We recently stayed at the Sheraton Hotel and was genuinely surprised by just how excellent the experience was. From check-in to check-out, everything was seamless and exceeded my expectations. The hotel offers a fantastic selection of dining options, with two great restaurants, a lively bar, and even a private residence bar, making it easy to find the perfect atmosphere to unwind. The food was absolutely fantastic—every meal was a delight. The amenities were equally impressive. The pool, spa, and gym were top-notch, providing the perfect balance of relaxation and fitness options. The facilities were well-maintained and added an extra layer of luxury to the stay. Above all, the management and staff were outstanding. Their professionalism, attentiveness, and friendliness truly set the Sheraton apart. They made the experience even more enjoyable with their top-class service. I can’t recommend this hotel enough and will definitely be returning. A truly fantastic stay!

Room - Excellent we got an upgrade with a lovely view in the Tower. Leisure facilities clean and staff very welcoming. Bed comfortable. Room very well kept and tidy. Receptionist on arrival very friendly and helpful. Location very good as in the town and by the shopping centre. The free parking a good bonus especially as this was extended into Saturday when we departed and allowed us time to explore Athlone more.

Breakfast was a let down. Pricey for what it was. The staff also closed down the drink facilities right at 10:30 which included drinks (orange juice etc) and the coffee machine. After a fry having no drink wasn't ideal. Numerous customers were still looking to use the coffee machine at 10:30 and the machine was opened up to stop people from using it. A longer "grace2 period would of been useful and not such a stringent timing even after asking a member of staff. If this was the case with such timings we should have been informed when we entered at 10am and we could have went to a local café. Otherwise the stay was excellent.

The room was large with very good, natural light. We requested extra pillows and these were supplied. We ate in the bar one evening and the food and service were very good. The Service at breakfast was very professional. The breakfast room is huge, unlike in many hotels. We enjoyed the leisure centre. The hotel is beside a very good shopping centre which can be accessed from the hotel. We travelled by train and the hotel was a 10 minute walk from the train station.

The room and bathroom were a little cold ...we had to ask for a heater. The quilt on the bed was too light for this time of year and I don't think there were any extra blankets in the wardrobes. We did not see flowers anywhere, in the hotel...unusual for a 4 star hotel.

We were upgraded to the Tower and the room was lovely and spacious with lovely views of the town and onwards to the Shannon. Dinner was nice and reasonably priced in the bar.

Breakfast was nice but the buffet area was quite crowded and maybe a little cramped in the area to get bread, tea/coffee. The hot food queue was lengthy for people waiting. But some better spacing might help this? For dinner, I got the lamb shank which was nice and well cooked, but the portion of veg offered was tiny and was disapointing. I probably would have receivedmore if I'd asked but just to be cognisant of the fact that veg is probably an area that people like to have enough of when eating out (to compensate for the other less healthy choices!)

We tried to be green by not having our towels cleaned but despite putting the signs out as requested everyday the towels were replaced. Multiple bottles of water were left outside our room despite the fact that we clearly were not using the bottled water. The bottled water has labels on it saying how green it is which is simply not true. The lifts are not well programmed and have insufficient capacity for the size of the hotel. At least you get to meet other guests going up and down in the lifts to your final destination.

The hotel is really cosy and stylish. Handy to get to and park. The rooms were nice, comfy, clean and perfect temperature! Bed very comfy! All the staff were really welcoming and genuinely friendly. Bar was lovely and comfy to sit in with a busy toddler and the food was great. We will def be returning.

It was a little bit difficult to navigate around the hotel/shopping centre with a pram, two sets of lifts made it confusing but we figured it out by the time we were checking out ☺️ Breakfast was just ok could be improved, croissants were hard and muffins really dry. The room service menu seemed to offer better options?? Def need a second coffee machine as there was a constant queue.

We were given a complimentary upgrade to a room in the tower. It was spacious and quite - well away from the hen party and wedding and any other festivities that were happening ! Breakfast options were good and had a corner for coeliacs like me. The free parking is great I was in and out of the car park a few times so found this very handy. The frontline staff are what makes or breaks a hotel and the staff I dealt with are an asset to this hotel. Any staff I interacted with (reception and restaurant) seemed happy, efficient and friendly I asked for gluten free toast but it came out more like warmed bread. I asked for it to be toasted some more and the waitress kindly obliged. Sometimes staff can make you feel like you're an inconvenience and I would just have not eaten it and said nothing but this was absolutely not the case here. I addition I had left my ID at reception and before I even knew I had forgotten it a staff member had brought it up to my room for me. As I said previously the staff are a true asset of this hotel.

Beautiful hotel with easily accessible parking in the shopping centre, free to hotel residents. Good size rooms with particularly large bathrooms. The pool and sauna/steam room were good for some relaxation in the evenings. We ate really well at the onsite bar/bistro which was reasonably priced. It's easy to walk from the hotel into the town centre and to the riverside where you can pick up a boat tour of the Loch and the Shannon river. It's about 25 mins to drive to the very old site of Clonmacnoise which is well worth a visit. Although there's not much in Athlone itself, the surrounding area is very beautiful, including the magnificent local horses.

I really liked the variety of foods that were available for Breakfast. The Staff were very friendly & provided a high level of Customer Service. I also enjoyed the feeling of space in the Breakfast Room & the Hotel as a whole. The food was warm, fresh & tasted delicious.

It took a while to find the butter. As you know it's very important to have butter close at hand since it spreads very well on warm toast. I also think a tray would have come in handy. Otherwise, I had a perfect Breakfast!!

I had an amazing stay at this hotel! From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the cleanliness and overall comfort of the property. The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff went above and beyond to make my experience even more enjoyable. A special thanks to Risma and Damjan, who provided outstanding hospitality during breakfast time. Their friendly and helpful attitude truly made the stay memorable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a relaxing and welcoming environment.
