Amazing hardworking staff. Awesome location with a sunrise spot and snorkelling spot right infront of the property. Good food. Rooms were comfortable.

There's sand and pebbles on the bathroom floor. Although it feels nice aesthetically. It's not practical . As it takes time for water to drain and the bathroom is never completely dry. Maybe that's why there were many many mosquitos in the bathroom.

Nice chill place close to the sea with friendly staff. They can arrange boat tours for snorkelling and rent of bicycles. We liked the breakfast and also our dinner. The BBQ fish is really great! Nice area for chilling by the sea and enjoy some drinks. Overall it was nice 3 days stay at Gillis. If you are looking for relaxation is the perfect gateway! Totally recommend.

Door closes only if you lock with the key. No one cleaned inside and we didn’t have toilet paper. Small things that they can change easily.

Loved the big bed and mosquito net. Big fluffy towels. Star Bar sunbeds right by the beach, you could watch the sunrise and even have your breakfast right there. Hammocks. Fridge. Turtles.

Lighting in my room was really poor. Unfortunately the properties next door were quite noisy so definately bring earplugs. There was a bit of issue with "high speed internet" which required me moving to bungalow 5 as it has the strongest signal.

Staff are wonderful Just an ideal location to snorkel and chill on the beach. Food is cheap. Accommodation is rustic but quite adequate. Atmosphere is just fantastic. We loved our little corner of paradise, and will certainly come back sometime soon. Accommodation is rustic and authenthic Indonesian. We loved that. The team looked after us really well. We felt like part of the family.

Would have liked clean bed linen and a fresh towel even a toilet clean or ability to do this cleaning ourselves during our stay. We stayed 7 days, there was no service.

Excellent staff especially those who speak good English. There were several who didn't, do we struggled to be understood with them. Such a fantastic position for snorkeling with turtles. Good food. The best Nasi Goreng Pool ok.

We asked for more pillows and got them without problems, as there were only 2 very flat pillows. Had to ask for a cup as we only had 1 cup for 2 people, and no glasses. Hard bed.

This place is just paradise, just next to the point where you can see the turtles. We spent all our mornings snorkeling there, and it was amazing. The bungalow is very nice, the hammock is a plus and the shower is beautiful. You have access to beach beds and a swimming pool which are very nice. The food is good, & the cocktails too. the staff is very friendly. We highly recommend this place !

The only thing that sort of put a damper on our amazing experience here was being over charged when paying with card. I don’t know if it was human error or intentional, but whenever they’d calculate the 3% surcharge for paying with card, I noticed it was closer to 30%. To combat this, I suggest either paying with cash, or learning how to calculate percentages.

It was a nice stay. The breakfast is simple but good. The staff if super friendly. You can drop your laundry off to the office.

We booked a private boat snorkeling trip and it was bad with them and it was really bad. One of the skipper was not really friendly. They just bring us to the same spot as groups boats. They also didn’t tell us about the jelly fish and they have saw it ! Won’t recommend to book that activity with them.

Fantastic stay at the star bar bungalows. A super quiet and serene location on the east side of the island which is the PERFECT place to watch the sunrise and swim with turtles. The bungalow was a 10 second walk to the beach, an amazing size with a seriously comfy and large bed and seating area on the porch. Provided in the room was large bath towels, mosquito net and a small amount of shower soap. The included breakfast each morning was simple but incredibly tasty and it was so nice to eat it on the small beach area whilst watching the sun rise. Pool was good but the beach area was better! Most of all, the staff here are the KINDEST group of people we have met in Indonesia so far. They are all kind, attentive, funny, talkative and welcoming every time we interacted with them. They helped us to rent snorkel gear and bicycles from their friend next door and checked on us to make sure we were comfortable and happy!

- the aircon was very poor - The bungalow experience would be absolutely perfect if they added hangers in the wardrobe and a small table and chairs inside with a kettle and coffee making facilities. A fridge would also be a great addition but this is just my usual preference. - I also would have preferred to see more vegetarian options on their menu.

The staff was really friendly and helpful. Also the location was really great, directly at the beach and snorkelling area. The room was also very spacious and clean. Big plus for us was the mosquito net.

The WiFi did not work really well. We went to the resto and there they have a different WiFi that worked a bit better and did our work there.

The location was very good- right on the beach with lounge chairs and beach gazebos. A long walk to the ferry terminal; many woud use the horse and carriage (cimodo) to get to the accommodation from the ferry. The staff were very friendly and were willing to make us coffees early in the morning, even though breakfast was not available until 8am. Breakfast basic but adequate. Cold water showers, comfortable bed.P

We didn't use the pool for a couple of reasons- the beach was so close; the pool was out in the open and had no seating area or furniture.
