We loved the Shamrock ☘️. Would very happily stay again and recommend to others. Very close to town and ammenities. Bed was comfortable. Next time I would ask for a room not near generator which came on intermittently. Had to close window because of the noise so no fresh air. Lifts not stairs 👍on-site complimentary parking.

Minor thing was no fridge in room but hubby went down to reception to ask for some fresh milk (can’t do UHT) and our milk we brought had spoiled, and staff happily obliged with a small jug. Little things like this make all the difference. Staff to be commended, restaurant and bar was excellent.

Friendly staff, nice food reasonably priced, beds very comfortable. As there were three in our group, we were allocated a suite, which had a microwave and fridge. This was a nice bonus. Overall excellent value for money. This hotel is only 10 minutes walk from Athlone shopping area. Lots of shops to explore 😀

There were two bathrooms which both had a shower - but only one shower could be used at a time. Plumbing was quite noisy each time a tap was turned on but that is just minor because we were very happy overall.

There was a wedding party on when we arrived and the front desk wasn't manned, meaning we waited a little longer that anticipated. In a rush, the receptionist wrote the right room numbers down on the paper, but in the wrong order. This meant we spent 10 minutes going back and forth in the rain looking for our room. The lighting in the 'living room was a little dim There could have been more seeting in the area..

Breakfast was excellent, and the food in the bar (full restaurant is only open on weekends) was so good that we ended up eating there both nights rather than looking for somewhere to go off-site. They were great with the two well behaved kids we had with us and were very kind about the two birthdays we were celebrating. The rooms were comfortable and generously sized and they met our every request. I would definitely stay here again.

The extra bed was not quite as comfortable as the regular bed, but we technically didn't need to use it so it was no detriment to our stay. But if an adult needed to request the extra bed and use it, they may find it not the most comfortable.

The warm welcome from the minute we arrived from Paddy at the desk set the tone for the lovely experience we were to have at the Shamrock Lodge. The room was so spacious, we felt we had booked a big suite by accident! The food at breakfast was lovely and restocked with fresh food very frequently. We had a few odd requests (mainly around check-in) that the staff remedied with care and consideration. Even the taxi driver spoke so highly about this place, it seems to not only be a lovely hotel but holds a great place in the community. I would highly recommend it and hope to be back soon.

Situated a 10min walk from the town centre this hotel has a lot to offer. The room we got was spacious and clean, as was the bathroom. The reception staff were very friendly and there is ample parking in the hotel carpark.

No wifi code was provided at check in. The room was also pretty warm so air con and a small fridge for water would have been nice additions. The fire alarm sounded at 6.30am our second morning so we evacuated to the front of the hotel with many of the other guests. Unfortunately there was no staff member to be found or to direct guests which led to some confusion. After a period of over 30mins one of the other guests went back in to see what was happening and came out to tell everyone we could reenter.

Very comfortable bed. Perfectly clean room and bathroom. Quick check-in. A wide selection to choose from at breakfast, and a decent breakfast too I have to say. This hotel covered all the basics and above that too. Overall, very happy with my stay.

Two very minor and easy things to fix. - The wall-mounted hairdryer might well be older than me. Get a friend to blow on your hair. It will be more effective. - Second thing is the coffee at breakfast. It was just awful. Easily the worst I've had in years. Coffee/tea is probably the most important thing at breakfast for many people for a good start, and sadly they severely underachieve in this area.

Great location, ease of parking and general appearance of the hotel. Spacious room with comfy beds. High standard of cleanliness.

Information about hotel facilities hard to find so were unable to access the spa. We were allocated an accessible room. The toilet seat was too high high and shower ran hit and cold. Shower cubicle outdated. With trims needing renewed. When we asked if we could change rooms we were told that these rooms were for the use of everyone. I wish they would explain this in advance. Breakfast okay but nothing great. Staff efficient but not overly pleasant.

Location was good once I found it. There were numerous signs unfortunately finding them was difficult when driving in traffic. We were driving in circles for a long time. The location was quiet and relaxed.

Parking outside of the apartment not guaranteed if spaces filled by others. Difficult for person with mobility limitations. I managed by dropping everyone off then Parking in main car park which is a good size. Late at night I moved car as space became vacant. It worked out well.

The hotel is in an excellent location out of town but so close to it at the same time. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite. Very spacious , main bathroom and ensuite in the other room , beds extremely comfortable , another room like a sitting room which was great like a home away from home, parking available right at our door and no noise whatsoever. Would highly recommend this hotel . Great value for money ,
