What a lovely stay! From the moment we walked up to the property until the last check out day, the staff was so welcoming. They were always helpful and friendly. The restaurant was great to have and the breakfast was always tasty. We spent some time at the pool which always had fresh towels and you can bring a beer over from the restaurant to enjoy. The room was cozy and the bed was very comfortable. I slept very well during our stay. I appreciate how close it is to the outskirts of the main city yet far enough where it feels peaceful. It’s only a 10 minute walk into town for food or about 30 minutes to walk into the main area. It was a great way to get our steps in. Finally, the hotel has an option to get picked up or dropped off from the airport and the driver (Dewa) is exceptional. He’s timely and gets you where you need to be. He’s even offered to take us to other locations including Uluwatu for a very reasonable price. I would absolutely stay here again.

The bathroom shower head points straight out which would spray water everywhere. It needs a handle to point it down at the ground and not at the wall. We did get bit by mosquitos in the night and the mosquito net doesn’t allow free flow of air, so we had too decide between being hot or not getting bit. But you have to remember, you’re staying in the jungle so there’s bound to be bugs.

The property is located in a quiet and peaceful area, away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud itself. Still within walking distance however, making it a peaceful and convenient place to stay. The facilities are amazing, pool, bar/restaurant, yoga hall, beautiful lush and well maintained gardens. The rooms are plenty big enough, stocked with added extras for comfort. We were greeted with huge smiles, genuine hospitality and topped off with a welcome drink as we checked in. We opened our bedroom door and found a very thoughtful and expertly delivered welcome message on our bed, wishing us a happy anniversary, truly exceptional service and close attention to details such as this made our experience unforgettable. Each and every member of staff smiled and greeted us every morning, noon and evening, making us feel welcome at all times of our stay. A special mention to Dewa, as he is quite simply an amazing gentleman who always took the time to speak with myself and my wife. You really are what makes Gayatri retreat a special place. We will definitely be back! Thank you for everything!

Everything was perfect

Was and excellent stay,such lovely genuine staff,nothing was a problem. Our room reminded us of a tree house,felt at one with nature. The gardens on the property were immaculate and we loved the pool,quite a decent size. Our breakfast was the best and a lot of choice. Also had evening meals at the restaurant which were delish. The location was peaceful and rural but only a 15 minute walk to the centre of ubud.

Would of been good to have a rubbish bin in our room. Didn't like leaving rubbish around for the staff to pick up

The location is convenient, a few minutes from center by Grab. There’s a market nextdoor and a laundry service nearby. The hotel restaurant offers great breakfasts (it would be nice if they started serving it at 7 instead of at 8), the pool is nice. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Make sure to communicate very clearly with the staff, because their English isn’t impeccable. I would stay again.

There’s a construction site practically on the property, so the mornings aren’t too peaceful. We stayed in September 2024 and it didn’t seem to be completed any time soon. At times it was a bit difficult to communicate with staff in English.

We had a wonderful stay at Gayatri Retreat in Ubud. The welcome from the manager and the whole team was truly outstanding — always warm and attentive. The food was of very good quality, and our room was spacious and comfortable, beautifully decorated in the Balinese style we love so much. We also really appreciated the calm and peaceful atmosphere of the swimming pool. A big thank you to the whole team for making our stay so enjoyable! Éric et Christine

We loved staying in the wooden Villa. Reconnecting with Nature and Greenery around. The Property was away from the centre but peaceful and at walkable distance to the centre, Palace and Temples. Restaurant was good too. They provided Spa facility as well as Laundry at cost. We loved the friendly staff who were always supportive and helpful (Dharma and Deva whom we got know at the property and all the housekeeping staff).

Really nice comfortable hotel comfy bed and a great shower, side bar and restaurant does nice food n drinks all day, breakfast is cooked fresh to order, pool is nice n quiet getting the morning sun, staff are really friendly and will give you advise on trips or anything you need, most days they manage to sneak in and clean ur room whilst you're having breakfast, fresh water supplied every day 😀

it is a short walk from the main centre but gojek and grab are so cheap if you don't fancy the walk

The design of the room and the gardens were simply beautiful. The yoga studio was gorgeous and the pool lovely. Delicious breakfast (vegan)-avo on toast with feta, fruit and a juice. My partners meat breakies were good too, apparently! The team were professional and friendly. Hired a bike from the hotel and visited a few places outside of Ubud.

The use of plastic straws and cling film to cover food felt unnecessary. They did re fill water but still use plastic bottles in the room etc. For such a lovely place this felt incongruant and could be a simple fix for a more plastic free bali! Keep going Gayatri we loved your place x

Lovely hotel close to Ubud centre but just outside enough to be quiet and peaceful. Staff were incredibly kind and attentive and couldn’t do more for us. Food was amazing at the in house restaurant and had lots to offer. Great hotel that allows you to be based near all the activities in the area. Brilliant stay
