Wow what a fabulous stay we had at the Raheen Woods! This beautiful hotel is located in a lovely quiet area. The gardens are lovely, the room was spotless clean and very comfortable, the bar and restaurant area had a lovely atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious! The swimming pool, sauna etc.. were very well maintained. And a huge bonus for people staying with children is a great soft play area. The staff were amazing and so helpful and friendly. Special mention to Julie and Tundy (not sure if that is spelt correctly!) who went above and beyond for us and made our stay so amazing.

Staff couldn’t have been nicer and more attentive, they were all so warm and welcoming, from the reception staff to the breakfast staff, and also the leisure attendants - all were so friendly. Loved the fairy trail and the pool, and of course the mini tubs of ice cream on arrival!

The only downside was the breakfast buffet, there was a pancake machine which the kids would have loved but it wasn’t on. The hot breakfast wasn’t great quality, very greasy. A separate menu with some options like porridge or omelettes would have been great.

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. Rooms were standard. Staff were friendly especially the girls on reception and Eileen in the bar is exceptional. The food was average.

Having had previous experience in this sector I was baffled by the waiting staff that they lifted plates from the tables both breakfast, dinner and lunch before everyone had finished. It was off-putting, as if to rush you, it meant me not finishing my food as I'm a slow eater. Don't get me wrong they were very friendly but that was one rule I remember from working in hospitality was wait until everyone is finished before collecting plates. I found it rude, no sooner was a fork down the plate was lifted. I believe that this problem could be rectified with better training.

Food was excellent. The staff were the nicest hotel staff i have come across from the moment we set foot in the reception we were made feel so welcome and they were so helpful and friendly through out our stay. Location is nice and quite 2 min drive to the little town and train station. The gardens are lovely and well kept .Nice for a little stroll around or to just sit down and enjoy the peacefulness.

The only thing that would have been nice was some aircon. It was very warm in the rooms but we just kept the windows open.

Raheen Woods Hotel offered a perfect blend of tranquility and convenience for my recent stay in Athenry. Here's a breakdown of my experience: Location: Just outside the charming town of Athenry, the hotel boasts a peaceful woodland setting. Despite the serene location, it's very accessible, being just a minute off the major motorways and a short walk from Athenry itself. This makes it a great base for exploring Athenry or venturing further into County Galway. Ambiance: The hotel itself exudes a modern and stylish atmosphere, with well-appointed rooms that blend comfort with contemporary design. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, adding to the tranquil feel. Amenities: They have a fantastic leisure center with a swimming pool, gym, and hot tub, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. They also offer a spa, though I didn't have a chance to experience it myself. Dining: I wasn't able to check out all their dining options, but the breakfast was delicious, with a full Irish breakfast on offer. They have a Mc Hales bar which offers a wide range of food selection. EV Charging: They have 2 wall box charging station in the underground car park. The hotel also includes dedicated super charging stations for Tesla owners which are now open to non Tesla drivers too but with a higher price.

Room was warm and comfortable, no outside noise, slept well. Bathrooms need a few extra products to feel a bit more welcoming, examples shower caps, body lotion etc. We enjoyed the pool, the steam room and the hot tub were great. Again no body wash in the pool showers was disappointing, but maybe it had just run out on this occasion. Pool staff were great, very friendly and offered extra towels.

Everything was pretty good except the afore mentioned lack of products in the bathroom.

Comfortable rooms. Enjoyed the pool and facilities. Dinner was lovely - waitress and bar staff very friendly!

Breakfast A lot of the hot food was empty and long wait for staff to put more out. Juice jugs empty. Had to ask for butter, tomato sauce and more bread for the toaster. There was guests at a tables but it wasn't very busy. The rest of the stay was good but breakfast on this visit was disappointing. I have stayed here before was it much busier morning after a wedding and had a much better experience at breakfast.

Modern hotel, spacious comfortable bedroom, warm friendly staff especially at reception where we received such a lovely big welcome and a free ice cream for my son! Handy to have soft play centre on site. Very family friendly hotel, felt the staff made a big effort with kids, nice fairy garden outside and good kids menu on offer too.

Swimming pool was a bit of a disastrous experience for us unfortunately. It was extremely busy with several groups of kids lessons - there was literally no room, it was so crowded, so we had to wait until they finished. Was told my 8yr old son couldn't go into ladies changing rooms with me, that we could use family changing room (there was only one family room and 3 families already waiting to use it) By the time lessons were finished and we had space to get in, we only had about 25 minutes before we were abruptly told to exit the pool as no kids allowed after 7.30pm. Also no steps down into pool, only accessible by ladders. Very disappointing pool experience and we didn't bother using it for the remainder of our stay.

The family room was a good size for us, our 3 year old and baby... there was plenty of room for our suitcases and pram, and room for our 3 year old to play. Our son loved climbing the bunk bed! Beds were comfortable and a travel cot was provided for our baby. We had breakfast included, full Irish was lovely and then all the other options and cereals, yoghurts etc which was perfect for our son. The dinner food in the restaurant was also tasty and there were plenty of options. All the staff were lovely, professional and friendly. We used the pool, went to Kardiokids and did the little Fairy trail, which were all fun. Every member of staff we met or dealt with was lovely, friendly, professional and helpful. Location wise, it was a handy little 3 min drive to Athenry main streets for food or tesco etc and also close to Galway city. I loved our stay here and would happily book again!

Everything was great! I mixed up closing times of the restaurant on Sunday evening, but we went the short journey to another restaurant for food and it was no big problem.

Everything about this hotel was perfect. The beds were so comfortable, the Receptionist on duty the evening we checked in was so professional and courteous. We had an issue with booking.com for the reservation and she did everything within her power to sort it. Based on the nights sleep in their beds and the professionalism and kindness of the Receptionist we will definately return. 5*****
