Niamh welcomed us as we arrived, and was very friendly throughout our stay. The room was clean and big and comfortable enough for the 4 of us. The children enjoyed playing pool and playing on the swing in the garden. The cooked breakfast was lovely, and there was a great range of cereals, yoghurt and we particularly enjoyed the fresh fruit salad. Location is great, not too far from town.

The ensuite is small so steams up quickly, even with the window open. Not a criticism as such, just a comment!

The lady who owns the hotel is the manager, she is a smart and educated person and she is very generous as she made our stay very comfortable, and she went beyond that with her generosity to us when I wanted to ask for a taxi she said to me (I am going and I will take you on my way) and indeed she took us with her in her car to our destination. Thank you very much indeed, we appreciate it

The host Niamh was just the perfect balance of helpful and friendly without being too intrusive. The breakfast was very good and from the moment you entered you were confident that everything was going to be alright because the guest house was spotless. I loved the really powerful shower( better than my own😁)

Drove down from Derry stayed here as it was close to GAA grounds that we had a game at. Owners where lovely and friendly. Nice wee friendly bar just two mins up the road, they had great facilities including darts board that we all had use off and not forgetting the 1st class breakfast! Unreal! Thank you very much for a great stay and making us feel so welcome.

Can’t fault a single thing.

Location was great. Ronan and Niamh were sp nice and accommodating helped us with transport to a wedding reception we were attending. Breakfast choices were great and so hot when we received sane. I would definitely stay at this premises again it was excellent.

We liked everything and had no complaints about anything.

Non vegetarian breakfast was nice. Beds comfy and very clean and quiet. The Hodson Bay very close and only a short drive to Athlone town. Hostess was very friendly and chatty.

Would have liked more vegetarian options such as vegetarian bacon, sausages, hash brown or fried potatoes, mushrooms.

Excellent easy to reach location, room was spacious and well maintained with little extras that I did not expect. Breakfast in the morning was top level, fresh and made to order. Host very nice and accommodating lady.

Located close to town but far enough that you can escape into the countryside. The hospitality offered by the hosts was beyond expectations - they were so helpful and also had the perfect balance between being available and not in the way that some bed and breakfasts can be. The breakfast was literally perfect, fresh and really tasty with plenty of options. The room was exactly what you need. Clean, all of the standard amenities you would expect - new towels, lovely bed, great shower and unlike some hotels, enough electric points in good locations to the bed so you can charge a phone or laptop. the WiFi was free and very fast. You could easily work here. All in all I would absolutely recommend to anyone and there are some lovely walks nearby as very close to Hodson Bay.

We stayed in the Alverna houses B&B for a wedding, and i have to say it was just so welcoming from the beautiful rooms to a gorgeous breakfast. It was so clean and the ower was so nice and very friendly. I would highly recommend this b&b to anyone.

Breakfast was varied and nice. The bed and breakfast host was really nice and made us feel like we were at home. All the rooms in the house were super clean. Would recommend this B&B to everyone we know.
