We had a stunning room looking out over the water and the pier. Every staff member we met was warm, engaging and friendly. There was a personalised card in the room wishing my husband happy birthday. The quality of the toiletries was exceptional and the room was so clean and comfortable. Facilities available in the room were also excellent (Nespresso machine, plenty of storage, gorgeous furniture, beautiful bathroom etc.) Everything was perfect, and the location is ideal for an enjoyable night out in Kinsale. Our favourite spot for a night away, food, atmosphere and people never disappoint!

We last stayed at Acton's about 10 years ago - it was comfortable then, and tidy, but it appears to have had major refurbishment in the meantime. Very comfortable beds, a very clean and well provided-for bedroom and bathroom, a pleasant outlook (this time) over the bay, an excellent choice at breakfast, a very well-stocked bar and never less than decent service, even at busy times. And this is a busy hotel, but - apart from a party on Friday evening on the garden terrace just below our window, which calmed down well before midnight - noise in the corridors or in the hotel more generally, wasn't a problem. Staff were, without exception, polite, friendly and helpful. Location of the hotel, about 200 metres from the heart of the town is very good, and with two excellent restaurants (out of quite a number in Kinsale) less than three minutes away, we were fed very well both in and outside the hotel. Supervised parking is available in front of the hotel, but seems to be available mainly to people staying at the hotel, which was fine for us, but might be a problem if you were visiting but not staying there. We would certainly be happy to return!

I really can't think of anything that we disliked, other than the fact that, at busy times, service in the bar area was a bit stretched.

Our room was a nice size, not cramped, and very clean. The bed was comfortable and cozy. We had a lovely view of the harbor, and it was quiet despite activity outside. Our stay included breakfast, which was fantastic. Acton provides a menu of options along with a buffet and it was all delicious. We would love to return.

The Acton offers amenities such as a sauna, pool, hot tub, etc. We went over to check them out and the staff person was awesome! But, the facilities felt uncomfortable so we decided to not use them.

The location was perfect for exploring Kinsale. Everything was close enough to walk to. The staff were great - friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was a great way to start the day and the number of choices incredible. You could have just juice or tea or coffee and yoghurt or some fabulous cooked options. Also like that there was a pool and workout facility and parking at the hotel

I can’t think of anything that made our stay not enjoyable.

Comfortable, clean rooms and for European tiny rooms, it was larger than most. I was traveling with a friend and we were both able to have our luggage open at the same time. The hotel is large, not a small mom and pop Inn which I normally love but it was nice to have all the amenities and great location for walking to old Town and restaurants. Nice staff, and excellent breakfast. We traveled off season so everything was quiet. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location and very friendly staff

Vegan breakfast could have been better. It was just the regular breakfast with the meat removed for a vegetarian breakfast, then the eggs also removed for the vegan breakfast! Some vegan sausages would have been nice and maybe some scrambled tofu. Spinach was provided but I think it had been cooked in butter. More vegan options in the restaurant would have been nice as we were there for 4 nights.

The location of the hotel was excellent for exploring Kinsale. We were very impressed with the cooked breakfast choices and the continental breakfast. The room was spacious and clean.We were slightly disappointed that the bathroom products had not been fully replenished before we arrived.

Location was great - steps away from the heart of Kinsale. Fine breakfast in the morning with made to order items. Didn’t realize they have a large fitness center!

This has a larger hotel feel. If you are looking for a quaint bed and breakfast type of accommodation this isn’t it.

Bath in the suite was wonderful, as was the room itself, with lovely bed. Breakfast staff very friendly

Hotel would really benefit from getting a car charger; there are very few car charging options in Kinsale, despite high numbers of fully electric cars in the hotel car park

What a fantastic hotel. We enjoyed everything about our stay. All staff went above and beyond, The breakfast was amazing and the lunch at Sydney's was fantastic. The rooms were spacious, spotless and comfortable with a great the shower. Harbour view room was exactly that. Stunning. Onsite free parking too.

If I'm being really fussy, I'd have liked key cards for the rooms instead of a traditional key, but if that's all I can come up with then theres nothing.
