Management response to a problem that was not of their making.

The bedroom as described on Booking.com was not in line with the hotels description, resulting in a problem at arrival. There was no other rooms available due to race week. The management could not resolve the issue that night but later went beyond what we expected to ensure we were happy. Excellent follow up by Michael and Ciara., showing that problems happen and its the way the hotel deals with it that makes them stand out.

One of the best breakfasts I've ever had at a hotel, the usual buffet breakfast was available featuring fresh fruits, lovely cheese board, yoghurts with berries, the works. What we really enjoyed was the menu selection you could order at no extra cost. We had a delicious vegetable omelet with a side of smoked salmon and avocado as we were both avoiding bread, portions were very generous and it was very good.

Really have no complaints except the sound of a humming generator all night as we were on the ground floor and in the back, we wore ear plugs and that helped to drown it out mostly.

We stayed here for a hen party and couldn’t recommend The Hardiman enough! The staff were beyond attentive, kind and wonderful to chat too. As the organiser of the hen do, I’d noticed that the communication with the reservations team coming up to the day was exceptional and this continued throughout the stay. A big shout out in particular to Ciara and Aoife for making our stay all the more enjoyable! The rooms were clean, beds were super comfortable and breakfast was a great spread! We also had dinner in MacNeills the night before the hen do and again, the food was incredible. The hotel decor is stunning and provided the perfect backdrop to the many photos from our event! I also highly recommend the brunch + flower crown workshop experience in The Oyster bar, we had a lovely and super fun time there! Thank you again to all at The Hardiman, the team are a credit to their business!

Everything was pretty good. The hotel is dated in a quaint sort of way! Very characterful but with all the necessary mod cons. Staff marvellous. Heating just right.

Just very minor items which I would generally classify as 'it's not you, it's just me" The breakfast warming trays did not keep the food very hot especially tomatoe/mushroom unit which was practically cold. Could be an eyesight issue but room number written on card didn't stand out. Again eyesight! but elevator floor indicator not easily visible - indeed was expecting an audible announcement. Floors were a bit creaky but it felt like home. Ended up paying €10 on the parking, not bad, but didn't see it mentioned anywhere. Got at least 15 emails about the booking, which didn't give me any further useful info - made me jittery whether the booking was made or not!

Fantastic location, a few mins walk from the train station, right on lovely Eyre Square. Very close to shops, lovely restaurants, bars, theatres. Taxi rank nearby for Salthill etc. Staff were very nice at checkin. Room was a good size, tho bathroom was a bit small and lacked surfaces to put eg toiletries. One member of staff stood out- Katherine, who looked after us with a lovely cuppa (even though the kitchen was about to close!) when we returned from the Town Hall Theatre. We really, really appreciated that. Breakfast was ok, a few things let it down... very few vegetarian options (no veggie sausages, though staff did bring oat milk on request), no explanation that poached and fried eggs were available (we happened to notice them being brought to another table), but the brown soda bread was lovely and tasted home made. Would definitely come back here, it's so convenient to the train station and Galway centre.

Bathroom- a bit small and lack of shelving for toiletries. Breakfast - see above.

Overall, we had an amazing time at this beautiful and centrally located hotel that is just steps from the Royal Mile. We got a complimentary upgrade to a suite and the room was absolutely lovely. Staff were friendly, everything was very easy.

Small lobby (just because the building is old and wasn't originally designed to be a hotel), and a lackluster bar meant that it wasn't very tempting to hang out at the hotel outside of the room. The weather was beautiful but I can imaging if it were rainy we would have liked a cozy hotel bar to sit in - the one in the hotel was very dead, very expensive, and the bartended actually went somewhere else to make our drinks (I assume the restaurant).

What wasn’t to like, all of the facilities were immaculate. The location is perfect close enough to be a part of the Galway experience, but still with enough privacy. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and one of the best nights sleep on our holiday was had here. The staff were all amazing, extremely friendly and made our stay seamless. The were incredibly accommodating with our very early check out departure they ensured car was ready and kind enough to supply coffee and some small snacks for breakfast. It was an absolute pleasure and we hope to return to stay again in the future.

The location was perfect for our trip, as we were walking distance from everywhere that we wanted to visit. The rooms were comfortable with the most insane water pressure I’ve ever experienced! Breakfast was convenient and had a really good variety of options. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The decor was traditional but could’ve done with a bit of TLC, as was slightly tired in places. That was the only thing I could fault. The bathroom had a tendency to steam as there was no fan.

The hotel was spotless and the staff were so nice and helpful. It was so central to Eyre Square and the shopping district and plenty of restaurants in the vicinity

The hotel was expensive for the stay but I do appreciate that breakfast was included The TV in the room had very little channels available ..No air conditioning

A beautiful hotel in a prime location, staff couldn’t have been more helpful and the whole place was beautiful, with a very comfortable and welcoming feel. Bed was super comfortable and the room well laid out and furnished. Nice bathroom with lovely toiletries. Really great breakfast too.

There was really nothing to fault. The staff helped us with luggage up the few front steps. Parking was offsite but quite close by.
