Pool and spa were great. Food was good. Rooms were spacious and very comfortable.

Disappointed that evening meals were served in the bar rather than in the elegant dining room. This observation was addressed positively by Caroline after we raised this issue and she kindly arranged for us to eat in the dining room on our last night. She took a positive, proactive approach and proved to be a great ambassador for the hotel. Unfortunately on checking out, the receptionist on duty made no comment as to whether we had enjoyed our stay or wished us a pleasant onward journey which negated our positive experience from the previous evening.

The room was a very good size with lots of lighting and the bed was very comfortable and big! We had dinner in the bar that was very tasty and breakfast was a short and simple hot food menu with continental selections. Loads of parking available too.

The overall style of the hotel is very dated - the coloured carpets, extensive pine wood everywhere and flagstone tiles in the bar feel out of date and very much stuck in a certain era. There were a lot of staff working on the evening we were there but the tables were not cleared or wiped in between customers. The tables felt very close together with little room for private conversation when full. From the outside, the main entrance doesn't feel obvious as both doors seem like main entrances. The carpets along the main stairs and corridors are old and worn with clear evidence of temporary fixes.

Reasonable price, welcoming and helpfull staff, pool access and good bed. A convenient location when traveling up the country. A proper traditional hotel type hotel. We got the room at a reduced price and at short notice.

The room was generally good but lacked a few things that you would expect in a hotel like a phone, convenient plug sockets and kids complementary drink option. There was an iron and trouser press but I could not figure them out - that might just be me! Our room connected to another room so noise and some light came through. The breakfast was ok but not the best quality.

I went with my mum for a little getaway. The food was absolutely lovely in the bar, and the staff there were so accommodating and nice about my allergies, I didn't feel like I was a hindrance at all, The staff at reception were so nice and happy to answer any questions we had, I asked for an extra pillow at one point and I was barely back in my room and they were already knocking at my door with the pillow! It just meant a lot to me as I'm pregnant and very uncomfortable at the moment, plus usually when I request something from reception, I don't expect it to happen so quickly! The Hotel itself is old looking, not modern at all but clean and charming, we absolutely loved it, we didn't try out the pool but we would love to go back and stay for more than one night to enjoy everything!

The hotel reception area is very welcoming. There is beautiful areas to sit- play games with family, read a book or just enjoy a drink & chat. Overall staff were very helpful and friendly. Spoke to the children & made them feel welcome. Bar food was delicious. You must try the Chowder soup :) Children enjoyed their food & ice cream. Thomas in the leisure centre was so friendly & helpful. Gave the children inflatable toys and offered armbands. (We had our own). Rooms were very clean on arrival and cleaned daily. There is a nice playground across the road from the hotel.

The breakfast the second day was not as good as the first. We had to ask for brown bread, strawberry jam, melon,crossiants very little set out compared to the day before. There was no biscuit's left with the tea and coffee.

Made to feel very welcome when we arrive, reception were were very helpful on things to do and where to go. Breakfast was fantastic, you had a vary varied choice with continental (with pastries, ham, cheese, cereals, fruit and orange juice or milk- porridge) and then there was the fry - bacon, sausages, black & white pudding, tomatoes, scrabbled eggs and they also made you pancakes if required. And toast and tea and coffee so loads to choose from and as much as you want. The food in the bar during day / evening was also very good, not too much choice but what we got was very good( soup of the day, goujons with chips, chicken curry and burger with bacon were all fantastic and delicious)

Beds felt a little bit hard

The staff was very kind, we arrived before check in time and the bar/restaurant in the hotel was very nice to wait in until check in time. The pool was amazing to swim in, long opening hours - you need a swim cap but it was no problem borrowing it from the hotel, also they lend me swim goggles which was amazing. Breakfast was nice, one day buffet, the other ordering from the menu. Good tea. Comfortable beds.

The rooms are a bit older but very clean and comfortable!

too much salt onto chips coming from the kitchen and definitely too much salt inthe chowder does the chef ever taste the food he sends out to the guests. does he consider the fact that people have health issues like high blood pressure fluid retention heart conditions etc. if we want salt on or in our meals there are salt cellars on the table take note chef your Hotel group according to their advertising literature put the safety and wellbeing of their guests as a priority, but poisoning them with salt doesn't fit that description

The swimming pool, Sauna and jacuzzi were splendid. The hotel itself is very classy with an old rustic look to it. The attached pub and restaurant serves very good food although they do take quite a bit of time to serve the food. Overall, a very experience in Gort.

The food served in the pub / restaurant took a very long time. We waited for about 45 mins for our main course and then got a bit fed up and had to tell them to send the food to our room as we didn't feel like waiting any longer.

We stayed in the room with one double bed and one single for child. Room was spacious and beds comfortable. We loved water in the pool as it was 29.5 degrees and just great for kids. Jacuzzi was nice and warm. Steam room and sauna was on and not crowded. Water in shower good pressure and warm enough. Lockers with keys in it for storage in changing room. Plenty of parking space outside the hotel. Good location.

The bedroom was too hot to sleep and we had to turn radiator off. Tried to open the window but was noisy from outside as it was facing swimming pool and I am not sure if it was noise of water pump working but looked similar to that. I was able to use my earplugs for the night, but was still too warm for sleeping. Steam room needs an upgrade as a mosaic tiles are falling off. Shower cabinet in the room looks very old but we didn’t use it as were using the one in changing rooms. Small choice for breakfast.
