We recently stayed at the Sheraton Hotel and was genuinely surprised by just how excellent the experience was. From check-in to check-out, everything was seamless and exceeded my expectations. The hotel offers a fantastic selection of dining options, with two great restaurants, a lively bar, and even a private residence bar, making it easy to find the perfect atmosphere to unwind. The food was absolutely fantastic—every meal was a delight. The amenities were equally impressive. The pool, spa, and gym were top-notch, providing the perfect balance of relaxation and fitness options. The facilities were well-maintained and added an extra layer of luxury to the stay. Above all, the management and staff were outstanding. Their professionalism, attentiveness, and friendliness truly set the Sheraton apart. They made the experience even more enjoyable with their top-class service. I can’t recommend this hotel enough and will definitely be returning. A truly fantastic stay!

Very spacious room with panoramic windows, loved that, plenty of facilities, e.g. iron and board, towelling robe and slippers, quality towels, and appreciated green options. Use of Nespresso proved too difficult for me, got the sequence wrong, you need instructions. Loved the spacious bed, pillows, glad no piles of extra pillows! plenty of wardrobe space, fridge I had to ask about. Again a card explaining how it functioned, glad to have a safe.

Instructions for Nespresso machine lacking, on closer inspection would say the room needed a refit. E.G. stain by window on carpet, veneer peeling on coffee/tea area, tiles in bathroom marked in places. Public areas very impressive and choice of venues, however whilst waiting for friends thought some chairs by entrance certainly needed replacing, some worn to thread. Very surprised at that. One black sofa very tired, In summary enjoyed the spaciousness of the reception areas etc. Would stay there again, very good location as I used the train

Everything was fab. It was my partners birthday, brought him there as a surprise and he was wowed by the hotel. Loved the room, it was in a lovely setting not overlooked and the food served in the restaurant was excellent. Breakfast was v good and the ambience was lovely in the restaurant for both our evening meal and breakfast. Our stay was 9.9 out of ten. Staff couldn't be more accommodating and friendly. A big bonus is the free parking in the underground car park which is one of the reasons that I chose the Sheraton.

The orange juice at breakfast wasn't great. That was the only downside. Juice should be freshly squeezed. Otherwise a fab spread and again the breakfast had everything you could possibly want and my partner gave it a 10 out of 10 and he's not easily pleased at the best of times!

Room - Excellent we got an upgrade with a lovely view in the Tower. Leisure facilities clean and staff very welcoming. Bed comfortable. Room very well kept and tidy. Receptionist on arrival very friendly and helpful. Location very good as in the town and by the shopping centre. The free parking a good bonus especially as this was extended into Saturday when we departed and allowed us time to explore Athlone more.

Breakfast was a let down. Pricey for what it was. The staff also closed down the drink facilities right at 10:30 which included drinks (orange juice etc) and the coffee machine. After a fry having no drink wasn't ideal. Numerous customers were still looking to use the coffee machine at 10:30 and the machine was opened up to stop people from using it. A longer "grace2 period would of been useful and not such a stringent timing even after asking a member of staff. If this was the case with such timings we should have been informed when we entered at 10am and we could have went to a local café. Otherwise the stay was excellent.

What can I say again about this hotel? Second time staying here and didn't disappoint again...first class friendly staff, location amazing(right next to shopping centre, bars shops etc, spotlessly clean hotel, big spacious room...Still havnt had the chance to check out the leisure facilities but I hope to next time maybe bring my Fiancé as a treat lol we even were given complimentary breakfast by the hotel which we wer so grateful for it was a fabulous gesture and just made us love this place even more! Can't wait to go back hopefully very soon!!!! X

The room was large with very good, natural light. We requested extra pillows and these were supplied. We ate in the bar one evening and the food and service were very good. The Service at breakfast was very professional. The breakfast room is huge, unlike in many hotels. We enjoyed the leisure centre. The hotel is beside a very good shopping centre which can be accessed from the hotel. We travelled by train and the hotel was a 10 minute walk from the train station.

The room and bathroom were a little cold ...we had to ask for a heater. The quilt on the bed was too light for this time of year and I don't think there were any extra blankets in the wardrobes. We did not see flowers anywhere, in the hotel...unusual for a 4 star hotel.

It’s very confusing as to where to park in the underground carpark for easiest access to the hotel. Also it can be a bit confusing finding rooms. We had to help several people that we met on corridors trying to find their way around. One very elderly man in particular was trying to get to his room in the tower section. He was unsteady on his feet with a large suitcase. We took his bag and brought job to his room from reception. I feel in this case a member of staff should have brought him.

We were upgraded to the Tower and the room was lovely and spacious with lovely views of the town and onwards to the Shannon. Dinner was nice and reasonably priced in the bar.

Breakfast was nice but the buffet area was quite crowded and maybe a little cramped in the area to get bread, tea/coffee. The hot food queue was lengthy for people waiting. But some better spacing might help this? For dinner, I got the lamb shank which was nice and well cooked, but the portion of veg offered was tiny and was disapointing. I probably would have receivedmore if I'd asked but just to be cognisant of the fact that veg is probably an area that people like to have enough of when eating out (to compensate for the other less healthy choices!)

Central location, easy walk to central shops, restaurants and interesting sites, such as Athlone Castle. The reception, restaurants, bar, lounge are very comfortable and spacious. The room was large with floor to ceiling windows and view of Shannon waterway in the distance. Everything about the room suggested diligent and well disciplined maintenance by staff. Bed was extremely comfy. Breakfast was the perfect morning buffet. All staff were extremely polite and helpful, putting customers first.

Could not complain about anything.

Good facilities. Nice bathtub. Central location with parking.

We tried to be green by not having our towels cleaned but despite putting the signs out as requested everyday the towels were replaced. Multiple bottles of water were left outside our room despite the fact that we clearly were not using the bottled water. The bottled water has labels on it saying how green it is which is simply not true. The lifts are not well programmed and have insufficient capacity for the size of the hotel. At least you get to meet other guests going up and down in the lifts to your final destination.
