The location was amazing in the centre of everything l! Staff was so accommodating let us check in early in a lovely spacious modern room! Had the best time every in Galway and staying here really soaked up Galway city life. Food was delicious got extra in the morning for breakfast! I would come back here again!

This didn’t bother me as I was enjoying listening to the music or out in it! The rooms are extremely close to the bar and you can hear everything. There is also a nightclub next door that you can also hear music from until like 3 in the morning so wouldn’t recommend if your a bad sleeper! The do provide earplugs but I personally didn’t find them helpful!

Location was excellent, elevator and air-conditioned rooms a plus. Four blocks to the bus and train stations and close to day tour meeting places. Staff were very nice and accommodating. Our room and bathroom were clean and updated. Little details like complimentary water and chocolates was a nice touch. We had a didn't disturb sign out and they had a bag of fresh towels and supplies waiting by the door for us. A little bit on the pricier side but seems Galway and Dublin are expensive places to stay in general. We opted with breakfast included and their breakfast was excellent. Gave us the option to order from the breakfast menu. Sourdough French toast was delicious and good portion. Would definitely stay here again. Others mentioned smell on the elevator but we didn't notice that. It's an old building with beautiful antique details. We came with that expectation and was happy with our stay. Galway is a charming little town and we had a lovely 3 nights stay. We requested a back room and had no noise issues. he seasonal boat tour of Inishmore (Aran big island) with Cliffs of Moher is not to be missed- just get those sea sickness patches if you are sensitive because the ride could get rough.

There can be loud music 'till 2 am.

This was our second stay at Skeffington Arms. First and foremost, we would like to commend the staff on their friendliness, efficiency and helpful attitudes - Niall (who we had met previously), Laura, Grace and Siobahn are ALL fabulous - it was like being with family! The property is in a prime location on beautiful Eyre Square - central to attractions, pubs, restaurants, shopping . . . The room was comfortable.The Skeff bar had great entertainment and an equally congenial staff.

The rooms are a little eccentric - painted in a variety of dark colors - which as a result makes rooms a little dark even with lighting -

The hotel is located facing the public park and right around the corner from Shop Street, so it's a really perfect location for Galway. On the outside the hotel looks historic and very "traditional Irish". Inside there is a beautiful traditional bar area where breakfast is served. but then the room areas have a cool modern funky vibe. It seems odd to have two totally different styles within one location, but we really liked it. There is no parking at the hotel but they direct you to a nearby lot and validate for a much lower price. The street in front of the hotel is technically "pedestrian" but we were able to pull our car there to unload and get directions to the car park. Staff from the front desk to the bar/breakfast area were exceptionally nice and helpful

The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the experience great. The location is perfect—right in the heart of Galway, within walking distance of Eyre Square, the Latin Quarter, and all the city’s top spots, also it was right next door to our pickup point for several tours. The Skeff Bar downstairs has a great ambiance with live music and a lively atmosphere.

Being in such a central location, it can get a little noisy, but the hotel has taken steps to minimise this, and it didn’t disrupt our stay. In the pub (which is part of the hotel) the bartender didn’t serve us the whiskey we requested and didn’t clarify which one we got when asked—a minor issue in an otherwise great experience.

Hotel was in a great location. Very short walk from the train station. We arrived quite early in the morning and we were able to leave our bags in the hotel reception. Room was very clean and comfortable. I had been worried about noise but there was no issue with this at all. I slept great. Rooms had air con which was a bonus. The breakfast next morning could not be beat. You get a proper served breakfast and they also have an array of pastries etc as well. And you can get a good cappuccino as part of the breakfast. Would definitely recommend this hotel. I have stayed in two other hotels in Galway and both were fine but I felt this was exceptional.

Skeffington is perfectly located for Galway Festival activities and pedestrian streets w bars and shops. Hotel is a grand art deco Irish hotel and room was enormous w excellent shower & WC. Breakfast was very good and late bar w live music a treat especially for whiskey fans!

Parking is tough in Galway at best of times and traffic very heavy during Festival. But hotel has discounted parking (€10 per 24 hrs i/o €24!) at tge Eden Square Shopping Centre which is a five minute covered walk emerging fifty yards from hotel entrance.

I love it when a hotel exceeds your expectations. I thought the Skeffington Arms would be a pretty standard (but well located) pub hotel. But it's far better than that. The location is excellent as expected, but the staff are really friendly, the rooms small but really well fitted out and the bed, shower and everything else is of good quality and everything works well. To our surprise, despite being a Friday night, we didn't get any of the expected noise (and we had prepared with good earplugs which we ended up not needing). Granted we were on the second floor and facing the back, but it was really quiet to our delight. We'd definitely recommend this hotel for a stay in Galway - not least because the pub itself is great.

Everything was really good, the rooms were smallish, with not that much room for suitcases, but that's the only small issue.

The hotel is in a perfect location, right in the main square, close to all the sights and hotspots in Galway. The room was bright and colourful with an en suite with a really good shower. Amenities like hairdryer and iron in the room. As the hotel is overhead a late bar, some rooms can be affected by noise but we were happily on a quiet room on the 2nd floor. The breakfast selection was good. The staff were lovely, very helpful and efficient and the hotel even gifted us a bottle of prosecco for my boyfriend's birthday. Coming back late was no issue, just buzz the door. They don't have parking but they reduced our Q park 24 hour car parking ticket to €10. All in all a great stay.

The only small thing that I didn't love was that breakfast is served in the same room as the late bar. I'm not sure if this part of the bar is always used at night. It was New Year's and very busy so it was used which meant that next morning there was an unavoidable smell of alcohol from the soft furnishings at breakfast. It was a little off-putting but honestly not a huge issue but if you feel it would bother you perhaps choose a room without breakfast. It also was a bit expensive but it was New Year's Eve so this is to be expected. We also booked late, perhaps we could have got better value if we booked earlier.

What a great place to stay, location was fantastic well within walking distance of everything. Our room was comfortable, great bed and a very quiet room. Meals were good from the bar however we did not have breakfast. Staff were brilliant, friendly and helpful with any request.Parking was available at the local parking station who charged half rate through the hotel which was great and only a short five minute walk from the hotel. A fantastic place to stay did not disappoint.
