The jungle villa had a private courtyard with an open air bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the AC worked well. I had no issues with mosquitoes. The restaurant food was outstanding and all staff were pleasant and accomodating. The main swimming pool is gorgeous but quite cold. Getting to the hotel is easy from their cafe and the main street is just a few minutes walk away. Overall I would recommend a stay here.

The on-site massage was TERRIBLE. The lady had absolutely no idea what she was doing and left me covered in bruises. She answered her phone during my session and also kept exposing my breasts. My cousin had a massage beside me and her masseuse was rubbing with one hand and texting with the other. A very odd experience and one I'll remember for all the wrong reasons 💩😆

This is a fantastic, small hotel in a really great central location in Ubud. The villa and private pool was gorgeous, modern and really clean and you really feel like you are in the jungle. The main pool and restaurant area is lovely, serving great food, and the staff are so friendly and helpful! The location is great, there are lots of things to do and see within walking distance such as the Campuhan ridge walk and central Ubud. Despite it’s central location it’s really peaceful and quiet so it really is the best of both worlds. We absolutely loved our stay here and could not recommend it enough!

Stay at Villa Alam Wayang Ubud was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment I've arrived, the staff welcomed me with warm smiles, refreshing drink, and impeccable hospitality. The villa was tucked away in a peaceful, lush jungle setting, yet only a 10-minute drive from central Ubud – the perfect balance of nature and convenience. The lush garden was a dream! Every morning I woke up to the sound of birds and enjoyed breakfast in the hotel's terrace admiring the surroundings. The room was beautifully designed – clean, spacious, and filled with natural light, yet giving you privacy when needed. The outdoor bathroom with a rain shower was a unique and luxurious touch. If you're looking for a romantic getaway or a peaceful retreat in Ubud, I can't recommend Alam Wayang enough. I left feeling refreshed, inspired, and already planning my next visit!

It wasn't an inconvenience for me personally but keep in mind there is no direct access to the hotel by car. If you are arriving by taxi, you will be drop off at the so called "Cafe Alam Wayang" where a buggy will pick you up and bring you to the hotel. It's a literally 2 minutes ride in the middle of a beautiful forest and the service is available 24/7 (if buggy with a driver is not there you can call the reception and someone from the hotel will come to pick you up within few minutes).

Alam Wayang was better than expected. The location is very handy and there are no cars on the street leading up to it so it's very tranquil. They provide transport from their cafe down the hill in a golf buggy. They have great food, a big pool and I had a small private pool in my villas. Every need is met. The bathrooms are gorgeous and the little gekkos in the outdoor area are cute and curious. I loved my stay here and will return. There was even an opportunity to have a massage or facial and to make silver jewellery in their workshop. Gorgeous place. Thank you to the lovely staff at Alam Wayang.

We had the vila with private pool which was amazing and really nicely decorated with some traditional designs. The staff was very friendly and happy to help with everything. You feel like you are within the jungle, there are plants everywhere, really cool! Very serene environment. I also had the Balinese massage which was excellent. You can order room service in your room throughout the day.

The hotel is about a 20' walk to the centre of Ubud so just bear this in mind when booking. You have to go through some small narrow streets for a shortcut (easy during the day) but can of course take also a taxi/grab. There is a buggy to take you to the hotel itself (not reached by car) but it is 24 hours.

Beautiful quiet villas. We had a 2 bedroom villa. They are quite small but private and quiet and well maintained. We had laundry done via reception which was competitive to outside vendors. The food was fantastic some really nice healthy options and a good menu with variety. I loved the smoothie bowls which are not on the breakfast menu but if they were they would be my go to option. Nice salads spring rolls. Good central but quiet location. It is a bit of a steep walk up and down stairs to the main street.

The only thing to improve was their drink offerings and bar service. There was no happy hour we were a group but if they had a bigger variety of drinks and cocktails and happy hour, we probably would have spent more time eating and drinking at this hotel instead of going out. Possibly adding the smoothie bowl to the breakfast menu it was delicious.

this boutique resort is quaint, cozy, tucked away from the crowds and very peaceful. they have everything that you could possibly need for a stay, food, spa, connectivity to the main road. had a very comfortable stay. the staff were very accommodating and nice.

the private room was a little small and the villas are quite close to each other. with open bathrooms, one can hear the next door bathroom. I would have preferred a net door and a ceiling fan as the weather was great and we had to use the air con when we could have enjoyed the lovely weather.

Beautiful lush setting with a lovely pool and stunning gardens with koi fish. Loved the tucked away position and all the little laneways to explore around Penestanan. Breakfast had a good variety of sweet & savoury & there are good warungs and cafes an easy walk away from both the resort and cafe pick up point. We had a 2 bedroom villa with pool. Staff were always around to help especially when you needed transport in the golf buggy.

The area is not flat and there are quite a few steps to get into town. However the quiet location away from the bustle makes up for it. You cannot access the hotel via car but they have a 24/7 golf buggy that takes you and picks up from the cafe. They are in different locations. You must let drivers and Grab know this.

We loved it here! Our 2 bedroom with private pool was perfect for my husband and I with our grown up children. Clean and well set out with everything you need. The restaurant and pool area were lovely too and always quiet although you are fairly close to the busy town of Ubud. The location of the hotel was not a problem for us. We either took the steps down to the main road and walked or got a Grab. Alternatively the golf buggy down to the checkout was always available. We never had to exit long to get picked up or dropped off. The staff were very friendly and accommodations. Nothing was too much for them. They always greeted you with a smile. My favourite part was our walk to and from the door of our villa to the main area. It feels like you are in the jungle! The plants and trees are just stunning and share your part as you wander along. All our family had a fantastic time, great value for money. Absolutely fantastic! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The 3BR villa we stayed in had everything we needed. We enjoyed using our plunge pool after being out and about exploring Ubud. The staff were very friendly and helpful, organising a driver and laundry services during our 4 night stay. The breakfast was very good and we also dined in a couple of times after long days out touring. Everything was clean, and the surrounding gardens were well maintained. The complex is only a 10 minute walk to Ubud centre (down several steps to the main road) with plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby and far enough away to be quiet and tranquil. There is also a golf cart style buggy used for transport along the lane to the drop off spot for taxis.

Nothing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The steps to the main road may be an issue for anyone with mobility issues, but a taxi/motorbike pickup is a good alternative if you don't want to walk.
