Hidden away at the bottom of the family compound, once you were in your room the hustle and bustle of Ubud centre disappeared despite how close it was There are steep steps down to the accommodation and then up again if on the top floor. The lovely hosts will carry luggage up and back but no handrails if you need them. Breakfast is brought to your balcony each morning, eggs or pancakes and a plate of fruit. A hot thermos, tea, coffee and sugar are refreshed each morning. If you take milk you will need to buy it but there is a fridge to keep it in. It is a homestay, bugs will get in (they light a mosquito coil outside your door each evening), the shower has a trick to get hot water but it is a little bit of peace within walking distance to pretty much everything.

You can't get dropped off by car here. You will need to walk up Jl Kajeng and the sign is faded so you may walk past (as I did) because you are distracted by the markets. Trust Google maps!

We loved the location of the room. It also offers a nice terrace with lush garden. Delicious breakfast - bananna pancakes, eggs on toast and fresh fruit. WiFi is working good and the room has also a fridge. We also liked the hospitality of the owners. Cleaning of the room every day.

There is a way for some insects and geckos to enter a room (as in many other rooms in Ubud), but owner offered some repellent for it and lights up a mosquito repellent every evening. Our room was very clean, yet because the river is close, there tends to be some moist.

Perfect surroundings out of the way of the busy road and the art market! But close enough to reach within minutes. The owner is a really lovely man who is hands on in his job, he replaces a hot water flask every morning which keeps the water hot until through the night. Free tea and coffee. He comes and brings the best pancakes for breakfast with a lovely fruit salad. I told him I didn't like papaya so he made sure not to bring any so it didnt get wasted! He also asked if we would like the room cleaned after only the first night. The rooms are really clean and bright. I love coming out on a morning to the garden area and chilling, it's so peaceful. We ended up moving hotels to go somewhere with a kitchen but have cut our stay there short by 5 nights and are returning to the Artja Inn because we like it so much there. The WiFi wasn't working well the first night but this was resolved the next day and worked perfectly after that!!

Nothing really

Beauty of a spot, big room right in the heart of Ubud art market, everything is so easily accessible with a Mart across the street with everything you need open 24/7. Magnificent host, so welcoming and friendly. Can lock the wardrobe and has a nice desk with a mirror. Saw beautiful birds and heard geckos. Lovely view from the terrace where a yummy breakfast is served. All necessities are catered for.

Don't be silly and leave anything that attracts ants cause they will come in big numbers. Don't leave clothes on the fence rail because the humidity will get them in the morning.

This homestay is absolutely amazing and so so special! Situated in the heart of Ubud and yet quiet, this is a place where you can find peace and a place to retreat despite the hustle and bustle around. But the best thing is not the location, but the family that welcomes you here in such a warm, open and kind way. The whole family is so special - they took me in and looked after me so well and were so warm-hearted. I really enjoyed talking to and spending time with them and am incredibly grateful that I was able to gain an insight into Balinese culture. Ketut is an amazing host and the service was always impeccable: There is always hot water for tea or coffee, a delicious breakfast (pancakes or omelettes with fruits), the rooms were always kept clean and are also extremely spacious! I spent 2 weeks here and then came back for a few more days because the atmosphere and kindness of the people here is just so unique. I can warmly recommend this accommodation with a clear conscience! I would definitely come back any time!

Nicely located in the centre yet peaceful. Proper table and cupboard to organise stuff. View of the garden outside and sound of the nearby river. The breakfast was available every morning at the discussed time. Everyone was helpful and greeted with big smiles.

No proper mirror in the room. Only a small one in the bathroom. Bathroom could have been slightly cleaner.

A little oasis and central to Ubud & Great sites & eating spots. My favourite, is that it’s right on the start of the rice paddies walk- I really love this walk and would do most mornings or evenings that I stayed in Ubud (10days). I stayed in a few different hotels and definitely this is the best location, rooms are spacious and overlook garden, shower is great with hot water away from bustle. And fridge quiet - I unplugged it in other hotel as so noisy. I also like that it feels like home away from home as exposed to the friendly family compound.

Pillows too high & make my neck very sore - but I’ve found this in every hotel I’ve stayed in Bali

Wow. What a wonderful secret little guest house hidden in a quiet green oasis in the heart of Ubud. We loved it so much that we extended with an extra week. The family running the place are very competent, kind and serviceminded. Just hours after we pointed out that the WiFi was a bit slow they put up a new router in the tree just outside our room. The entrace to the guest house is a wonderful little adventure - you first pass through a little temple before you enter the cozy little yard of the local family running the place - birds, cats, geese, chickens - before you arrive at the hidden green oasis. Did I mention that the breakfast is good and healthy - and that the rooms a clean and that you will have a wonderful little veranda all by yourself? Highly recommended.

Nothing - everything was great!

The accommodation is situated next the family/owner's residence and is accessible to bars and restaurants and market and some of the most famous attraction in Ubud. Although located near these establishment, the place is relatively peaceful throughout the day and night. The room is spacious, clean and bed is comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and unique, served to us warm and fresh. Our host and his family are the most kind, accommodating, friendliest people we have met not only in Bali but in our whole trip around Southeast Asia. We have encountered a frightening experience whilst staying at Artja Inn and fortunately, the host and his son have help us and made us feel safe and part of the family.
