nice merch :b Would always come back, thank you Tipsea Turtle!

- Small intimate rooms with good space to store your things (3 people per room) - great AC - breakfast included (1 option only) - lots of daily activities initiated by the hostel and great staff - social vibe without being too party - great location by the beach - pool is clean and great - rooms are clean; beds comfortable - refillable water!!!

- ground level washrooms get dirty fast since anyone using the pool uses them while wet - but they clean a few times a day so better than I expected really. - ground level bedrooms are close to the bar and pool, so can be quite noisy at night. Can be hard to sleep depending on the crowd in the evenings - some rooms have better setups than others - seems like they’re renovating so they may all be better soon :) - hostel snorkeling activity is over priced - you’ll find better at other places on the island

The bed was very soft and comfortable, the room was nice and cool. Decent bathroom. Excellent location, dive centre right at the property was a bonus. Good cafes and restaurants within 3 minute walk. It is a very young crowd as most of the rooms are hostel dorms.

The room had nowhere to put bags, or a cupboard or wardrobe. You had to live out of your bag. This is fine if you are staying for 1 or 2 nights, any longer and it gets very annoying. No fridge either.

BEST HOSTEL I’VE EVER BEEN IN (and i’ve been in maaaany) Amazing vibes, the beach is out front so you can just walk out to the sea with your swimsuit and snorkel, no shoes needed. The staff is wonderful, there are several activities every day for all tastes, so you can do as much or as little as you want. Everyone is in such an incredible good mood in this place, super relaxed chill vibes, happy, everyone talks to everyone… top top top top The reps and the staff are incredible. Very kind and helpful. Mala is one of the best yoga teachers i’ve ever had in over a decade of different teachers.
