I couldn’t speak more highly about our stay here. We had a family gathering for my mother’s birthday and this is one of the best locations/hotels for it. The holiday homes located right beside the main hotel was perfect for three families of four, and my mother and her partner, they had their own accessible apartment too. The only thing better than the location was the friendliness of the staff, especially the twins Josephine and Maggie, Josephine had all the names of our children on night one and made them feel important and welcomed. Maggie made sure they got the best pastries at breakfast.

The rooms are spotless, big and comfortable. The hotel is located beside the river Shannon with direct access to lovely walks and Castleconnell is 5 mins walk down the road. A visit to Bradshaws is recommended especially if you like Guinness. My mother and her partner liked it so much they are staying an extra night and we will be back to make this an annual escape.

Beautiful lovely hotel a legacy castle based. We spent two night and it was so comfortable. We booked a family room although we were just two persons as it was the only available option. The room was spacious, very comfortable bed, great shower room and conveniently warm. We loved the staff, they are very welcoming with a big smile and always there for assistance. Food bar was nice too and the breakfast was delicious with a big portion. Highly recommend it if you would like to stay out of city.

The room was recently renovated, the smell of fresh paint was high especially in the bathroom. I would recommend if they put a diffuser or air freshener. Elevetor only works for first floor and the stairs to second floor is not straightforward, you have to route a bit until you find it. I would strongly recommend that hotel shall put more signs for the way to stairs because it could be a bit confusing.

It was our first year anniversary and we choose the castle oaks house hotel and from the minute we walked through the doors it was such a warm and pleasant environment. Staff were so nice and friendly. To top it all off they made our stay even more magical they upgraded us to the Shannon suit and had the most beautiful display on the bed of 2 swans made from the towels and had love heart petals sprinkled around them and they also left a box of chocolates in the room for us this ment so much to us and what a thoughtful gesture from the castle oaks staff thanks so much again for everything it's a first year anniversary we will never forget we will definitely be back and will recommend ye to everybody ☺️

We had booked in 18 people , from Dublin and Canada over the weekend for 2 nights for a family event. The hotel was clean and welcoming but the highlight was the service and attention to detail from Josephine and Maggie, both at dinner and breakfast which was second to none. Every single member of the family commented on the personal welcome from them. They remembered us from being there 3 years ago and are a credit to the So Hotel organisation. Be sure to tell Mr. Mc Donagh!!!

This was the 2nd hotel of our trip around Ireland and wow what a lovely find. Such a lovely greeting by Andrea on the front desk and her smiles felt very genuine. As it was my partners birthday we arrived in the room.to find a card, wine and a selection of cakes for him (thankyou so much) Josephine who served us dinner and drinks in the evening was absolutely lovely also. She made sure we had everything we needed and ensured that she checked on us all night to make sure we were OK. I wanted to take Josephine home with me :) Thankyou all so very much for an amazing stay at your beautiful hotel. The grounds were also beautiful. The room was amazing and I couldn't have wished for anything else

The guest lodge provided was huge and felt like our very own house. Two en-suite bathrooms and even a living area . Breakfast was fantastic and staff very friendly and helpful. Especially Josephine who offered to help us personally enjoy our dinner while a separate wedding was taking place and went totally out of her way to make sure everything was perfect

The late night resident bar staff and manager were unfriendly and would only accommodate wedding guests, even when we paid half a grand to stay one night only. Difficult to get a taxi out into the city . No late checkout available

Very spacious, well equipped room. Very clean. Elemis toiletries. Beds and pillows extremely comfortable. Bed linen spotless and good quality. Each member of staff we met was friendly, happy to interact and professional. I have to give a special word to Maggie in the bar. She was a fantastic person - helpful, friendly, efficient and good humoured. Maggie is a great Ambassador for the hotel. Thanks to the Chef, Cathy, who was really helpful also. Very happy with my stay.

Not really a complaint, but the bathroom could do with an update. Tiling a little tired and a very high bath to get into the shower. Nevertheless, it was very spacious and had everything we needed.

The late night checking was smooth and quick. Very nice environment and park around the hotel. The design of the Hotel was attractive, nice interior as well. The room and bathroom itself was nice, comfortable, clean and large enough (it was written 8m2 but was ore).

We asked vegan breakfast in writing in advance and on arrival as well. Basicly it was fulfilled, the kitchen prepared us vegan warm breakfast and provided plant based milk which was nice, however in the buffet selection vegan was limited (musli, honey, jam), unfortunately no fruit was provided (only fruit salad). The service could have been quicker. Wellness part closes at 10pm including sauna.

The room was spacious and spotless with very comfortable beds. The grounds of the hotel were beautiful and quiet with a really nice river walk. The food was lovely, with a good choice at breakfast. In particular the staff couldn't do enough for us. They were excellent going above and beyond, especially with our small children who were spoilt by Maggie and Josephine! Would definitely recommend for families.

Period property. We stayed at the Garden Suites. Very comfortable with two bedrooms and all mods. Clean and loved the crisp white linen on the beds. As other reviews said water pressure on the showers can be improved but it’s a hotel and we are all doing our part for the environment. Still had ample hot water and everything worked and was clean.

Our 1sr breakfast was just below expectations- but our 2nd day we were greeted and quality was improved. Also the ladies elves - twins we lovely and we felt looked after.
