We had a truly lovely stay at the Maryborough Hotel. The building itself is elegant and full of character, set within beautiful, well-maintained gardens that make for a peaceful and luxurious atmosphere. The entrance to the hotel and the surrounding grounds are particularly striking and really set the tone for the stay. Parking was easy and convenient, which made arrival stress-free. Our room was amazing – spacious, comfortable, and spotlessly clean – and the welcome prosecco and chocolates were such a thoughtful and appreciated touch. The spa was a real highlight, especially the women’s-only area, which provided a calm and relaxing space that felt like a true retreat. The spa staff were the nicest I’ve come across – incredibly welcoming and attentive, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The Zen garden was also a lovely surprise – peaceful and beautifully kept, perfect for a few moments of quiet. Dinner was of an exceptionally high standard, and the staff throughout the hotel were genuinely warm, welcoming, and helpful. The only small areas where things felt a little less polished were breakfast and the shower in our room and I wouldn't mention it outside of being asked for a review, but I think its helpful to be constructive. Breakfast was good and everything was fresh and enjoyable, but service could be a bit hit and miss during busy times. That said, we really appreciated the complimentary newspapers and the relaxed feel of the dining rooms. The staff were lovely. The water pressure in the shower was also quite low, which made it a bit tricky to rinse shampoo out of long hair – not a major issue, but worth noting. That said, none of these small things would stop us from coming back. Overall, the experience was excellent, and we would happily return.

The management team at the hotel are excellent and a special mention needs to be given to the Customer Relations manager John Coleman. John was absolutely brilliant at helping us figure out places to see, restaurants to visit and logistics of managing various trips. With his happy helpful manner and excellent knowledge of the area he really is an asset to the hotel. Cleanliness of hotel was very good and lovely garden and areas to sit in for coffee.
Breakfast was a bit disappointing for couple of reasons. The buffet offering was just ok, many times things like fresh fruit, juice, cheese etc had run out and was not kept replenished. The selection of continental and cold buffet options was also quite limited. The second reason was the lack of staff attention. There always seemed to be a lot of staff on the floor but it took a long time, or a need to ask, to have dirty plates cleared away for example, or to check if we wanted additional tea or coffee. Apart from this it is a very nice hotel, very comfortable and as mentioned with great senior management team. Just needs a bit more focus on the breakfast service.

Nice quiet grounds with views to the garden from the terrace and easy to park, good quality food at breakfast and evening meal
Ongoing renovation work meant a lot of noise in the hotel during the day

Nearly everything, room was very clean and tidy, spacious, well equipped, very comfy bed, tea and coffee, hairdryer and best of all.. an iron and ironing board. Breakfast was yum, full irish isa must an there is plenty of choice of cerials, pastries, etcetc. Loads of free parking, sooper helpful and friendly staff. Ohh, spa and leasure centre, yep, its brill, had 3 hours of total relaxation. Therr is realy to much to say about my stay, best idea is book a wee stayover for yourself
The only letdown was it was an over bath rain shower that didnt have a seperate spray. Thats it

As always, it was such a pleasure from the minute I went in the door to the time I left. i had a lovely note and bottle of prosecco in my room thanking me for choosing the maryborough! The staff are so well trained in hospitality and service ...so professional and attentive the room was stunning and spotless even though there was a wedding on the bar and rooms were so tranquil...grounds are fabulous..I had a facial in the spa with Ruby she was amazing at her job so professional...the thermal suite is wonderful...I could go on and on...and of course the food was delicious and very reasonably priced and portions were very large! I love going to the maryborough ...I'll be booking again very soon .very hard to beat.
What's not to like! Nothing

Sophisticated elegance throughout this hotel. Updated room and bath were well designed and comfortable. Public spaces were spacious. The hotel has lovely grounds and has many events so was busy during our stay. The restaurant and bar including breakfast were good but not exceptional. Special shoutout to John Coleman who went above and beyond to make the stay exceptional. Note this hotel is about a 20 euro ride into the city center. The is public transportation outside is fairly reliable and quick.
Rooms rennovation seemed somewhat unfished with bath lacking a toliet paper holder and over the sink lighting.

I am a wheelchair user and I found this hotel excellent for me I could access the Hotel from a parking bay very easily to getting around the hotel. The bedroom was very Wheelchair friendly as was the wetroom and my Wife and I had a very comfortable bed and we slept very well in it as well. The staff were very cheery and helpful and were only to willing to assist the restaurant was fully accessible and the breakfast was 5 Stars and so were the staff so I would recommend this Hotel and I would stay in it again.

Marybourgh is 300 year old country hotel full of character in its own right, which is absolutely breathtaking outside and in. The staff were 1st class, exceptionally wonderful, they couldn't do enough for you. The hotel smelt beautifully through with tee lights lemon and jasmine. It was lovely decorated for Christmas with stunning trees everywhere. I took so many pictures, lovely roaring fire as you entered. When I arrived there on Saturday the 16th of November there was a beautiful wedding the bride was lovely.. Both the bar and restaurant were spectacular, and the food was outstanding. All staff were 1st class..my room was just perfect with a massive comfy bed. I would definitely recommend this absolutely wonderful hotel.full to be a lovely friendly, hard-working staff and its charm. I will definitely visit again when I'm over in the summer to visit my son and his girlfriend and family.. I absolutely had a fantastic time staying at The Marbrough Hotel and Spa.
Absolutely Nothing - Completely perfect

Staff was pleasant at Breakfast. The room was nice in a nice location. I had dinner one night and the food was good.
Pool, sauna, and steam room closed early two night in a row. A young kid opened the steam and sauna rooms 15-20 minutes early two nights in a row preventing me from using the facilities. I was away and didn't get to use the facilities until the end of the day and this was disappointing. I normally bring my own googles for swimming but since I was traveling for such a lengthy time, I left my pair at home. The googles that were provided had mold and black stuff on them. A good disinfect or clean would have went along way.

The whole experience was amazing. The room was outstanding, with great view to the garden and an amazing balcony. The dining experience was also incredible. The Thermal Suites, offered as a compliment on our stay, was a very relaxing experience and one of the best structures I've ever been to. But I need to say that out of all the things that impressed me on this Hotel, the main one was the staff. Luke at the restaurant, Laura at the Spa, Heidi who gave me the deep tissue massage, and especially Johannes at reception were able to offer of one of the best hospitality experiences I've had in my life. Kudos to every single one of them and whoever trained these people. Well done!
I believe that the breakfast was not at the same level of the other services provided at the hotel. It wasn't bad, but the Full Irish for example was as simple as it gets, definitely not at the same level as the dining experience you would have during Dinner.
