The facilities are great and went through a recent refurbishment process making them truly pleasant. The location is good, being a few minutes walk from Eyre Square and the old town. Breakfast was really good while the service was a little bit slow despite few customers being present. Hotel personnel was kind and helped us both with the parking when arriving and allowed us to leave our luggage after our check out.

Information on the parking are not very clear from booking.com: the parking is located nearby (couple of minutes walk) and the hotel provides for discounts on the fee.

Lovely stylish small hotel,well appointed room, good location, parking close by. Lovely restaurent/ bar with good food/ cocktails and very good quality breakfast. Lovely professional staff.

Our only issue was how stuffy our room was with no natural airflow (we were in a courtyard room away from the street noise) - strangely there was a large aircon machine in our room which we needed to use which was very loud which really affected our second nights sleep. We mentioned how warm and stuffy it was the following morning and it was explained that they had recent problems with the heating.

Our room was on the 3rd (top) floor (with an elevator). We were in the front of the building and had a little balcony. The concierge kindly switched us from a room in the back of the building. While this room had some street noise (late music from the several pubs on the street) we still preferred it to the back of the building. Parking at ‘City Park’ just around the corner is a 3 minute walk. We appreciated that the hotel validated it for 50% off. The staff was all exceptionally friendly and helpful. The location was great for walking anywhere.

The staff made my stay even more excellent. Michelle at the front desk was very helpful when answering any questions I had. The bar staff were also fantastic. I interacted with Ricardo and Julia the most, and they were very friendly. The location of the hotel is fantastic. Super close to the bus stop, which was nice. I didn’t have to haul my heavy luggage far. I will definitely be coming back to the Hyde hotel next time I’m in Galway. Thanks y’all for a great stay!

At night the hotel locks the front door and you have to ring to be let in. There were nights that I would be out and come back to the hotel late. It’s understandable that a worker wouldn’t be at the front desk the entire night, and they would head to the back. Due to that, I had to stand outside the hotel for a good while ringing the bell until someone came. I’d suggest that the hotel allows guests to scan their hotel card to enter instead of ringing a bell and waiting to be let in.

A beautiful boutique hotel, loved the decor in the bar and restaurant, it was funky and colourful. The staff were so friendly and accomodating. We had dinner in the bar and the food was just delicious. The location was brilliant and it was very clean.

My only fault with this lovely hotel was that our group were 4 friends so we had two bedrooms, one of the bedrooms was perfect heatwise but the other one was quite chilly despite trying to adjust the radiator, also when we were eating in the bar, we were sitting by the window which was lovely looking out on to the street but again it wasn't warm, it was chilly also especially when the door opened. Besides this little inconvenience, otherwise we loved the hotel, the location was perfect, right in the heart of Galway city.

Modern upbeat design in a perfect location. Just around the corner from bus/train station but not noisy. Easy walk to the heart of Galway & Shop Street. Taxis easy to secure, as well as day tour pickup spots right there. Very nice served hot breakfast in a gorgeous dining room. Restaurant on site. Bathroom and shower were lovely. Everything was exceptionally clean!

Not all the rooms have regular windows, ours had a large skylight with a remote for electric opening & a darkening shade. And not all the rooms have air conditioning, if that’s important to you. Be sure to read the room description to see if the type you’re selecting mentions it. The most frustrating thing was managing the temperature controls, there are no instructions.

Stellar location, two restaurants on site, live music, air condition, windows that open, and room size

Bathroom: shower is laughably small and leaked all over the bathroom, creating a pool no matter what we did (the leak was from its pan, not from anything we did), and no storage or counter space. Water lukewarm for shower. Mattresses and pillows are old and flat, giving us a poor nights sleep.

Everyone was so lovely and welcoming. There wasn’t a point where the staff didn’t stop to say “hello, how are you?”. We mentioned we were on our honeymoon also. We went up to our room to unpack, when we were greeted by a knock on the door with a delicious selection of chocolates and fruits. The property itself was 10/10, immaculate and clean. Couldn’t fault The Hyde in Galway! 🥰🥰

Excellent location, beautiful decor, great food

One point of feedback for staff - there seems to be a policy re asking customers to pay for breakfast up front. I booked a room only rate and decided to eat at the hotel. There’s no need to keep asking for payment up front - I would pay for my breakfast after having looked at menu and decided what to eat like any normal venue!! This comes across as a racket.

the room was very hot, even with the heating off and the small window open, you were unable to adjust the thermostat, however the manager did bring us a fan upon request and staff were very helpful with the matter
