Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, especially Vivienne, made us feel right at home. Bar staff were also extremely attentive and assisted us with directions and suggestions of where to visit and how to catch public transport.

Had a bad experience in the lift with ? Ukrainian refugee and we were actually quite frightened by her behaviour towards us (we couldn’t understand what she was saying to us and she became quite angry). We were then very cautious about getting in the lift with other people.

Well presented and rooms were spacious and good selection of drinks available in the room. Really nice clean beds

There was some “water hammer” noise from the water pipes when the toilet was flushed

Staff were really lovely, very helpful and friendly. Our family room (109) was big and spacious 1 double and 3 single beds. Ceilings are high and two big windows made the room bright and airy. The bathroom was in a separate little area just inside the door. It was nice to be able to close the door to this area when going to bed. Breakfast was very good with a wide range of choice for all the family.

We booked this hotel specifically because it was in the city centre and had a pool for the kids. We didn't arrive until 18.10 as had been at an event for the day, and when we arrived the kids were disappointed to hear that the pool had closed at 18.00. Staff were lovely and said it would be open the following morning at 9 and said that we could use the facilities after checking out also if we wished. Longer opening hours in the leisure centre would be an advantage here, but again staff were lovely!

Everything was great! Helpful, efficient staff, lovely room with extra pillows and plenty of outlets, and I like the trash can having a section for recycling. Love the location, as it's slightly removed from the noise and bustle of downtown but is a short and interesting walk from the city center. We hope to stay again!

I would have loved a nightlight in the bathroom. Also, on the Saturday night of our stay, some other guests were noisy very late at night while coming back from bars while we were delirious from international travel and desperate for sleep. I've seen signs in some hotel hallways about quiet hours and wonder if that would help.

The hotel is situated a short walk from a bridge to take you into the city centre, it is located in a quiet area but a short distance to the hustle and bustle. Our room was exceptionally clean with all the facilities you would expect such as hot drinks, hair dryer etc. The bed was a little small for our liking but each to their own as it was comfortable. The staff were very happy to help and breakfast was buffet style but freshly cooked with a good selection.

The constant emails before we arrived and during our stay. I received multiple emails encouraging me to check in before we had arrived and i also received multiple emails during our stay encouraging us to check out. I felt quite pressured by this. We arrived to a person on reception but 2 self service check in/out machines. I personally am not a fan of these machines and takes the hospitality away as soon as you arrive.

loved the place, location great, VFM, allowed to check-in when we'd arrived which meant we didn't have 6 very exhausted hours to kill - friendly and helpful check-in and bar staff on the main.

some staff a little on the rude side, one member not on shift (I assume as she knew everyone by name) sat next to the bar working on laptop but constantly using on her phone on loud speaker, another who seemed to know all the staff didn't acknowledge me or my partner in a broken foot boot when she pushed past us as I was holding door open for my partner Tv in room a little on small side and quite low down in relation to the bed otherwise trip would've been perfect.

The room was extremely huge. We were given a room with a double bed and 3 single beds (there was only 2 of us). The bathroom was also very large. The bed was comfortable and all the usual room amenities were available including coffee and cookies (biscuits). We did not take advantage of the hotel amenities but there are restaurants, a bar, a pool, and probably more.

The location is a little awkward to get to depending upon how you arrive. We had to park our rental car in a garage a few minutes away as there wasn't enough on site parking.

On arrival we decided to pay for breakfast for the morning. We paid by cash. On arrival for breakfast the staff member could not find our booking/payment for breakfast. We were directed to reception, at which we were questioned about our payment & told that no cash was accounted for on the night before. Eventually, we were told to 'go ahead' for breakfast. On departure I asked if they had found the breakfast booking and told yes. We did feel a little uncomfortable having to go through the questioning and delay in getting to our breakfast. We felt like we were not being believed... that we had paid for our breakfast.

Location was perfect- short walk into the city centre. Breakfast was superb- great choice of food. We have family and close friends in Cork and we met in the bar for meals in the evenings. All the staff are so welcoming and friendly - management, in the bar, on reception, at breakfast time. We have stayed in the Maldron several times in the past and they remember us which adds a very personal touch and makes our stay extra special.

Can’t fault anything.
