A lovely hotel with very friendly staff. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. An easy 20 minute walk into the city centre with a few routes to choose from. The restaurant was very good and the food delicious. I was worried that being next door to a bar/restaurant might be noisy but the room was very quiet.
Breakfast was like ordering in a restaurant with the usual cooked options. It therefore seemed a bit expensive to enjoy the breakfast you wanted, a shame not to have a buffet with a variety of options. No cereals or fruit, pastries or breads as offered in most hotel buffet breakfasts. A fabulous hotel but honestly, this would be something that would make me consider booking elsewhere.

Breakfast was good — lots of choices. As always, more than I could eat. Very helpful woman at reception. Free parking is a plus, especially in Galway City. There is a bus stop not far from the hotel with buses that run frequently. Easy to get in the center of town without need to drive the car and find parking. Cab ride back from the top of Eyre Square was less than nine euro. Room was large. Twin sinks in the bathroom would be useful for a couple. Remote-controlled shades blocked out all of the nighttime lights. Building is almost too secure — room card needed to get through several doorways as well as into reception after hours.
I had a hard time getting comfortable to use my laptop. The one armchair was just too big (I’m 5 feet tall). The bench at the desk was too low to use the laptop there. An office chair with adjustable height would be a very welcome addition to the existing furniture.

We booked a “deluxe” room with a king bed and it was so nice, the room and bathroom were surprisingly large and everything was very comfortable and modern. For the niceness of the room, the price was really pretty good! The food at the hotel restaurant was absolutely delicious! Expensive but not any more so than just about everywhere else. But it was some of the best food we’ve had in a while.
My only note, and I don’t want to mark it as a negative against the room necessarily, it was just kind of strange: The water in the shower and out of the tap had a very weird taste and texture. It was oddly salty and thick/milky, which was not really a problem for showering but was not ideal for brushing teeth or for filling reusable water bottles to bring with us when we left (which is the only way to have enough water as a tourist without constantly having to purchase it). We tried to fill our bottles with tap water but had to pour it out because it was completely undrinkable. Maybe it is a side effect of a water softener that the hotel has, not sure.

This is a fabulous hotel in a really central location. Suprisingly its also really quiet in the rooms and the facilities in the rooms are really comfortable. I often stay here, when it's available because the beds are so comfy, the food in the bar is top class, everything is super clean and it's really great value for money. Reluctant to give it such a high rating in case demand increases and it means I miss out, but it's hard to complain about the Huntsman Inn.
An early breakfast option would be great, if only some kind of takeaway option, especially for weekday work stays.

staff were friendly and helpful. The location was good for own transport and local transport to get anywhere you wanted within the city of Galway. Good facilities in room and good standard of cleanliness. Lots nearby to do as well.
The noise coming from the bar at any time between 10.30 up to 2.00 a.m. Rooms got quite stuffy but there was access to a window and a fan provided. Was not keen on the meals set up. Breakfast not included in price. If you went at a busy time unless booked had to wait ages for dinner. But food was worth the wait.

Room was very clean and the bathroom spacious. Although the hotel is on a very busy intersection, the sound proofing is outstanding and the room was very quiet. A small table fan was provided ( had to sit it on the floor in the corner). There is a bus stop across the road with easy access to get into Galway. Plenty of free parking at the door in the carpark. The hotel is ontop of a bar / restaurant, breakfast was served here and was ok (no alternative milks available for tea or coffee though).
The bed is squeezed into the room, To get into the other side of the bed you have to squeeze between the end of the bed and the radiator heater, then duck to not bang your head on the TV that is hanging on the wall in the corner. The Bed is also quite hard and the pillows were like bricks. There is no air-conditioning in the room.

A very comfortable stay at The Huntsmann Inn! The location is excellent — only about a 7-minute walk to the city center, which made everything super accessible. We stayed in a two-room suite, which worked perfectly for us: my friend loves warm (she stayed in one room), and I prefer cool air (so I kept the window open in the other). The bathroom was clean and modern, and we appreciated the little touches like tea, coffee, and plenty of storage space. All in all, a great hotel — would definitely recommend!

Our first impression was Andrea at the front desk. We arrived at 8:30 and called the front desk and asked, since we were so early, if there was one of the 3 rooms available where we go store our luggage until check in. She had one room available, and we were able to get in for that purpose. By 10am, the other two rooms were ready and she allowed all 3 families to check in early, which was a bonus. She was friendly, customer service driven, made our dinner reservations and an outstanding welcome to Galway! Our rooms were clean, mattress very comfortable and large bathroom. And there was an elevator! Location excellent for walking to the city center, had it not been pouring rain, but the bus stop was across the street, so that worked well. Restaurant that was attached, was excellent, as well.
Nothing…we were very peased with everything about the Huntsman Inn.

- the room was HUGE, we even had a living room and a bathtub plus shower - people were friendly - bed was super comfy - pub & restaurant downstairs but you couldn't hear a thing so very peaceful sleep at night!
- location was a bit further outside, there are buses and taxis the buses are just not very regular and only take cash! - no breakfast option, but because of the restaurant downstairs that was alright, just a bit expensive the doors in the hallway are super loud! - wifi didn't work properly in out room
