The Room, spacious, bathroom was very good. All Staff, from reception, restaurant and house keeping were exceptionally friendly. Restaurant staff dealt with a problem with our evening meal exceptionally well. Breakfast was very good.

Room lacked luxurious details, the carpet was tired and stained in room 108 We had booked the Fota restaurant but were directed to and seated in the Amber restaurant until we noticed the menu wasn't as expected and asked to be relocated. Service at the restaurant was a bit chaotic and the staff said all restaurants were was exceptionally busy. Our meal arrived quite late and was cold but staff did their utmost to rectify the situation and on that basis we would return again.

Beautiful grounds, great facilities, staff were excellent - food fantastic. The hotel is fantastic. Breakfast and bar restaurant staff in particular need a shout out - they went out of their way to help. We travelled with a 7 month old - and staff always were there to lend a hand, heat up baby food, give you the best most spacious seat at the bar etc. Breakfast is top class. Little things make a big difference - having condiments on the table for you - saves a lot of 'up and down' to the buffet . The hot food menu served to your table was brilliant. Best Eggs Benedict !

Pre booking the pool- travelling with a baby or young kids means all plans go out the window. So simple things like not being able to to the pool when it suited was quite annoying. For example, if you planned on doing the wildlife park but it's raining and you'd rather wait until it clears - you would think "oh, I can use the pool in this 5 star resort", but no - you need to pre book for allocated slots on the hour. For the price the hotel charge - that's a significant inconvenience, and finally - might be the tipping point as to whether we'd come back with kids again. I understand why the hotel does it i.e to manage crowds - but maybe a more sensible policy would be to allow flexibility to families with young children. At 300 euro a night plus - it's a bit rich to stagger pool access

Great location. Lovely walks around the grounds. Clubhouse bar and food excellent.

Heat in room was uncomfortable. Buzzing noise from area outside room most likely from swimming pool area directly adjacent to room. Service in main bar was very poor. Waited 15 / 20 mins for a drink. Eventually had to inform bar man that I was waiting for a drink. Ordered a cocktail for my wife after this and after 25 min wait we found the cocktail was left sitting at the bar waiting to be delivered. Ice in the strawberry daiquiri had melted and the Quality of the cocktail was well below expectations.

staff were very friendly, not too formal. Bar staff were delightful, live jazz with Phil Collins was superb, made our evening. Food was good, nothing special but tasty. Room service was excellent. Cocktails were well made.

Decor was a little jaded, some marks on the carpet in our room...skirting in bathroom was mdf was was swollen because of damp. Public areas whilst ok were a bit tired, but fine, I wasn't losing sleep over it! Again, it didn't really faze me but it was the first time in a 5 star property that we brought our own bags to the room, weren't asked if we wanted assistance, usually our luggage is whisked away....also as it is essentially a golf resort there guests are a bit straight but friendliness of staff made up for this

Cleanliness was brilliant,it’s so peaceful and tranquil an relaxed, staff were amazing always welcoming and so so well mannered and friendly, the new chap I think he is the new bar manager was an absolute gentleman nice friendly funny have the laugh but still 100% professional, from the time we arrived to the time we left, it was beautiful to meet such lovely people from reception people to cleaners to all involved in your treatments,waiters an waitresss every body were so nice and happy and that vibe we felt, well done to all the team working there, it’s a team effort that makes it what it is an ye are doing it fantasticly, keep up the good work!!!

The only down side I see was with the meal we got, the portions were small, very very tasteful lovely flavours,

Breakfast was lovely. The rooms, grounds and facilities were spotless.

Staff and service in the bar was lacking. Loads of staff and men in suits busy cleaning glasses and concentrating on making cocktails, completely neglecting the customers and lacking a friendliness factor. I stood for ages at the bar waiting for my presence to at least be acknowledged and this happened to many of the guests both evenings of my stay. Really lacking in the warmth of welcome that we received in the reception on arrival and at breakfast. More customer care required

Food, breakfast was excellent. I was delighted to see a gluten-free breakfast option. The hot food was to order with cold options self-service. On leaving, we were offered coffee to go. We ate in the main restaurant. The food was delicious. You pay for quality. Staff excellent. We were celebrating 2 birthdays, and the hotel on arrival had a birthday plate in the room and again after dinner. The small touches. Kids loved the swimming pool, and the smell of the spa area was beautiful. Gym - functional and not overcrowded. Rooms - very comfortable bed. Very spacious bathroom. The coffee machine in the room was a welcome bonus.

More water in the room for the coffee machine would be nice. Otherwise, we would have loved to stay another night. Did not have any treatments, so I am unable to comment.

Breakfast was very nice although our orders, only two, Came out at different times. I felt that the orders should have arrived together, especially in a 5 star hotel. Not alot to expect. Bed very comfortable and staff very helpful and friendly.

Again, a few things that I felt were not acceptable for a 5-star hotel; not enough drawer/shelf storage space for clothes, a towel rail for holding the bathroom hand towel would have been handy as otherwise we hand to hang towel over shower screen and that was too high for my wife to reach. The shower plug hole rubber seal was coming away from the plug hole. A frayed bath towel in our bathroom.

We loved the size of the room, the cleanliness of the room, we loved the food and the drinks. We loved the atmosphere. We loved how there was a lift specifically from the rooms to the spa so we didn’t have to walk through the lobby in our robes.

We didn’t like how the spa was all separate from eachother. We didn’t like how the pool was in one room then out near reception in another door was the steam room and sauna. We felt like we did a lot of walking around to find the facilities and we would’ve preferred if they were all in the one area. But this is only 1% of our stay so not really a bother as such.

Fabulous Hotel. All staff from Reception, Restaurant Manager and staff and House keeping very polite and helpful.

Only suggestion I would make is the Hydropool , steam room should be free when we are booking for the stay . Everyone who used the pool and Sauna were unhappy with the fact that one had to pay to use steam Room and Hydrpool. Years ago it was free only guests had to pay for Spa treatments. The Classic Twin Room bed brakes were not working and the beds were moving we had to put a table in between the beds to secure it for safety.
