The main drag in Ubud is ridiculously busy and this hotel was like an oasis in the chaos - up a car-free street on the edge of picturesque rice fields. The staff were absolutely amazing - nothing was too much trouble for them including same day laundry service and running us down to Ubud on their scooters to join tours at crazy times in the morning (for example 3am volcano hike). We had interconnecting rooms complete with balcony and really enjoyed having our breakfast brought up to us each morning. We found the choice to be good too. The rooms themselves were very comfortable and clean, with good bathrooms. The pool in the grounds was perfect for cooling off after a day of touring. You are near to plenty of great restaurants including the Sweet Orange Warung. We also got a takeaway delivered very easily one evening. If we came to Ubud again we would definitely try to stay here.

We loved everything. I guess it would be tricky to get to if you are not particularly mobile.

My Favorite Place to Stay in Ubud I’ve stayed at Solo Villas several times now, and it truly feels like my home away from home. Nestled right in the middle of the rice paddies, it’s peaceful, beautiful, and just the perfect escape from the busy town — yet still close enough to walk to all that Ubud has to offer. The staff are consistently warm, welcoming, and attentive, and everything is always spotless and thoughtfully maintained. Whether it’s the view, the quiet, the comfort of the villas, or the friendly atmosphere, everything here just feels right. I’ll keep coming back whenever I can. Solo Villas is a real gem, and I’m so grateful to have found it.

Beautiful villa, with gorgeous view! Wonderful staff who couldn’t do enough for us including free 24 hour shuttles to & from the villa into town, which is a great extra! Really nice clean pool! Very good breakfast & multiple choices! We loved our stay in Ubud & Solo Villa was the icing on the cake, the villa is stunning but the staff make this place amazing! 10/10

I recently stayed at Solo Villas in Ubud, and it was a wonderful experience! Nestled in the rice fields, the location offers breathtaking views and a peaceful atmosphere. The service was exceptional; the staff was very attentive and went out of their way to ensure comfort. The breakfast was delicious. Since the hotel is accessible only via a small path, they offer a convenient motorbike service to take you to a nearby meeting point in the city. Once you're done with your activities, just send them a message, and they’ll pick you up and bring you back to the hotel. Our room had a stunning view of the rice fields, and the bathroom was spacious and modern. The mattress was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep. The room was well-equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Ubud and needing a unique and quiet place to stay.

The place is perfect for all those people that want to get the best of Ubud without the crowd and traffic. The place is reachable by motorbike only (free rides by the owners). The breakfast is really enjoyable and they are not strict when it comes to time. I definitely recommend it.

The same thing that represents a nice thing (far from the houses and close to nature) could be a cons if you consider the time needed to reach it by walk. But as I said the owners are more than happy to drive you by motorbike anytime you need it and ask them for it.

I can't say enough about how wonderful this place was. The staff were so gracious, from meeting us on scooters to gather us and our luggage, to breakfasts in our rooms, doing our laundry, and sharing Cooper the dog with us. Our rooms looked out over the rice paddies, so beautiful sunrises, birds, and lightning bugs at night, if you're in the right season. You can walk paths in the rice paddies, eat at Sweet Orange Warung and watch the sunset. It's just so refreshing after the busyness of central Ubud. Exquisitely clean and comfortable.

I loved the scooter rides. Two of us, in our 70s had no problems at all if that's holding you back Lovely pool and it's shared with other rooms.

We originally booked a week at this villa, hoping to find a longer-term place in Ubud, but we ended up extending our stay to a full month because we loved it so much. Nestled in the midst of stunning rice fields, the location offers both tranquility and convenience, as it is close enough to the center of Ubud to easily walk in. The surrounding rice fields are some of the most beautiful I’ve seen, and the added magic of fireflies at night creates a truly unforgettable experience. Our room was spacious, tidy, and perfectly suited for a relaxing stay. The breakfast options were excellent, featuring a variety of à la carte choices that were both delicious and satisfying. However, the highlight of our stay was the exceptional staff. They were incredibly kind and attentive, which made all the difference during our month-long visit. Traveling with a toddler, we appreciated their warmth and support, especially when our little one fell ill. Their hospitality truly stood out, blending personal touches with professional service. While we didn’t get the chance to meet the owner, a Canadian who is highly praised by guests, we want to extend our compliments to her team. If you read this, Mrs. Owner: you have a fantastic group on the ground! We loved every moment of our stay and can’t wait to return. This villa is a hidden gem in Ubud, and we wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable getaway.

Everything was perfect.

This is a lovely Villa Spot nestled within the rice fields in Ubud. The room was very clean. The host mentioned to keep the door curtains drawn and windows closed because of insects and mosquitoes; however, I was pretty lucky is was not a huge issue for me thankfully since I really enjoy having the doors and windows open. The staff provides scooter service to the location since it's only accessible via scooter. This was very convenient for my stay. Useful amenities provided such as umbrella and toiletries. This place was relatively pricier however great value for the cost. would stay again.

Couldn't stay longer!

Very clean and neat villa. Staff are very friendly and responsive. The swimming pool is also very nice and my kid was enjoyed a lot. Overall worth of money.

The bike shuttle is available to travel to the villa, and the staff are immediately picked up and dropped to the requested places in ubud. But the car can't able to travel from the specific point afterwards. So only choice is bike which is not convenient if we have more luggage. If we come at midnight, only one person is available for pickup and drop also it's very long from the car parking place, which is almost 2km. Other than that, there are no complaints and overall worth for money.

The room was really big, comfy and clean. The breakfast was great and there are plenty of options to choose from. The staff were so kind and helpful. Transfers to and from the villas can be easily organised with staff. We got a transfer from Uluwatu to Solo Villas and from there to Seminyak. As the road to the retreat doesn’t have car access, drop offs to and pick ups from the centre are included. I really loved the location, it is tranquil and peaceful surrounded by rice fields but still close to the main streets. From the retreat you can go on nice morning walks around the rice fields, the Sari Organic walk is beautiful.
