So easily located with easy parking and so so child family friendly. We do an annual pre Christmas family trip to castletroy park hotel every November with my husband and twin sons to meet both my brothers and their partners who live in Limerick. Our parents travel down with us also. It’s a very enjoyable family tradition that your hotel is a key part of the experience. We love the Christmas decorations as it starts the festive feelings especially for my twins the only grandchildren. So all 3 generations meet up and sat in your hotel annually for this Christmas trip. My parents. Myself (& my husband) and my 2 brothers (& both their girlfriends) and the previous third generation and only grandchildren. Our sons. We usually stay spring summer time also. And my parents visit my brothers monthly and always choose your hotel.

This year. Our bedroom. Room 229 had a small double bed and a single. Last year we had 2 double beds which was much more comfortable for our family with children. It was immediately to the right once exiting the lifts to the right. We had a much more comfortable stay in that room. It was either booked under ciara kennedy or ciara bolger. In future I’d love to avail of that room again with 2 double beds

The receptionist was friendly and talkative. The room was nice and clean. Plenty car park. Swimming pool and Jacuzzi were nice to have. Breakfast was nice and staff attentive asking for tea/coffee.

No charging points for EV. I thought for a 4* hotel, it was very poor management not to have a couple of charging stations for customers. We didn't have dinner in the hotel (lost of revenue for the hotel) as we decide to go out to another restaurant as there were charging points nearby so we had dinner while car was charging.

The customer service was just excellent. You feel special and welcomed from the time when you made the reservation. The food was so tasty. We had dinner and breakfast there and both were excellent plus served by extremely nice waiters. Well done. The customer service in the hotel made amazing atmosphere what let us to feel as well. The hotel is beautiful plus the amazing staff that's what you want for the time of your holiday.

I really like everything. One thing which can be improved is the swimming pool area. I feel like I need a little bit of upgrades. It has a jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and the pool which is just perfect for kids as it is not too deep but needs to be refreshed.

Very homely. Really good menu for kids and adults at the bar/restaurant. Kind staff. Very accommodating and friendly all around. The kids love the place. Very good breakfast with lots of variety.

Unfortunately our family room was situated beside two rooms opposite each other which had a number of young men in their 20s. This led to noise, door banging, shouting and high pitched shrieking until 2.30am. The kids slept but we didnt. I will be careful to ask about the situation of a family room in future . This slightly affected our overall very positive stay.

The manager gave my daughter colouring books for Christmas eve and he was also very chatty in the dining hall for breakfast. He was lovely and friendly and always smiling. It would be great if all the staff were as thoughtful as him. Its the little things that make a difference. We had a good choice for breakfast maybe some fresh fruit options might be nice and room was a decent size for a family room. The decorations and Christmas tree were beautiful too.

Alarm went off when we were asleep and we didnt use pool etc so I can't rate it.

On check in, the receptionist realised our room was over the ballroom where there was a wedding that night. As we have young children, she found us another room in one of the suites. We were delighted with the bigger room and the quiet nights sleep!

Not being able to sit at the bar in the evening for a drink. There was sports on the TVs in the bar which we couldn't watch as we were not eating.

The room was comfortable, but the bed mattress was buckled and the window overlooked a roof. The aircon worked very well and the gym/pool facilities were good although some lockers were broken. The breakfast dining room was lovely and the food great.

The pub wasn't ideal for an evening meal, apparently the main restaurant was closed. It felt like the staff were indifferent to us. The broken bed meant we didn't sleep well.

It had a good breakfast, was comfortable.

Very minor issue that could be solved cheaply and quickly. For instance the toilet roll holder had been broken (a long time ago from the look of the break) and instead of replacing it the toilet roll had just been put on the arm. The bottom of the bathroom door was severely chipped which could be fixed simply with a thin kick plate. Just minor niggles that you’d expect in a cheap hotel, not a nice hotel like this.

Receptionist was really nice, pleasure to interact with. Room was really clean, beds were very comfortable and really nicely made up. Recommend the bar food very tasty. Pool and lounging area very nice, clean and a good size. Cooked breakfast was delicious, continental selection ok but pastries were not great.

Staff in bar and afternoon tea area, not really paying attention to the customers. Forgot about our order twice in the bar, had to chase them twice to pay, and similiar happened again the next day in the afternoon tea area. They were apologetic but strange it happened with different staff members.

Staff were excellent. Very clean hotel and lovely decor. Nice atmosphere. Lovely pool and sauna.

Food was overpriced for the quality. Seabass dish was ruined by too much sauce, mushy potatoes and no other vegetables. Chicken stir fry was poorly made. Thai fishcake was good but needed something like a mango coulis. Salad garnish lacked seasoning. Pizza was very poor,more like shop bought. The food was the only let down of our stay.
