On arrival, Vanessa was a very welcoming host and explained everything to me as she showed me to my room. The room was comfortably warm and clean comfortable bedding and pillows supplied. Excellent shower in the small but well equipped bathroom. The breakfast room was bright, warm and comfortable and there was plenty of food choice available.

As the room that I was in was at the top of the house, the ceiling was sloped in because of the roof pitch. This made it feel a bit smaller than it actually was. The room also could do with a small table and chair, and there was room for such. Beside the bed, there was a dressing table with a stool, but that was used for the tea/coffee tray and the welcome folder, so not much room left for my use.

This was an excellent location for accessing Cork, the room was clean, and the staff worked hard when interacting with the guests. Previous reviews have mentioned soft white fluffy towels - I can agree with that description!

Not the fault of the owners - I was in a front bedroom (room 12) where the traffic was really noisy, plus I was beside the reception area and was disturbed each time the front door was slammed shut. The shower was great although the extractor fan only worked when the light was switched on, which meant the en-suite bathroom smelt damp most of the time. There were beautiful and huge sized curtains at the window which were hard to draw shut. This meant the street lighting flooded my bedroom throughout the night, although it was slightly easier to handle than the traffic noise. Should also mention only Netflix available on the TV, perhaps a good thing given the gloomy current world affairs during my stay .....

Great location, only a 15min walk from the city center. Free parking was really handy to have. Cosy room with comfortable bed, great high pressure shower, tea/coffee making facilities, and Netflix TV. The room was cleaned daily with fresh towels and more tea/coffee supplies. Friendly helpful staff.

Only a couple of minor details. We were on the top floor so the ceilings were slanted quite low, which led to bumped heads a few times. The small size of the bathroom sink and strong flow of the tap doesn’t quite match up, which led to water splashing out onto us and the floor every time the tap was turned on.

The location, and the room. I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel, it definitely looks better than the pictures suggest. Also nice to be able to use the private terrace to drink some cool water as it was exceptionally hot weather. Bed was comfortable and the traffic noise wasn't an issue as we were facing the riverside.

I alerted the very helpful reception staff to the dangerously hot water in the bathroom (I had tried to use the shower). The lady I spoke to about it was very professional and immediately noted it down. I wanted to ensure no one else used the shower in room 11 before it was looked at by the staff.

Location, clean, super friendly and hard working staff. Room 8 location and breakfast room by the river were lovely. Comfortable bed.

Room 8 bathroom is very small but clean. Fine for 1 night. Some decor was lovely (oak doors, tiles, soft furnishings) and modern and then let down where (i) cheap and or damaged furniture (wardrobe and damaged dresser top) (ii) messy sealant finishing around the shower base looked dirty/mouldy. Cooked breakfast was very nice, howevet buffet layout was cramped and offerings seemed cheap ....ham, juice, fruit. This may be all too harsh but just my honest first impressions on a busy weekend ..... as I would stay again. Just book in time to request a bigger room and bathroom, ....location, cleanliness and staff are great 👍

This is a charming property across the street to the UCC campus’ university gates and a very easy, flat 10-15 minute walk into Cork centre (as a reference I am in my mid 60s). Our room was spacious with a large window and nicely updated ensuite. Our room was number 6 and had a lovely view of the river. It was perfect with a very comfortable double bed and a single bed. Nice lighting in both bedroom and en-suite with plenty of places to charge electronics. Excellent Wi-Fi. The property is very clean and nicely appointed. Breakfast was served in a lovely riverside room with an outdoor terrace. There are delicious hot & continental options for breakfast, (hot choices included a full Irish breakfast, omelettes and other selections). It was included with my rate and it was cooked to order. All of the staff were always pleasant and helpful. A special joy was a friendly sweet caring lady named Karen- she is absolutely one of the nicest staff members I have ever encountered in all my travels, what a gem!! We enjoyed our stay very much and look forward to staying again when we return to Cork. Note: I am including pictures from the patio outside of the dining area, our view from our room and a view of the front of the property showing UCC in the background

It was amazing, we loved it

We had a lovely stay in the triple room, room 3. Ruby was very friendly and welcoming. She greeted us on arrival and she was very clear with instructions for keypad codes to access our room and parking. She was very organised and took our breakfast order for the next day and showed us where to go for breakfast. She also gave us an excellent recommendation for dinner that night. The staff are excellent and the guest house is very well run. Breakfast in the conservatory was very calm and relaxing overlooking the river. We enjoyed the continental breakfast and a cooked Irish breakfast. The location is excellent, right beside University College Cork. It has beautiful grounds and buildings. It holds the Ogam inscribed stone collection, and the Glucksman Art Museum. Both are worth visiting. We had an excellent stay, thank you to the staff.

Everything was great.

We stayed for two nights, had my 4 week old baby with me. The room was very clean, lovely bathroom. Tea coffee and kettle in room and netflix on TV. Travel cot was ready set up for us when we arrived, room is very spacious.. had enough room for my pram in the room along side the cot. Breakfast in the morning was really nice, and dining room over looks river! Separate area where you can sit and relax, also a microwave there free to use which was extremely useful as I needed one to sterilise bottles. Parking right outside the property and fairly easy to find, although on a one way street so if you miss it you will have to go back around. Really easy to get into the city centre, around a ten minute walk straight down the street. Staff were extremely friendly, we would 100% stay again 😊

Everything as expected - comfortable, clean and a good base for access to UCC. We we're at the top in Room 5 which faces away from the road so no view to speak of but still bright. The staff were friendly and check-in/check-out all very smooth. Reasonably priced for Cork!

The location is on the student route home after a trip into town i.e. expect noise into early hours during term time. The combination of no aircon and the heat meant open windows were a must and we were grateful for earplugs blocking out some of the noise.

If you are looking for a luxurious place, this is not the place for you. However, if you want to sleep well, not worry about parking and be close to the centre of Cork, then by all means. My misfortune was the bad weather because the coffee on the terrace behind the house would have tasted delicious. Personally, if I need to stay in Cork again, it will definitely be here. I highly recommend it

Unfortunately, I was only there for one night and I couldn't find anything to complain about.
