We ate one dinner in the Sophie's and it was some of the best food I've ever eaten. The roof top bar has incredible views /atmoshpere.
The bars, restaurants and ground floor coffee shop were grossly understaffed. Our first night we went to the roof top restaurant and it took over 40 minutes to receive water and cocktails... but the food was incredible. The next morning we went back to the roof top restaurant, got seated immediately as they did with everyone walking in... after 20 minutes of watching complete inactivity, with no hope for service we bolted... as did many others. The next morning (8:30 am) we decided to get a coffee in the lobby coffee bar... they were closed so the staff could help staff the rooftop restaurant. I 'm so glad that when we booked our stay online, for whatever reason, we were unable to add the breakfast to our room.... we would've been held hostage and my review would've been much harsher.

The staff were lovely- nothing was a problem, very polite, friendly and welcoming. There are 2 restaurants- both are excellent with great menus. We had delicious food and very enjoyable evenings in both. The bedroom was comfortable if compact.
I would expect the room to be serviced daily- at least to have teabags/milk refreshed/ topped up for the price you pay. Having said that, as soon as we asked, some more was promptly delivered to the room , so no complaints with the service. When lots of people were showering in the evening the drains struggled to cope and water overflowed onto the bathroom floor! This didn’t happen in the morning! That’s a design fault perhaps which is a shame as the bathroom was lovely.

The best part of this hotel is definitely the gym, pool, and sauna. It's a real gym with free weights, squat racks, etc. Almost like a Crossfit box. So, if you're someone who like to work out while you travel, this is your best bet in Galway. Pool and sauna were nice, too. The hotel definitely has a trendy vibe and cool decor.
Staff could have been more helpful (took three asks to get shampoo dispenser refilled) and bed was pretty soft. But, overall, it was a good stay.

Aesthetically pleasing hotel and room, friendly staff, great amenities e.g. pool, class bars, short walk into Latin quarter, minimal noise when in room, party / fun atomosphere around the hotel (guests and staff), free shot on check-in, adult only need not say more!!!
Bed was super uncomfortable, robes were only available on request and in short supply making trip to the pool a bit arkward, lack of car parking (although supplemental rate offered at local car park ~5min walk; a reserved set down/unloading bay would reduce the burden of transporting suitcases from car park imo)

Great venue and location for a weekend in Galway our friends came to visit us and wanted to stay
Parking nearby was a bit of a trek uphill with luggage , the record player in the bedroom took up space which was limited anyway

Location. Most all the staff was great. Everyone at the front was lovely. All were so very sweet. The restaurants.... Pretty much everyone I dealt with at the restaurants was not friendly, and some just rude. Loved the kitsch of the room. Very cool vibe. Bed was comfy. Thank you for the chocolates... they were a nice treat about mid-way through my stay.
The floor in the shower was dirty. (Found 2 short hairs 🤢) Wish I had a fan to circulate air in the room. Things stayed wet longer than usual to dry. Moldy smell started in the bathroom.

Being a pod room, the room was very small, but had everything that was needed. The decor was lovely all around the hotel. A nice selection of Munchies/MIni Bar at a 'reasonable' price. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Perfect location, couple of minutes walk to train station and into town.
The double bed was two twins put together and despite the nice thick topper there was a dip in the middle which was annoying during the night. Due to the proximity and overlook of other rooms opposite, it would be nice to have a voile type inner privacy curtain that you could have the option of pulling during the daytime, instead of having to pull the main curtains for privacy.

Beautiful hotel, within walking distance to all Galway city centre attractions. The staff were really friendly and the decor is to die for! Adored the outdoor pool and sauna/steam room facilities. I didn't have time for the gym but it is well equipped and looks gorgeous too! I loved my stay so much that I have booked a break-away for my sister and brother in law as their upcoming wedding present :)
There's nothing that I didn't like but the pod rooms are a little tight for two people. It could do with just a bit more space at either side of the bed but that is minor as the rest of the hotel, the decor and the facilities make up for it!

The lobby was charming. Breakfast at the restaurant was absolutely delicious - eggs with sourdough bread, fresh fruit, yogurt and granola -with a great view of the town. The gym was top notch with extras you don't normally see in a hotel like a leg press, full rack, heavy kettlebells and an outdoor jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and cold plunge. The design of the entire building was gorgeous. Loved the record player in the rooms.
The rooms are REALLY small. The only time I've seen a room that small was in NYC. If you have a lot of bags, there will be no where to put them. There was one luggage rack and it blocked the door to the balcony when opened. We were two people with a suitcase and backpack each, and we were crawling over our bags to get in to the bed.

This is a really nice modern hotel. The staff there is very friendly and very helpful. Even helped us get a medical device we needed. Bartender was a great guy, and if you go to the bar, get the wings, they’re awesome. Location is very good. The rooms are modern but just know they are very small. You can walk everywhere from the hotel. Definetly the nicest hotel I saw in the area. Would def stay again and recommend
Finding the Parking lot is a bit of a pain when you first get there but wasn’t an issue after that because you can walk everywhere. Rooms modern but Very small. Cant adjust a/c. It worked fine and it was May but there was no thermostat, prob would have preferred it a bit cooler. But atleast it had a/c which not every accommodation in Ireland has You need a reservation to use the pool and gym. Not a problem for us, but be aware
