Alacoque (pronounced Alako; rhymes with Alamo) is a beautiful, charming hostess who made me feel right at home. The house was built in 1840 and beautifully restored. Everything inside and outside is picture-perfect. Quiet, peaceful location. Know that all restaurants in Athlone stop serving food at 9pm, and alcohol is not sold in stores after 10pm. So if you are starving and shaking for a drink from the white-knuckled drive, plan accordingly.

Anything I would say here is simply nitpicky. Everything was fine. If the host wants any feedback for improvement, I’m happy to share the 1-2 things privately. Nothing was overtly negative. But, do ask for the WiFi code upon check-in as it isn’t posted anywhere and if you rely on WiFi to communicate with the host, you won’t be able to once she is gone.

The Moynure House Boutique B&B is located in the country away from Athlone. The property is gorgeous and peaceful. We took a walk along a path that rings part of the property and saw Betsy (a horse) and some cows. The bed was very comfortable; the shower had good water pressure. The area is quiet; no traffic noise. The breakfast of cereal, fluffy scrambled eggs. toast, and fruit was delicious.

The guest rooms are on the second floor, which is accessible only by a small spiral staircase. It was difficult to maneuver our bags up the stairs. Like many B&Bs in Ireland, this one didn't have wash cloths. Clearly, the guest rooms were part of the owners' home. They were very pleasant, but did not seem to want to engage with the guests other than to show us the room and feed us breakfast.

Situated in fabulous countryside surroundings, very beautiful and peaceful. Warmly welcomed with a very professional attitude wile having a lovely family feeling on arrival. Grounds and house front are very well kept and clean. Again, a warm and welcome homly feel on entry to property. Accommodation was immaculately clean throughout, comfortable and warm with all facilities available to you being all you could ask for and more than enough. Fantastic grounds and surrounding area to walk and take in surrounding area. Wifi and plenty of parking space. Excellent value for money and an enjoyable stay.

I really can't fill 2 or 3 sentences on this topic as there wasn't anything I disliked about my stay or the property and the facilities provided.

When we pulled up to the location it looked just like the picture. Very pristine and lovely. I noticed they planted trees along the drive that added to the esthetic. We were invited inside by the owner and he very nicely showed us to our room. He then explained the beautiful horse that was on the property; to which we fell in love with. Then he pointed us to a trail that is on the property for a nice little walk. In the morning, we had a full Irish breakfast that was very good and talked with the owners a bit more.

Nothing on their part. I would have liked to stay longer to enjoy their company and get to know them more. It was a wonderful stay and very relaxing.

The property was close enough to Athlone to enjoy the many things that it had to offer but also far enough to be such a peaceful place. Gerry was amazing from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Attentive enough to help us settle in and help us also find what we suit us in Athlone but allowed us space to relax together. Highly recommend.

First off, let me say the hosts were very warm and welcoming. Their property is charming and very lovely. There is parking on the property and lovely views from the windows. My room was comfortable and had a private bath. Breakfast was huge…. Had a traditional Irish breakfast that was beautifully served. I would recommend Moynure if you are looking for something charming and more personal than a hotel chain.

It was perfect!

Very quiet peaceful setting. Close to nearest town. Clean room. Very friendly host. Location was great. Gardens were fantastic. Spiral staircase a little off-putting for carrying luggage up and down but overall a good experience.

Breakfast wasn't served u till 8.30 so not suitable for those having to be in work at nine. Or needing to travel. Therefore felt not great value for money if booking in at 5.30pm only to leave early nxt morning. Felt for one night for those travelling for work was very overpriced.

It was one of the nicer places I have stayed and our host was a very nice lady. Grounds and house well kept and clean.

If I could reccomend anything it would be that the room needs a mirror. The only place there was a mirror was in the bathroom so when you need to use hairdryer you can't see what you are doing.

It was a very peaceful location in beautifully clean accommodation. An excellent hostess and breakfast. Within a 10 minute drive into Athlone where there are a number of restaurants, bars etc. A good stop off between Galway and Dublin.

Not well signed and therefore a little difficult to find

The surroundings were amazing, hosts were very kind and the place itself was lovely.

I would suggest maybe investing in a full length mirror as there was none in either bedroom, other than that it was wonderful
