I stayed with a group of friends at the weekend, the location is very central, Colin and the team were also very helpful in trying to assist me in finding lost items of my own doing in Athlone town centre, overall the staff were extremely helpful and even offered an extra nights accommodation, you won't find this level of customer service in many other locations in Athlone mind Ireland. They also went above & beyond contacting around other locations on a busy Sunday (which they didn't have to do). If you are looking for top-tier customer service with comfortable rooms and tasty food, this is the spot for you.
I didn't find any faults during my stay.

Simple and basic accommodation. Great food in the bar, and really great staff. Kat, particularly, looked after us amazingly (sorry I forgot to leave a proper tip in my hungover state). Location is great, about 3 minute walk to Sean’s bar and the castle. Almost as close to the town centre. Clean towels provided for the room, and refreshed during our stay. We will probably stay here again on our next visit. There’s a car park a few minutes walk away which charges €3 a day and free overnight. We used it with no problems.
The shower was a little weak. Bathroom could’ve done with a bit of a general refresh but it was clean and functional.

Good location and easy access to local bars and restaurants by foot.
Cosy stay with excellent food. Fish & chip dinner was beautiful with lightly battered cod and home made chips. Menu was good with some nice traditional Irish food dishes. Breakfast the next morning was lovely. A generous breakfast, full Irish and eggs benedict for us and all was very tasty and set us up for the day. We will be back soon.

Great location downtown Athlone, handy for eating out and seeing the beautiful Shannon. The premises was welcoming and very typical Irish pub atmosphere. The rooms were basic but spotless, ideal for a group or big family needing a short and convenient stay.
Nothing to dislike, it is very good value and does not advertise as a high end or boutique type accommodation - meets basic needs of clean service and nice hot water.

Comfy bed. Really lovely helpful staff. Very welcoming. Good bathroom. Functional room. Tea and coffee available for free downstairs. Very central location, beside cathedral, castle and river. Parking closeby. Good price for this town.
Lukewarm water. No curtains just a blind.

Staff was very nice, even ended up having drinks there one night! Large rooms, easy to use shower. Love that check-in was in a large book!! Close to everything we wanted to see on both sides of the river. Easily walkable.
Unfortunately no lift and many stairs - carry only what you need. No nearby parking lot, the street parking machine was broken and hard to find a spot to even unload, but that seems to be the case in Ireland. Hot water wasn't on in the morning but staff quickly turned it on once notified.

The staff were so helpful. Helped me with booking bus tickets and taxis. The food was really nice and we had 2 reasonably priced meals there which were delicious. (Gluten free toasted sandwich was the nicest I’ve had). The staff seem happy in their work and created a wonderful atmosphere.
I know a kettle in the bedroom was not promised on the website but I really did miss having a cup of tea first thing in the morning or having the freedom to make myself one any other time.
