We recently stayed at the Sheraton Hotel and was genuinely surprised by just how excellent the experience was. From check-in to check-out, everything was seamless and exceeded my expectations. The hotel offers a fantastic selection of dining options, with two great restaurants, a lively bar, and even a private residence bar, making it easy to find the perfect atmosphere to unwind. The food was absolutely fantastic—every meal was a delight. The amenities were equally impressive. The pool, spa, and gym were top-notch, providing the perfect balance of relaxation and fitness options. The facilities were well-maintained and added an extra layer of luxury to the stay. Above all, the management and staff were outstanding. Their professionalism, attentiveness, and friendliness truly set the Sheraton apart. They made the experience even more enjoyable with their top-class service. I can’t recommend this hotel enough and will definitely be returning. A truly fantastic stay!

Good choice at breakfast. Dishes refilled as required.

More staff training on laundry. Seemed some confusion between laundry list and reality. We found out personal laundry went to Galway!!! Only got it back when we were on the outskirts of town leaving. .It went to reception before 9.00 on Thurs and got a call around 16.00 on the Monday.!!!! Poor lighting for putting on makeup. Took some time to get room made up. Perhaps staff shortage in this area. Had to ask to have it made up on one occasion. Too similar menus in the main restaurant and the bistro bar

Very spacious room with panoramic windows, loved that, plenty of facilities, e.g. iron and board, towelling robe and slippers, quality towels, and appreciated green options. Use of Nespresso proved too difficult for me, got the sequence wrong, you need instructions. Loved the spacious bed, pillows, glad no piles of extra pillows! plenty of wardrobe space, fridge I had to ask about. Again a card explaining how it functioned, glad to have a safe.

Instructions for Nespresso machine lacking, on closer inspection would say the room needed a refit. E.G. stain by window on carpet, veneer peeling on coffee/tea area, tiles in bathroom marked in places. Public areas very impressive and choice of venues, however whilst waiting for friends thought some chairs by entrance certainly needed replacing, some worn to thread. Very surprised at that. One black sofa very tired, In summary enjoyed the spaciousness of the reception areas etc. Would stay there again, very good location as I used the train

Breakfasts were very good, as was the dinner we had in the hotel - the fixed price dinner menu offered good value for money when compared with similar menus in the town of Athlone,

The car park is shared with the integral shopping centre. We arrived on a Saturday and it was difficult to find a parking space near to the hotel entrance because of weekend shoppers, and we had tp park in the lower car park B. The entrance to the hotel is poorly signposted from the car park and we ended up carrying our luggage through the shopping centre because of it. On checking out we had to use two lids because there is no direct lift to the lower car park.

All the staff were very friendly always said hello to us passing by or when in the reception area. The staff members who i checked in and out with both were very friendly and helpful too. The breakfast staff in the restaurant were very helpful with information about what they food they had to offer and checked up on us during our breakfast too to ensure everything was ok. Altogether it was a lovely hotel and enjoyed our stay here and could be a return in the future if ever planning a trip back to Athlone.

Car Park being in the shopping centre made things a little difficult to find the hotel not a major issue however.

Had two rooms reserved and were in separate buildings, VERY far from each other. This would be a major problem if our kids were any younger Hotel is attached to a shopping mall and parking in the ramp and getting into hotel with luggage and wheelchair was difficult. Yes wheelchair accessible, but navigation was challenging Restaurant was expensive and dining options outside hotel were few (mall entirely closed by 6 or 7pm) Our king room windows sheers were tattered and torn, not a problem but very off putting for high end hotel

I believe our accommodation was upgraded. Room was spacious, comfortable and well equipped (broken hairdryer replaced within minutes) Breakfas was good and the highlight was the complementary lounge for guests in our accommodation, very comfortable with free drinks and snacks. Car parking in the shopping centre car park (designated area) was free which was a pleasant surprise. Finally, we arrive early but were able to access the room immediately.

View from the room was drab and depressing. Layout of hotel was complicated as there were basically 2 distinct parts. Information on breakfast and facilities in the room was sparse.

Everything was fab. It was my partners birthday, brought him there as a surprise and he was wowed by the hotel. Loved the room, it was in a lovely setting not overlooked and the food served in the restaurant was excellent. Breakfast was v good and the ambience was lovely in the restaurant for both our evening meal and breakfast. Our stay was 9.9 out of ten. Staff couldn't be more accommodating and friendly. A big bonus is the free parking in the underground car park which is one of the reasons that I chose the Sheraton.

The orange juice at breakfast wasn't great. That was the only downside. Juice should be freshly squeezed. Otherwise a fab spread and again the breakfast had everything you could possibly want and my partner gave it a 10 out of 10 and he's not easily pleased at the best of times!

Room - Excellent we got an upgrade with a lovely view in the Tower. Leisure facilities clean and staff very welcoming. Bed comfortable. Room very well kept and tidy. Receptionist on arrival very friendly and helpful. Location very good as in the town and by the shopping centre. The free parking a good bonus especially as this was extended into Saturday when we departed and allowed us time to explore Athlone more.

Breakfast was a let down. Pricey for what it was. The staff also closed down the drink facilities right at 10:30 which included drinks (orange juice etc) and the coffee machine. After a fry having no drink wasn't ideal. Numerous customers were still looking to use the coffee machine at 10:30 and the machine was opened up to stop people from using it. A longer "grace2 period would of been useful and not such a stringent timing even after asking a member of staff. If this was the case with such timings we should have been informed when we entered at 10am and we could have went to a local café. Otherwise the stay was excellent.

We were upgraded to a tower suite which was a nice touch. Carolina (receptionist) was very attentive and provided check-in information with professionalism. The hotel restaurant for breakfast and dinner delivered, good service and ample space for patrons to enjoy their meals. The location of the hotel in the heart of Athlone is a huge selling point.

Coffee machine was broken during one of the breakfast sittings as the ordinary coffee did not taste nice. The coffee machine was fixed for the following day's breakfast service.
