The location was perfect to explore Lough Derg. An easy walk into the towns of Killaloe and Ballina. The room was spacious and the management (Reception & Bar) were very friendly and extremely helpful. The breakfast was well-cooked to order with waitress service.

The breakfast lacked variety away from the main breakfast menu of predictable fare. Also the ambience of the 'Breakfast Room' was dented somewhat by the view of the Bar with all its trappings. The room had an almost canteen and 'clattery' feel and not what would be expected from a Hotel of this level. This room also doubled up as the main restaurant and took on the atmosphere of a pub serving food in the evening (nothing against pubs...). We decided to eat in Ballina which proved to be far more 'romantic' and atmospheric. Drinking in the bar was limited to a few seats at the bar itself or outside on the terrace (when it wasn't raining). We resorted to sitting in the reception area with our 'pints'. Limited relaxation space.

really good breakfast /eggs cooked to perfection /got breakfast in room on one day and this was excellent also /very hot freshly cooked and beautiful hot soft fried eggs which can be difficult for room service to achieve.Plenty of lounges for resting and reading on the premises/lovely location ,

the bar only really had stools as one had to sit at a table which was set for meals throughout the room .I would suggest making the tables overlooking the lake free nightly for the bar facility and reset for morning breakfast /prehaps have a few papers for sale in th eam or free for visitors as its a distance to the nearest newsagents in Killaloe

Very nice staff from check-in to checkout. Breakfast was good overall. However, buttery scrambled eggs were not buttery and were tough. Breakfast day 2, hot food took 30 mins to arrive and only 10 people in restaurant. Poor contantial selection, suggest moving to a self-service option for both hot and cold options. Dinner was good and wine selection was very good. The room was very good, a nice partial view of the harbour, high ceilings made it feel spacious, just one thing, ceiling needed cobwebs sorted. The Musician's cancelled, which was unfortunate. Again, staff went above and beyond, lovely cosy hotel, and we will be back.s

Stayed the day after a wedding we attended locally. The staff were incredibly friendly. Our entire party turned up very early before check in time as our other hotel from the night of the wedding had an early check out time and the staff tried to accommodate everyone as much as they could. The barman in the lounge bent over backwards to keep the bar open and keep serving when we got back very late at night and was so friendly and patient despite being on his own serving a very large and loud crowd! Location is absolutely fantastic and great value.

We had the pleasure of being served by Gosia during our stay, and we couldn’t have been more impressed. She was not only professional but also incredibly warm and attentive, making us feel truly valued throughout our meal. Her knowledge of the menu and helpful suggestions made our dining experience even better. It was clear she genuinely cared about our experience, and her kindness and efficiency stood out. We’re very grateful for the wonderful service she provided, and it made our time at the hotel even more memorable. Thank you so much, Gosia, for looking after us so well!

Wonderful hotel in a very charming location. A place like a fairy tale, ideal for a wedding reception, a weekend with the family or a romantic weekend for two. The restaurant offers fantastic food in large portions. Special thanks to Gosia from the restaurant and Nora from the morning shift who gave us tips on the attractions near the hotel. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The room is very clean, spacious with a very comfortable bed. Fantastic hotel and we will come back again.

The walk around the grounds, good food (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner), some staff were so lovely, the bed was extremely comfortable, the shower pressure was insanely strong which was amazing, the spa treatments were quite enjoyable.

Room window was faulty, it was a maze to find the room, got overcharged but very promptly rectified and returned to my account within a couple of days. The buttery scrambled eggs were VERY buttery, they were very tasty to start with and a lot of people would like them but personally they got a little sickening. My partner liked them.

Killaloe hotel and Spa is a really lovely, warm, welcoming hotel just a couple of kilometres from the picturesque village of Killaloe. We walked in and out of killaloe along the river bank each day, swam in the lake not far from the hotel and explored the lovely cafe's and restaurants around.Everyone working in the hotel was kind, friendly and very helpful.Breakfast was great and the beds were extreamly comfortable. We would highly recommend this hotel and will most definitely be back.

Location was beautiful but the star for myself & my wife were the staff.. From the moment we arrived we were greeted like old friends & the bar staff if possible brought it to a new level. They were friendly, efficient & generous of heart..My wife went to the spa & as it was her first time using a spa was a bit nervous. The staff in the spa put her at her ease especially Paul who was a true gentleman to her & made the afternoon very special for her. On a number of occasions after her treatment day we met the staff coming out of the spa & they greeted my wife like an old friend.

The only down for us was the pricing of the food, it wasn't on the high side of expensive bur could be pitched a bir lower. The finishes in some areas could be better such as large cobwebs on window our to the verandah. Also plants in some planters were dead which takes away a little to the overall impression.

Property was brilliant, lovely location to go into the town, beds were so comfortable! Shower was lovely and we had complimentary brownies upon arrival was fantastic!

Nothing bad to say about it! But the only thing I will say is at dinner a plate or piece of cutlery was dropped/smashed and a young male waiter who had served us went in to the kitchen where the plate(not sure if it was a plate but it did smash) and started cursing the f word with the door open and anyone who was out for dinner could here it! And we had felt bad for whoever was being cursed at/guving out to! Other than that was absolutely brilliant!:)
