Mark and Linda were welcoming and accommodating hosts. We required an earlier check in as we were staying in Athlone for a wedding and they made sure this was possible for us. The room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The entire property was immaculately kept and is in a great location, within a 15 minute walk to the town centre. We normally stay in hotels but would be quick to stay in a B&B again after this pleasant experience.

We really appreciated the flexible check in when we arrived early, the spacious parking, clean spaces and comfy room . The bottled water was a nice touch and the shower was great. We chose for the location to walk around town & have drinks at infamous Sean's Bar and it was perfect for that; a short 10-15 walk along a flat road. Can also recommend Gertie Brownes Bar & Bistro; great meal there.

Everything was great. Price seemed a bit high, but I guess the location demands it.

Everything about the property had a sincerely homely atmosphere to it, and Linda was a fantastic and pleasantly accommodating host. She went above and beyond with her kindness and made for a phenomenal overall experience. Highest rating possible, will definitely be visiting again!

I felt so at home I forgot to keep my volume down while wathing TV. Luckily, the walls are solid concrete so I'm hoping I wasn't too much of a disturbance :)

Great position, great money for value, room big enough 2 people and luggage and quiet for a good sleep. The check in was fast and the owner very kind and professional. The place is well located in town, 10 minutes walk from the center, and with a parking lot in the property. The breakfast had a wide choice of meal, and fresh juices, coffee and tea and milk. Everything was delicious. I will definitely stay at Shannonside House again the next time in Athlone!

We received a very warm welcome on arrival from Mark & Linda into their immaculate home. The room was exceptional & very comfortable which made the stay just perfect. The property is very quiet at night & the breakfast is high quality, freshly cooked to order & fantastic. Mark & Linda are genuinely superb hosts & a pleasure to meet. I would highly recommend staying at Shannonside House when visiting Athlone.

Linda and Mark were such wonderful hosts!!! Linda gave us recommendations for places to grab a pint and get dinner. such friendly amazing people would recommend for sure!!! we were a total of 7 people and they treated us all so wonderfully, I don’t think I ever seen either of them without a smile and a pleasant word. Rooms were very clean, and comfortable. if you needed anything Linda was there to accommodate. Would definitely recommend for a family of two or a group. thank you Linda and Mark for making our stay so enjoyable!!!

this place is the place to stay! the staff were so lovely and welcoming and made the stay very nice. the breakfast was so good! had everything you want and you can ask for anything that you think is missing. the place is in a great location to walk in to the town, the town is so sweet as well. when I asked where to go for dinner the owner knew a great little Italian and that didn't disappoint at all! I will be back and will be staying again for sure!

the key didn't always work in the door.

This was the most Amazing stay in my opinion! The facility was absolutely beautiful and the staff was amazing. Not only did they accommodate everyone but they were genuine and kind. They greeted us when we arrived and welcomed us like family and shared great conversations. We woke up to the most authentic home cooked meal and our rooms were cozy well kept and bright! This is what I imagined a true bed and breakfast to be and they still exceeded our expectations! Thank you so much!

I wish we could of stayed longer.

Nice hosts, a cosy and beautiful house. The bed was really comfortable. Overall, I would recommend going there.

Considering the price paid, the room is too small for two people, but I was happy as I was alone. The shower head fell off while I was taking a shower and cut my lips, resulting in bleeding. During my checkout, I could not see anyone to talk about, so I just left.

Our hosts were friendly and helpful and the location is well within walking distance of the centre of Athlone.

Although I could connect to the private wifi, there was no internet access available, perhaps due to contention. The room was cosy, rather than spacious and there was a certain amount of noise from other guests.
