We loved Taman Rahasia for the lush, secret garden vibe, massive bathrooms, enough hot water, well stocked rooms (water, sodas etc), patio/balconys perfect for chilling with a book, privacy and not the least: best massages I've ever had. It's close to several restaurants, super market with atm, rice patios. Walk to Ubud central around 30-40 minutes. Staff was great ❤️

Only minor but might be relevant for the particular: Patio fabrics (tablecloth, pillows) were not clean. We would have loved the option to order a good cup of nice coffee/tea at the hotel (there is a great coffee shop down the street but sometimes one is lazy)

The rooms at Taman Rahasia are large, and have large bathrooms and balconies or sit-outs. Quirky and tastefully decorated with statues, plants and flowers, we enjoyed our three nights there. It was the first place we stayed that had thoughtfully provided a multiple charging point, and lots of hanging points and storage in the bathroom. Also enough filtered water to last our entire stay. Small details like this make a big difference. The place is in a quiet lane, a away from the over-touristed heart of Ubud. Breakfast is delicious: we would recommend the Balinese coffee, the Balinese french toast and Mie Goreng. It also has a nice spa with affordable and good massages. The hosts are friendly, they pointed out short cuts for walking, and local restaurants like Vespa Cafe and Healthy Ubud that are a few minutes walk from Taman Rahasia. We'd stay here again!

in a quieter neighbourhood than some of Ubud's tourist hotspots, Taman Rahasia offers extremely restful environs with a large spacious room, a lovely verandah to lounge; a tastefully designed open (yet private) bathing area and warm service. the breakfasts are sumptuous and filling.. there are a few great eateries around

It's not really a dislike but a minor suggestion.. While the room is very cosy and inviting with warm lighting, a little brighter lighting option in the room may be nice - perhaps a large central lamp can be considered in addition to the multiple other lovely lamps already provided. just a thought.

Massages we're expensive so didn't use. Only one towel was given each, no hand towels or hair towels, but when we asked second time we got more. There was only 1 light working in our bathroom out of 5. Old broken air conditioning unit left next to our room. Nice people, were there if we needed them but left us to it. Breakfast was fine but had to pay extra for bacon and it really made it into a whole better breakfast. Overall a great stay and would stay again

Absolutely beautiful place. We felt like we had the whole place to ourselves! Big spacious rooms with a lovely balcony. Felt like your own little tropical hideaway. Lots of cafes and restaurants in walking distance. Outside of busy ubud but only a 30 min walk into the centre. This place really is like a hidden gem. We were given the number for a taxi driver too and he was so helpful throughout the trip, even when we had gone down to uluwatu he recommended another taxi driver to us! Lovely people, great hotel. Would absolutely recommend to others and hopefully one day we will be back. Exceptional value for money, the massages were great too! Thank you!

Beautiful garden and terrace, lovely pool. Good location, nice walk into the centre. Loved the semi-outdoor bathroom. Spacious room, good breakfast.

Our room had a double bed but the single bed for the third person was not comfortable at all, the room should rather be used by 2 people. Staff was kind, the host was more into selling services. Although we were there in July, it was raining for 3 days and everything was very damp in the room (walls, air, bed linen, towels, all of our clothes).

We had the king room with balcony -  beautifully decorated in the traditional Balinese style, comfy beds and excellent shower. Mornings started with delicious breakfast with fresh fruit and a variety of things to choose from. The place really is a sanctuary in the middle of a busy city - peaceful and quiet with beautiful tropical garden, yet bustling downtown Ubud is a short 15 minute walk away. The spa was great, according to my family. The staff at the property were super friendly and helpful. Michel provided a lot of useful tips and info on the various attractions on the island, such as the sunrise trek to the top of mount Batur, etc., and I enjoyed our chats with him with  interesting insights into the island culture. Plenty of little shops nearby, some excellent restaurants and scooter rentals just outside the property. The Vespa Pizza restaurant is not to be missed! All in all Taman Rahasia was a really excellent choice for our 5 day stay in Ubud, and we would gladly book again.

Fantastic location in the gorgeous alleyways of Penestanan Village. Within walking distance to the cool cafes and yoga studios. Clean and big rooms. Serene and quiet.

Michel is a very kind and attentive host. All the instructions were clear, and he gives you good advice on things you can do around the area. The hotel is a half-hour walk from Ubud center, which is nice because the area is far away from all the crazy traffic, and it's very quiet and relaxing at night. It's not an easy walk to the center because of the traffic, and the roads are quite steep, but you can book a Grab very easily and go everywhere. Breakfast is nice, and it's all homemade. The room is very big and comfortable; there is air-conditioning and a minifridge. The bathroom is huge. The attention to detail for the furniture is really impressive. There is also a nice patio outside each room, which is nice if you want to chill in the evening. As a solo traveler, I felt safe all the time, and I really enjoyed my stay, even if it was for a short time. Thank you very much.

I loved everything.

The staff were so friendly. My room, my balcony, my bathroom were spacious. The breakfast was tasty and plentiful. The pool was peaceful. I rated the location very highly because it was just outside the more active area, definitely walkable, but for some could seem to be away from the action, for me it was a perfect way to spend my time after being out. I spent 8 days at this hotel and loved every moment.
