Lovely hotel in a great location with a wonderful bar and restaurant, breakfast and pool.

Bit disappointed that we didn't have real coffee facilities in the standard room and that the price doubled from the work rate I had for 2 nights to the final night I was paying for myself. Even with genius discount the price for room only no breakfast was expensive.

I booked 3 rooms together for a family holiday. We were unhappy with our room as the air conditioning wasn't functioning properly, it was blowing out hot air which made the room unbearable. We made a number of complaints & a number of attempts were made to rectify it without success. However a staff member called John was extremely helpful, he provided us with fans for the room & bottles of water & said he would speak to management with a view to changing our room. The following day we were moved to another room with a lovely view which was nice, however this distanced us from our family group which was a shame & the experience put a damper on our 1st nights stay!

The River Lee Hotel is ideally situated midway between Cork City Centre and UCC, away from the crowds but still a short walk to either destination. Hotel staff are wonderful and we were always given careful attention when we needed it. Overall the hotel felt modern and clean which made for a comfortable stay.

Cork was experiencing a warm spell during our visit and the non-air conditioned corridors were uncomfortable. Fortunately the room A/C worked well! Hotel entrance is a little awkward to navigate on foot as there was always a vehicle standing right outside the door which required some manoeuvring to pass by the tight space.

Exceptional stay for two nights. Blended trip for business and pleasure. Access to the 'lounge' on the 5th floor was an unexpected surprise. We did not use the pool but we did use the gym, which was very well equipped. Food and service in the bar / resturant was to a very high standard. Daniel and George the following night could simply not do enough to make the evening meal special. Front of house staff (check in and check out), also were professional and friendly. The hotel and staff overall have those little 'extras' that make all of the difference (ice machines outside your room, etc). We will return, for sure.

It is a little expensive but as with all things, you get what you pay for. You will however not be leaving after your stay feeling cheated ... I hate when that happens. Money well spend, especially if you want to impress the woman you love ... :)

It’s a beautiful hotel ; absolutely no faults at all; decor location clean and the staff from the front desk to the housekeeping were lovely; we had food on the terrace and from the moment we arrived to departure the staff were so so nice ; honourable mention to Daniel and the girl with the light blue suit and glasses who showed us to our table; 10 out of 10 ; the food was delicious and good value;

Nothing except the rate which was very high for one night with no breakfast included ; a bit mean not to have at least a continental breakfast ; over €300 for ONE night and no breakfast…

A very nice hotel in a "good compromise" location between Cork central and the surrounding parks and countryside. Good, easy parking and large, comfortable public areas. Open fires and cozy seating. Super reception staff. Helpful, welcoming and accommodating. Rooms are spacious and the river Lee weaves around it. It's less self- important than the more expensive competitor just up the hill and to the west of it.

Some of the furniture needs replacing and the bathrooms have gone beyond the point at which thorough cleaning is sufficient for presentation. We stayed a few years ago and the same patches of stained and worn carpet in the corridors persist. It's not cheap. So why can't they put a fresh box of tissues in the bathroom rather than stuffing a couple of screwed up pieces in the empty box a la travel lodge/premier inn etc? We didn't eat there this time around due to the lack of lighter options on the menu. No dinner salad at all.

When we arrived Kevin on Reception was very courteous, friendly, humorous and gave us great information about the Hotel, what they had to offer etc. The bonus for me and my family was we did not have to vacate the room until noon the next day. Sick to death at having to leave hotel rooms at 10 in the morning we pay enough for the room and then turfed out early and cant go into room until 3-4 in the afternoon. As it happened we could go into our room early as it was ready. Yipee. The room had everything we needed, on the fourth floor. Used the glass lift up to the floor. Lovely to look out over the City. We ordered breakfast in room and it was full irish, brown/white bread, fresh fruit with yogurt (optional), fresh orange juice and pot of tea. Gorgeous. Any staff we had contact with were friendly. Never stayed in this Hotel before but I would definitely recommend it. Beautifully decorated.

The room was excellent; everything was clean and in good condition. The staff were friendly and very helpful. I went to visit my niece nearby at University College Cork. The location is excellent it's within walking distance of UCC and the Cork City shopping and entertainment district. The breakfast was one of the highlights, a really excellent selection of anything you might like for breakfast. This was the best breakfast we had on our trip to Ireland: fresh fruit, baked goods, Irish cheeses and soda bread, yogurt, muesli, and juices. If you wanted hot food, you could upgrade to the full version. The pool was excellent, and the workout facilities were good too. The hotel is excellent, and I would definitely visit again.

There was only one slight issue with the pool: they run kids' swim lessons there, and this impacted our enjoyment of the pool. Maybe find out the timing and avoid those hours if you want a peaceful swimming experience.

The hotel is in a wonderful spot around ten minutes from the town centre, close to UCC and Fitzgerald park. The shared spaces are beautifully decorated and the pool/gym facilities are gorgeous. Costa and Karolina made our stay special, really looking after our 4 year old. The breakfast is wonderful quality- great selection.

There is a difference in style between the shared areas which are very modern and the bedrooms; which are good quality but slightly dated in comparison.

The room was extremely comfortable and spacious. Lovely bathroom too. The bar and lounge area downstairs were very nice. I especially loved the viranda area right by the river with all of the lights! Sat out there every night with my partner and occasionally talked to the staff who were lovely!

For such a large hotel, I had expected the pool area to be bigger than it was. It was still nice, but it didn't feel as comfortable as the rest of the hotel as it was hard to maintain personal space even though the pool wasn't packed.
