Staying at the Cartron House was the icing on the cake of a wonderful stay in Ireland. Tim and Ann were the epitome of what you would expect of gracious, welcoming Irish hosts - and so much more. From the first day they made me feel as if I were an old friend. They were very responsive to texts literally getting back to me in minutes. The grounds were lovely, the room was spacious and clean and the Nature trail was a very nice touch. The breakfast was amazing. But the best part was the welcoming nature of the hosts.

Beautiful property and obviously a great destination for weddings. The host was lovely and we enjoyed chatting with her when we arrived. We had a comfortable room. Breakfast was delicious! Really we had no complaints when we went out there.

The location is outside of any larger cities or tourist attractions. Be prepared to drive down those small windy Irish roads. But if you don’t mind going off the beaten path (or trying to save money getting out of the city) this is a great place to get out to.

There's not enough words to describe how joyous I found our stay at the Catron house. The property was clean and well cared for and absolutely stunning. The atmosphere was so serene. Check in/our was so easy. Ann herself was such a delight, very accommodating and her suggestions for places to see never failed to disappoint. I'll be missing her breakfasts for a good long while. The nearby town of Loughrea had everything we could need.

Ann and her husband were very friendly and welcoming. There’s a very informal atmosphere. It’s more like a small hotel than a B & B. The breakfast was excellent each morning, especially the blackcurrant ps with yogurt! The house itself is clean and comfortable. Also, the nature walk around the perimeter of the property is very pleasant, especially early in the morning. Ann recommend Walsh’s pub/restaurant in nearby Woodford as a place to eat. It was wonderful and the food was delicious.

There was nothing that I didn’t like.

Nestled in a picturesque countryside setting, the main house is just beautiful. There is ample free parking. The host exudes warmth and attentiveness, ensuring a memorable stay. The rooms are immaculate, with meticulous attention to detail evident at every turn. Crisp, pristine bed linens await, accompanied by the indulgence of a luxurious waterfall shower, complete with a thoughtful diffuser attachment catering to curly hair needs which I being curly haired have never had anywhere before and I always forget mine. Each room boasts tea and coffee making facilities, while breakfast presents an array of options too numerous to list. My breakfast included creamy porridge adorned with fresh berries, flawlessly cooked eggs, and top-tier sausages. You could hear a pin drop all night.

The fact I only got to stay one night I didn’t want to leave,

Ann was a very accommodating host. We made a late booking, unfortunately our Sat nav decided to take us completely out of our way. Luckily Ann gave us directions and provided soup and sandwiches as nowhere nearby was still serving food. Breakfast was massive and very tasty. Great selection of food available. Ann was very friendly and we would have stayed another night if Cartron House had not been fully booked. Everything was great, and we would definitely stay here again if in the area. Lovely setting.

What a fantastic experience and such a warm friendly hard working family. I was made so welcome. The breakfast was excellent. I would give it 5 stars .It was a huge bonus that I could bring my dog with me. Beautiful countryside and they have a nature walk that surrounds their country house and lands. I can't wait to get back.

I really cannot find anything to complain about.

Absolutely loved our 5 night stay here. The breakfast choices were fabulous and they were cooked wonderfully well, with great choices for cereal as well as toast, croissants etc. Ann was a fantastic host with great ideas for places to visit and to eat and so welcoming and friendly. We left feeling that we were family and not paying guests 🥰

There was nothing we didn’t like, we loved staying here and can’t wait to return back one day.

We travel with our two dogs, which is not always easy, but Ann made us feel completely welcome and at ease and was more than accommodating in every way possible. The property is beautiful, the accommodation is comfortable and the breakfast is more than generous as well as delicious. Would definitely recommend Cartron House as a place to stay.

The fact that we had to leave!

We received a very warm welcome from the entire family. We had car trouble and were helped with contacts for a mechanic to an evening meal and the offer of us staying on an extra night. The grandsons were waiters and made top quality waiting staff. We will return!!
